April the 25th, 2021 - The Croatian AD Plastik Group has managed to contract new jobs totalling more than 17 million euros with an automotive giant despite the ongoing coronavirus crisis which is continuing to dampen business across the world.

As Poslovni Dnevnik/Suzana Varosanec writes, the Croatian AD Plastik Group is a highly successfully multinational company with eight production sites across five countries. It is also one of the leading Eastern European companies for the development and production of components for car interiors and exteriors. The company's already extensive business book is continuing to record positive changes in the form of yet more new and pricey contracts concluded with large partners in the automotive industry.

According to the latest announcement through the Zagreb Stock Exchange, the Croatian AD Plastik Group has contracted new deals with the buyer Stellantis in the total value of 17.3 million euros, with an estimated project duration of a decade.

Stellantis is otherwise one of the largest automotive groups in the world in terms of the number of cars produced, which, they say, was created by merging the FCA and PSA Group. At the beginning of November last year, the Stellantis logo was presented to the public, which was one of the last steps in the final completion of the merger of the FCA and PSA groups, which was officially completed in January this year.

It is a new corporate name in the demanding automotive industry world, with a portfolio of fourteen recognised automotive brands making it a de facto giant in the market. Regarding the aforementioned merger, as well as the impact on the business of the Croatian AD Plastik Group, its President of the Management Board, Marinko Dosen, stated that the merger definitely benefits the company. It is a group that, he pointed out, includes the likes of Peugeot, Citroen, Opel, Fiat, Chrysler, Vauxhall Jeep, Dodge, Ram, Alfa Romeo and Maserati.

"The merger should put a spring in Fiat's step, as it had slowed down a bit, and the main reason for the merger is joint development and the market. They used to be a direct competitor, and by merging they became the fourth largest car manufacturer in the entire world. Due to the production on a common platform, they'll manage to achieve huge savings and be more competitive in the market. As we're on the panel of suppliers of all car manufacturers from their group, we won't have restrictions like those who worked with only one of them,'' explained Dosen.

ZAGREB, Sept 28, 2020 - Croatian plastic car parts manufacturer AD Plastik said on Monday it had sealed several new deals with carmakers that would be carried out in the coming years.

The company, based in the southern town of Solin, has agreed with the PSA Group the manufacture of grab handles for the Peugeot 308. The project is scheduled to begin in the second quarter of 2021 and last for nine years.

Also agreed was the manufacture of grab handles for TOGG, Turkey's first car maker, for the electric C-SUV.

Grab handles for both companies will be manufactured in Mladenovac, Serbia, and the total value of the deal is €1.4 million. Serial production is scheduled for the second quarter of 2023 with an estimated project duration of five years.

The manufacture of visible interior components for the new Alfa Romeo Tonale has been agreed with the FCA Group and will take place in Croatia. The total value of this deal is €4 million. Serial production is due to start in the first quarter of 2022 with an estimated project duration of eight years.

In Russia, new deals have been sealed with the VW Group and the Renault-Nissan-AvtoVAZ Alliance, worth a total of €2.2 million. Serial production for the first batch of projects is scheduled for 2021 with an estimated duration of three and a half years and six years respectively. Serial production for the second batch is planned for 2022 with an estimated project duration of four years.

ZAGREB, Sept 8, 2020 - Plastic car parts manufacturer AD Plastik wins Golden Key Award as the best large exporter in 2019, IT firm Infobip is the best medium-sized exporter and Jadran-una has been honored as the best small company, it was announced at the 15th Croatian Exporters Convention on Tuesday.

Addressing the convention, Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic congratulated the exporters, saying that commodity exports had been rising steadily for the past 10 years and their share in GDP had increased from 16.7% to 28.5%.

He said that only 15% of Croatian companies generated revenues on foreign markets, while they employed 51% of the active workforce. He added that these companies place over 60% of their investments in research and development, generating three-quarters of total profits and nearly four-fifths of total investment in research and development in Croatia.

Speaking of boosting the export-oriented industry, Plenkovic cited reindustrialization and strong support to enterprises in using smart and clean technologies, greater use of energy from renewable sources, and digital transformation.   

"That is the path to increasing competitiveness," the prime minister said, adding that the government's focus would be on developing sectors with great growth potential such as information and communication technologies, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, pure technologies, such as solar and hydrogen, and new technologies, including 3D printing, nanotechnology, and robotics.

He also pledged further investment in education, railways, and broadband internet infrastructure.

"Our ambition is to create 100,000 jobs over the next four years, that is before the end of our term," Plenkovic said.

He highlighted two objectives of importance for exporters - the adoption of the euro and entry into the Schengen area.

The backbone of the Croatian economy

The head of the Croatian Exporters Association, Darinko Bago, praised the government for how it was handling the crisis caused by the global coronavirus pandemic, citing the government's social sensitivity and efforts to preserve jobs and help the tourist industry.

"Exporters are the best that Croatia has, they are the backbone of the Croatian economy," Bago said, adding that exporters expected the government to continue to be socially sensitive, but also to intensify localization and regionalization.

As Jozo Vrdoljak/Privredni.hr/Novac writes on the 29th of January, 2020, the Croatian company AD Plastik Group has contracted new deals for the Russian and European markets worth an enormous 31.8 million euros in total.

Additional jobs for the Renault-Nissan-AvtoVAZ alliance worth 22.4 million euros have been contracted over on the Russian market, and cooperation with the PSA Group is continuing on the European market, with which new jobs with a total value of 9.4 million euros have been contracted.

The AD Plastik Togliatti plant in Russia will produce shock absorbers and exterior pillar trims for the new Lada Grant model and lower bumper grilles for the new Renault Logan iSandero models. These are additional jobs for new Alliance vehicle models that were initially contracted back in 2019.

The start of batch production of these vehicle models is planned for the second and third quarters of 2021, with an estimated duration of eight years. 15.2 million euros worth of new deals have been agreed for the Lada Grant vehicle and 7.2 million euros for the new Renault models, which is excellent news for this large Croatian company.

''The new jobs contracted with the PSA Group are a confirmation of the very successful status of the AD Plastik Group in the panel of suppliers of this reputable automaker. The AD Plastik Group factory in Mladenovac has contracted the production of glass guides for Opel Astra, the best-selling Opel vehicle, with a total value of 5.8 million euros. The start of batch production is planned for the fourth quarter of 2021, with an estimated project duration of eight years,'' the highly successful Croatian company AD Plastik stated.

The Solin-based factory will produce exterior parts, namely the upper grilles, which will be installed on the Fiat Ducato and Opel Vivaro, vehicles from the FCA and PSA group. This Croatian company will be producing parts for these commercial vehicles for the first time, with a contract value of 2.2 million euros in total.

The start of batch production is also planned for the fourth quarter of 2021 with a project duration of two years.

Air extractors for the Peugeot 308 and Opel Astra will also be produced at the Solin factory, with a project value of 1.4 million euros. The commencement of the batch production of this project is planned for the first quarter of 2021, with an expected duration of seven years.
