September the 28th, 2022 - The very well known air company Any France is launching flights from Zagreb Airport to various international destinations at slashed prices over the coming days.

As Poslovni Dnevnik writes, this year, the airline company Air France is offering a large number of destinations for travellers from Zagreb Airport at reduced prices in the company's brand new Le Rendez Vous campaign.

Ticket prices for long-haul destinations across the pond in the United States, Canada and the Caribbean have been reduced. Promotional destinations include major metropolises such as New York, Miami, Los Angeles, but also exotic destinations such as Mauritius, Cancun, Saint Martin and Bangkok.

If you have always wanted to visit a faraway or exotic destination or perhaps take advantage of a weekend tour of one of the European destinations in Air France's promotional campaign, it is now easy and much cheaper to do so from Zagreb Airport.

The Air France Le Rendez Vous promotional campaign is set to run from September the 27th to October the 6th, 2022, and tickets can be used until March the 31st, 2023. The offer is also valid for return tickets, and the price includes all taxes.

April 9, 2021 - The latest flight news for Croatia as Air France flights to Dubrovnik increase this summer, while the Paris-Zagreb route will not see the addition of a second daily flight. 

Croatian Aviation reports that Air France has revised its summer flight schedule for this year, with changes on the routes to Croatian airports. The French national carrier maintains a year-round line between Paris and Zagreb, and in the summer, it also operates to Split and Dubrovnik.

No second daily flight to Zagreb

Back in January 2020, the company announced that it would introduce a second daily flight between Zagreb and Paris. Of course, this did not happen after the pandemic outbreak, but the company resumed traffic on this line in June last year.

Since March this year, Dutch KLM operates twice a day on the line between Amsterdam and Zagreb, and since KLM and Air France are in the same group, it was to be expected that Air France will withdraw its second daily flight, which has now happened.

Namely, until just a few days ago, Air France offered a second daily flight on the route to Zagreb Airport from June this year, but they are no longer available for booking. Instead of two, Air France will have one daily flight on the Paris - Zagreb - Paris (Charles de Gaulle Airport) route, while two daily flights will be operated by the aforementioned partner company KLM on the route to Amsterdam.

The Croatian national airline - Croatia Airlines - also operates on the routes from Amsterdam and Paris from Zagreb. There are currently no carriers other than those mentioned on these lines.

Return to Split and increase in traffic to Dubrovnik

On the last day of May, Air France will resume traffic on the Paris - Split - Paris route. The company will operate daily on this route only from July 1, although initially, daily flights were available from May 31. Air France will offer on average between 2 and 4 flights a week to Split Airport until July. 

From the same date (May 31), the company plans to renew the Paris - Dubrovnik - Paris line as well. It will initially operate with two flights a week, gradually increasing the number of weekly operations. From the beginning of July, daily flights have been announced on this route, while Air France will operate as many as 11 times a week between Paris and Dubrovnik Airport from the middle of the same month.

Of course, these flights will primarily depend on the epidemiological situation in both countries. Still, the positive news is that Air France will resume traffic to Split and Dubrovnik, with the intention of increasing the number of operations to Dubrovnik Airport.

Air France currently plans to use E190 aircraft and aircraft from the A320 family, with A318 aircraft announced for Dubrovnik, a rarity in the European sky, considering that only 80 of them have been sold in total.

December 11, 2020 - The latest news for flights to Croatia as Air France reduces Paris-Zagreb in December.

Croatian Aviation reports that French national carrier Air France has reduced the number of weekly flights between Paris and Zagreb this month.

Although Air France originally planned to operate more frequently to Zagreb in December this year, this is not the case. The airline currently operates only two flights a week on this route, which is not surprising given that the airline from the same group, Dutch KLM, with which Air France works closely, currently operates daily to Zagreb.

By the end of December, Air France will operate only 7 return flights on the Paris - Zagreb - Paris route. The airline currently operates on this route twice a week, on Wednesdays and Saturdays, with E190 aircraft that have a capacity of 100 passengers in the fleet of this carrier.

The airline decided to add just one flight around the Christmas holidays, on Monday, December 21. Given the capacity of the aircraft used by Air France on this route, 1,400 seats between Paris and Zagreb are available until the end of December.

Direct flights are available on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays.

Recall that Croatia Airlines operates on the same route, on Thursdays and Sundays, and an additional flight is on sale on Tuesday, December 22. If we add the capacity of the national airline until the end of the month, a total of two mentioned carriers on this route will offer slightly less than 2500 seats (2464), which, given the epidemiological situation, should be more than enough even during Christmas and New Year holidays. 

Air France is currently offering two daily flights to Zagreb in the summer flight schedule in 2021, but it will be seen whether these flights will be realized.

October 20, 2020 - The latest news for flights to Croatia as Air France operates five times a week to Zagreb in November from Paris. A look at the winter schedule. 

Croatian Aviation reports that in the announcement of the winter flight schedule, on October 2, Air France announced daily flights on the Paris - Zagreb route. The company has reduced the number of weekly flights on this route for November.

Air France returned to Zagreb on July 1 and has since operated regularly between Paris and Zagreb, changing the number of weekly flights on this route from month to month, depending on demand and travel restrictions between the two countries.

In the first week of October, the company announced daily flights on this route in the winter months ahead, but in the last week of October, from October 26 to 31, the company will operate between Paris and Zagreb three times a week (Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays), as announced earlier.

From November 1, Air France offers five flights a week on this route, every day except Tuesdays and Sundays, which provides passengers from Zagreb with a large number of connections via Paris to further destinations in Europe and the world.

Terminals 2E, 2F and 2AC are currently in operation at Charles de Gaulle Airport, from which all domestic and international traffic takes place. The airport will put the other terminals back into operation as needed, following an increase in aircraft and passenger operations.

In November, E190 aircraft with a capacity of 100 passengers in the fleet of this carrier will operate on the Paris - Zagreb route. Five flights a week is currently a satisfactory weekly frequency that allows passengers from Zagreb with one stop in Paris to continue their journey to more than a hundred destinations across Europe and the world.

October 8, 2020 -  The latest news for flights to Croatia as Air France makes changes to Zagreb and Dubrovnik services.

Croatian Aviation reports that Air France has announced daily flights on the Zagreb - Paris route for October this year. Due to the impact of the pandemic, the company canceled certain departures on this line, a total of 7, from October 12 to 31. Certain flights on the route to Dubrovnik were also canceled.

We bring you the current flight schedule until the end of October.

Air France to Zagreb

Air France will operate four times a week (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday) during the week of October 12-18, while flights on Thursday, Friday, and Sunday have been canceled.

In the week of October 19-25, the company will operate five times a week (Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday), and flights were canceled on Tuesday and Thursday.

In the last week of October, from October 26 to 31, the company will operate 3 times a week (Tuesday, Friday, and Saturday), while flights on Wednesday and Thursday are canceled.

Air France to Dubrovnik

Air France will operate on the Dubrovnik - Paris route on October 11, 14, 17, 21, and 24. The original plan of the company was to operate regularly on this route 3 times a week, on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays until the end of the summer flight schedule, but the company made some changes and reduced the number of weekly flights on this route.

In total, by the end of October, the company will operate 5 more flights on the Dubrovnik - Paris route, which will then end its operations for this summer season.

Air France flies to 67 destinations in Europe, which is the usual network of destinations of this airline in the winter flight schedule. Air France allows its passengers a refund for canceled flights. Passengers can change the date of travel and destination or choose a voucher for future travel or request a refund in full. This policy applies to all tickets purchased by March 31 of the following year.

Air France has confirmed that it will operate on the Zagreb - Paris route in the winter months, announcing daily flights between the two cities, but their realization will depend on the state of reservations, and demand on this route is drastically lower due to the global pandemic.

September 16, 2020 - The latest news for flights to Croatia as Air France announces to Zagreb and Dubrovnik this October, and AirBaltic launches postseason routes to Split and Dubrovnik. 

Croatian Aviation reports that AirBaltic has announced a line to Split and Dubrovnik in the postseason.

As we wrote earlier, the company made its last flight from Riga to Split in August (more precisely, on August 21) and canceled all flights after that date for this season.

However, AirBaltic announced that from this week, it would offer flights to as many as 37 destinations in Europe, including Dubrovnik and Split. Judging by the new flight schedule, AirBaltic will operate on the Riga - Split line from this Friday, September 18, once a week until the end of the month. Direct flights on this line are announced even in October, also on Fridays, until October 23, when this line should stop operating for this year.

The same goes for the Riga - Dubrovnik line. The company made its last flight on August 20 and canceled all flights after that date. But on September 14, the connection between the two airports was re-established. Flights in the post-season should operate once a week, every Monday, until October 19 this year.

The Riga - Rijeka line is not in traffic, while the Vilnius - Dubrovnik line has been operating regularly all this time. The last flight on this line has been announced for September 25. 

Furthermore, Croatian Aviation reports that Air France has made operational changes to its flight schedule by the end of October this year. This well-known airline will continue to operate to Dubrovnik and Zagreb next month.

In July, Air France launched its international routes from Paris (Charles de Gaulle Airport) to Zagreb, Split and Dubrovnik. Since then, the routes have operated regularly without significant cancellations of individual departures.

The traffic on the lines to Croatia increased at the end of July, and the company had 34 weekly flights until the end of August. Namely, on the last day of August, the Paris - Split route stopped operating, on which Air France ran as many as 6 times a week.

Even before the outbreak of the pandemic, the company announced the introduction of a second flight a day to Zagreb (a total of 14 flights a week), but the plan was suspended after the lockdown. The company then planned to fly twice a day to Zagreb four times a week, but only a few flights were made and after that, they were withdrawn from sale.

At the beginning of September, Air France reduced its traffic to Dubrovnik (from 4 to 3 weeks of flight), while traffic to Zagreb remained the same, with one flight a day. According to current announcements, this flight schedule will be in effect until the end of October.

Namely, the Paris - Dubrovnik line is on sale 3 times a week through October, Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday (until October 24 this year). The Paris - Zagreb route should operate daily through October, but it remains to be seen whether Air France will reduce the number of weekly flights on this route in the winter flight schedule, which will be in effect from the end of next month.

February 4, 2020 - The latest news from around Croatia’s airports for new flights to Croatia with updates from Zadar, Dubrovnik, and Split. 

Ex Yu Aviation and Avio Radar report that Ryanair has added its 12th new route and 34th total to Zadar for the summer season. Namely, Ryanair will connect Budapest with Zadar twice per week, on Thursdays and Sundays, from July 2 until September 27, 2020. The Boeing 737-800 aircraft will operate on this route. Avio Radar adds that this is only the second line from Hungary to Croatia. 

Recall, Lauda, which is Ryanair’s subsidiary, will base three aircraft at Zadar Airport in the summer. Around 672,000 passengers are expected to use Ryanair to fly to and from Zadar in 2020. 

Recall, Zadar Airport, also expects over one million in 2020. 

“Having welcomed 800,000 travelers in 2019 is a big achievement for us. It is a milestone. However, new records will be broken in 2020,” said Zadar Airport General Manager, Josip Klišmanić. “During our first fifty years of operations, we handled under a million passengers annually. This will no longer be the case in 2020,” he added. In 2019, Zadar Airport handled 801,347 passengers, which is an additional 197,308 compared to 2018. 

Zadar Airport will thus become the fourth airport in the country to welcome one million passengers in a single year, after Zagreb, Split and Dubrovnik.

Furthermore, Avio Radar reports that SkyTeam member and French national carrier Air France has announced that it is boosting operations to Dubrovnik and Split. 

The Paris (Rossy-Charles de Gaulle Airport)-Dubrovnik route will operate daily in 2020. Namely, the line will begin operating on March 29, a week earlier than last year. At the same time, during the preseason, it will work twice a week, on Saturdays and Sundays, or one flight a week more than last year. 

During the heart of the season, Dubrovnik and Paris will be connected by seven flights per week instead of the five routes last year. The Airbus A318, A319, and A320 will run on this line.

The Paris (Rossy-Charles de Gaulle Airport)-Split line will run six flights per week, or every day but Saturday. This is twice as many flights as last year when the two cities were connected by Air France three times per week. The smaller Embraer ERJ-190 will fly on this line. Last year, the Airbus A319 aircraft flew on this route.

January 23, 2020 - The latest news from around Croatia’s airports for new flights to Croatia with updates from Zagreb and Rijeka.

Avio Radar reports that the new Danish carrier Great Dane Airlines will fly on a new charter line from Denmark to Rijeka. Namely, the line will operate this offseason between Copenhagen and Rijeka, on Tuesdays and Thursdays from September 10 to October 15. 

This service is operated by Best Travel tourist agency, and is also the airline's first charter flight to Croatia. The Embraer ERJ-195 will fly on this route. It is also currently the only direct route from Denmark to Rijeka. 

Avio Radar also reports that Tunisia’s national carrier Tunisair will again fly on the Zagreb-Monastir charter service, which will operate once a week, on Wednesdays, from May. 27 to October 7, 2020. The line was last in service in 2014, and will currently be the only direct line from Croatia to any destination in Tunisia. An Airbus A320 aircraft will operate on this line.

Furthermore, HRTurizam writes that beginning May 4, 2020, Air France is offering another direct flight from Zagreb to Paris.

In addition to the existing two direct flights, one of which is in cooperation with Croatia Airlines, a total of three flights to Paris are on offer on daily. The new flight allows passengers to depart and return to Paris in one day, but also to board a flight to North America.

Namely, the new airline will provide quality connectivity to North America for all travelers continuing to these destinations, which is certainly an interesting combination and a benefit for Croatian tourism.

"I am very pleased to introduce this additional flight with a night stop in Zagreb. This flight offers excellent connectivity via Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport to other destinations. Going to Paris and returning to Zagreb on the same day is an added benefit for Croatian travelers. With the new Alloff flight schedule, you can more easily access - among other things - North American destinations, such as New York, Atlanta, Boston, Los Angeles, San Francisco or Seattle and Vancouver,” said Ildiko Kiss Country Manager for Croatia, Serbia and Slovenia.

The new flight will be operated by Airbus 319/320 with 137/166 seats.

January 12, 2020 - The latest news from around Croatia’s airports for new flights to Croatia with updates from Zagreb, Dubrovnik, and Split.

Ex Yu Aviation reports that Air France announced that it is boosting its service between Paris and Zagreb, adding a second daily flight for this summer. Thus, Air France will operate from Paris to Zagreb in the morning and evening every day this summer out of Charles de Gaulle Airport. The new service will begin in May. 

Recall, Croatia Airlines already operates one daily service from Zagreb to Paris. 

In other flight news, we should see significant growth between Croatia and Greece this summer. Namely, Ex Yu Aviation reports that this is due to more destinations, higher capacity and three airlines operating between the two countries. This news comes after Aegean Airlines submitted a nonbinding bid to acquire Croatia Airlines. Thus, Aegean will increase capacity on all of its routes to Croatia this summer. 

Aegean will run three services per week between Athens and Zagreb, using the Airbus A319 twice per week and the A320 once per week. Aegean will exclusively use the A320 on its five flights to Dubrovnik, while the A319 will service Split four times per week. Aegean has also expanded its codeshare partnership with Air Serbia to include Dubrovnik, Pula, Rijeka, Split, Zadar and Zagreb. 

Ex Yu Aviation adds that Croatia Airlines will operate from Zagreb to Athens via Dubrovnik six times per week. This route will be serviced by Dash 8s and Air Nostrum Bombardier CRJ1000 jets.

Spanish low-cost carrier Volotea will operate three flights per week between Athens and Dubrovnik this summer, while a new service between Athens and Split will run twice per week starting April 19, and a new route from Mykonos to Dubrovnik from May 30. As reported earlier, this is the first time Croatia will be linked with a Greek city other than Athens. 

“These are very attractive additions for a very dynamic market in which we believe there is still good room for growth,” said Carlos Munoz, CEO and Founder of Volotea.

Over thirty-three thousand Greek tourists visited Croatia in 2018.
