Jacob Rukavina

Jacob Rukavina

Jacob was born in Nova Scotia, Canada to a British Canadian father and a Croatian Canadian mother. Because of his father’s work, much of Jacob’s youth was spent moving between cities and provinces across the country. As a result, Jacob describes himself as truly pan-Canadian, incorporating aspects of both his ethnic and local cultures into his identity. Growing up in such a rich and multicultural community, Jacob spent his younger years pursuing volunteer work as well as creative projects involving art and science. After finishing high school in Langley, BC, Jacob returned to Nova Scotia, graduating from Dalhousie University in 2020 with a bachelor’s degree in biochemistry. Jacob has since relocated to Uppsala, Sweden where he is currently pursuing his Masters’ degree in the same subject. His main interests include politics, foreign languages, travel, and science. While new to the field of writing and journalism, Jacob is passionate about the use of storytelling as medium for change and public awareness.
