Dubrovnik Becomes the Culinary Capital During the Good Food Festival

By 7 October 2016

A series of workshops and presentations, themed dinners, programs for children, tastings of award-winning regional wines and traditional dishes, Croatian and international cuisine, festival fair, healthy food and local products, well-known Croatian and foreign chefs and many other surprises make up the rich program that is the Dubrovnik Good Food Festival.

In its 3rd edition this year, the Good Food Festival will run from October 20-23. Over those four days, over 20 different events will be held with more than 30 restaurants in Dubrovnik, several hotel companies, 10 wine bars and much more.

“The third edition of the Good Food Festival promotes creativity, offering a wealth of diverse flavours along with presentations of culinary specialties typical for our region as well as international visiting cuisines, educational programs for children, tastings of regional wines, culinary workshops, events such as ˝Dinner with a Famous Chef˝, special menus in many Dubrovnik restaurants, ˝Eat & Walk˝ culinary tours, a map of wine bars and other surprises, and the participation of local and foreign chefs,” states the Good Food Festival Facebook page.

The festival begins with the traditional “Dubrovnik Table”, a table that extends along the entire main Stradun - the central place where Dubrovnik restaurant owners will proudly display the products of their labor.

Over the course of the 4 days, 30 Dubrovnik restaurants will offer special festival menus at popular prices of 100 kuna, tastings at wine bars in the city, as well as the occasional culinary tours for tourists and lovers of sweets with the help of the “Sweet Tooth Map” - leading you directly to tastings of traditional Dubrovnik cakes and cookies.

The aim of the festival is to encourage the culinary scene to cooperate, consolidate existing and new forms of restaurant menus with new products, enrich the autumn tourist offer, and provide visitors a unique experience that will encourage them to visit Dubrovnik during the postseason.
