April 19, 2022 - The latest flight news to Croatia as Aer Lingus Split and Dubrovnik flights will only operate this summer as the Irish airline excludes Pula from its 2022 summer flight schedule. 

This year, the Irish airline Aer Lingus is operating to only two Croatian airports, Dubrovnik and Split, reports Croatian Aviation.

Namely, Aer Lingus will not operate in this year's summer flight schedule on a regular line between Dublin and Pula. The line was last in service before the pandemic. Aer Lingus remains present exclusively in Dalmatia, Split and Dubrovnik.

The line between Dublin and Split operates three times a week from March 29. In May, weekly operations should increase from 3 to as many as seven flights. Aer Lingus plans daily flights between the two cities until early October when they announced three flights a week.

The line between Dublin and Dubrovnik will be open from the first day of May and offers three flights a week, every Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday, until the end of September. Irish low-cost carrier Ryanair also operates between these two cities. As of this summer, Croatia Airlines will also offer this route, moving it from Zagreb to Split in the peak summer season.

Aer Lingus will additionally operate on the regular line between Cork and Dubrovnik, which will run twice a week, on Wednesdays and Saturdays, from May 4. 

A320 and A321 aircraft with a capacity of 174 to 212 seats have been announced on these lines. 

Easter weekend was busy for both Split and Dubrovnik airports, adds Croatian Aviation.

The Easter holidays are an introduction to the summer season regarding the number of passengers and flights at Split Airport, with over 260 arrival and departure flights in Split from Thursday, April 14 to Monday, April 18.

Although not all the announcements came true, many flights and airlines were recorded at Split Airport. This Easter, the busiest airline in terms of the number of flights was easyJet, which flew to Geneva, Basel, London, Bristol, Glasgow, Manchester, and Berlin.

Passengers were transported from Split by Volotea (Marseille, Nantes, Bordeaux), Eurowings (Stuttgart, Cologne, Hamburg), Lufthansa (Frankfurt, Munich), Condor (Frankfurt, Düsseldorf), Transavia (Paris Orly), KLM (Amsterdam Orly), KLM (Amsterdam) ), Ryanair (Dublin), Vueling (Rome), Austrian (Vienna). Croatia Airlines connected Split with Zagreb, Munich, Frankfurt, and Rome.

Traffic also started to increase in Dubrovnik. Namely, Croatia Airlines (Zagreb, Paris), British (London), Jet2 (Manchester, London, Edinburgh), Austrian (Vienna), Ryanair (Dublin), Vueling (Barcelona), Iberia (Madrid), LOT operated from Dubrovnik. Warsaw).

March 5, 2021 - Aer Lingus flights to Split, Dubrovnik, and Pula have been announced in the Irish carrier's 2021 summer flight schedule! 

Croatian Aviation reports that the well-known Irish carrier Aer Lingus plans to return to three Croatian airports in the upcoming summer flight schedule, which will take effect at the end of March.

In the 2020 summer season, AerLingus did not operate to Dubrovnik and Pula, while the airline had relatively short and reduced traffic to Split Airport. In the upcoming summer flight schedule, Aer Lingus plans to renew all routes to Croatia, but this will primarily depend on restrictive measures between Ireland and Croatia, which in turn directly affects bookings.

From May 1, Aer Lingus plans to operate again on the Dublin - Pula - Dublin route. The line is scheduled to operate twice a week, on Tuesdays and Saturdays, until September 28. A320 aircraft have been announced on the route.

On 45 announced return flights to Pula, Aer Lingus currently offers as many as 15,660 seats.

The Dublin - Dubrovnik - Dublin line has been announced from March 30, but it is expected that Aer Lingus won't begin operating on this line until May. From May to the end of September, five flights a week have been announced, every day except Tuesday and Thursday, also with A320 aircraft. In October, the airline will reduce the number of rotations to three flights a week.

The Dublin - Split - Dublin line should also operate from May 1 to October 1, with two flights a week, every Tuesday and Thursday. This is also the only line on which Aer Lingus operated last year after the lockdown was lifted in European countries.

From the beginning of May, the airline also offers the Cork - Dubrovnik - Cork line, but there is a great possibility that flights will be withdrawn from sale and that this line will not be in operation in the 2021 summer season. Two weekly flights are available from May 5 to the end of September, on Wednesdays and Saturdays.

August 27, 2020 - The latest news from around Croatia’s airports for flights to Croatia with updates for Split.

Croatian Aviation reports that this summer, Aer Lingus launched only one direct line to Croatia, while before the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic, four were announced.

The company introduced the Dublin - Split line only on July 20 this year, at the same time canceling the lines from Dublin to Pula and Dubrovnik, as well as the Cork - Dubrovnik line for this summer season.

Aer Lingus aircraft operated three times a week on a direct route to Split (Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays), but currently, the number of weekly flights has been reduced and flights on Wednesdays are excluded from the schedule. The company will continue to operate between Split and Dublin twice a week (Mondays and Fridays) until September 11, after which Aer Lingus will conclude this summer season and traffic to Croatia.

Direct flights of other airlines

Travelers still have several options for direct travel between Ireland and Croatia. The well-known low-cost airline, Ryanair, will operate throughout September on two routes from Dublin to Croatia:

Dublin - Split line continues to operate twice a week, on Tuesdays and Saturdays,

Dublin - Dubrovnik line continues to operate twice a week, on Wednesdays and Sundays.

The Croatian national airline will also continue to operate on the route Zagreb - Dublin, three flights a week have been announced, every Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday, with an A319 aircraft with a capacity of 144 seats.

This news comes one day after popular low-cost airline easyJet announced it would not operate on 20 international routes to four Croatian airports in September. The company will thus suspend certain lines earlier than planned, solely due to weak demand.

February 17, 2020 - The latest news from around Croatia’s airports for new flights to Croatia with updates from Rijeka, Dubrovnik, and Zadar. 

Avio Radar reports that Latvian national carrier AirBaltic has announced that is will reinforce the new route from Lithuania to Rijeka - Vilnius-Rijeka, which has already been scheduled for one flight per week, on Thursdays, with traffic starting in May this year. 

However, the airline has strengthened the new route before it has even launched, with an additional second flight per week, on Saturdays, from June 6 to September 26, 2020.  The Airbus A220-300 will service this line. 

Furthermore, Avio Radar adds that Irish national carrier Are Lingus will strengthen the Cork-Dubrovnik route in the 2020 summer fight schedule. The line first began operating last year with two flights a week, on Tuesdays and Saturdays. 

In the peak season, the third flight per week has been introduced, on Thursdays, from July 2 to August 27. An Airbus A320 aircraft will fly on this line. 

Finally, Avio Radar reports that German low-cost carrier Eurowings will fly four flights from Germany to Zadar instead of Split over the next two weeks. This is because of the reconstruction of the runway in Split. 

Thus, Eurowings has decided to divert all its lines to Zadar from February 17 to March 1, 2020. Tickets for all diverted routes from Dusseldorf, Cologne, Munich and Stuttgart to Zadar are on sale in booking systems. 

Recall, Avio Radar reported last week that regular international flights from Zagreb to Sofia are scheduled from May 1 to the end of October this year. This service will run three times a week, on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, and will operate using the 76-seater Dash 8-Q400 aircraft. 

Two days later, on May 3,  2020,regular international flights on the Zagreb-Podgorica route will be introduced on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays. Flights will also be operated by the Dash 8-Q400 aircraft. As of today, return airline tickets are sold on both routes. 

Compared to the last tourist season, where Croatia Airlines had a fleet of 14 aircraft (12 of their own and 2 chartered CRJ 1000 aircraft), they will enter this season with one additional aircraft. Based on a long-term dry lease, the fleet will include a 150-seat Airbus 319 in late March and an additional 76-seat Dash 8-Q400 in late April to support unplanned traffic disruptions. In addition, from April to October, a short lease (wet-lease) of one CRJ 1000 aircraft by the Spanish air carrier Air Nostrum is also planned.

Organized by representatives of HTZ in London and the Tourist Board of Dubrovnik, the Irish national air carrier Aer Lingus and Cork Airport promoted Dubrovnik in Ireland's second-largest city, which was attended by more than 80 travel agents, reports HRTurizam on March 15, 2019. 

Introducing the new direct Aer Lingus service between Cork and Dubrovnik, which will run twice a week starting May 4, representatives of Aer Lingus and Cork Airport, Jenny Rafter and Brian Gallagher, highlighted the above-average expectations regarding the availability of the new service.

"This event has proven to be an excellent example of exchanging experiences and ideas of the tourism and aviation industry of Croatia and Ireland. We have extremely high expectations regarding the availability of direct flights and with great impatience we await their launch in May. The enormous response of the agents added confirmation that Dubrovnik is an exciting destination in Ireland and we expect that interest will be reflected throughout Croatia,” said Brian Gallagher.

“We were expecting about forty agents and media, and it was twice as big, which is proof of the incredible appetite of the Irish tourist market for Dubrovnik. Ireland is ready for something new and different, and Dubrovnik meets all the requirements to become the main favorite among Irish tourists,” added Jenny Rafter.

"This interactive and educational event has confirmed that Dubrovnik as a destination keeps pace with the trends dominated by cultural and entertainment content and authentic eno-gastronomic experiences. If we add to the fact that the Irish economy is on the upward path, and the Irish tourists are still large consumers looking for new and inspiring destinations, Dubrovnik has the potential to establish itself as this year's hit destination on the Irish market,” concluded Ivana Shiell, representative of the Croatian National Tourist Board in London.

A presentation was held for the agents which revealed the comprehensive potential of the destination, from the vibrant historical and cultural heritage to tourist capacities and numerous events throughout the year. According to the Dubrovnik Tourist Board, this successful evening was aimed at convincing the agents of the quality and authenticity of Dubrovnik’s wine and gastronomy offer alongside Dubrovnik’s specialties, Croatian wines and the sounds of klapa music. 

Aer Lingus now connects Ireland and Croatia with direct flights from Split, Pula, and Dubrovnik.
