ZAGREB, 18 March (2022) - The average net pay in legal entities in Croatia in January 2022 was HRK 7,378 (€975), which is a nominal increase of 5.7% compared to January 2022, while in real terms the pay remained the same, data from the national statistical office (DZS) indicate.
Compared to wages in December 2021, the average net wage for January was up by 1.3% in nominal terms and up by 1% in real terms.
The median net pay in January was HRK 6,175 (€816), which means that half of the people employed earned wages below that amount and half earned wages above that amount.
The highest average monthly net pay in legal entities in January was reported in air transport, amounting to HRK 11,569, while the lowest was paid in clothing manufacturing, HRK 4,856.

ZAGREB, 13 Dec 2021 - The average net monthly salary in Zagreb for September 2021 was HRK 8,205 (€1,095), up 5.5% on the year, the city said on Monday.
The average net monthly salary in Croatia for September 2021 was HRK 7,108 and amounted to 87% of the average take-home pay in the capital city for that month.
In Zagreb, the highest average net monthly salary was paid in crude oil and natural gas extraction, in the amount of HRK 13,465, while the lowest was in the manufacture of leather and similar products (HRK 4,524).
The average gross monthly salary in Zagreb for September 2021 amounted to HRK 11,354, up 3.5% on the year.

The average wage in the capital city was HRK 1,134 higher than the national average, which totalled HRK 7,118 (€948).
The highest average monthly net pay in legal entities in Zagreb was paid in oil and natural gas extraction (HRK 14,408) and the lowest in the production of leather and related products (HRK 4,471).
The average monthly gross pay in legal entities in Zagreb in August this year was HRK 11,474 (€1,528), an increase of 4.9% from August 2020.

The highest average net wage in legal entities was paid in crude petroleum and natural gas extraction, amounting to HRK 13,408.

ZAGREB, 20 July, 2021 - For May 2021, the average monthly net earnings per person in paid employment in legal entities in Croatia amounted to HRK 7,104, nominally higher by 6.7% and really by 4.5% as compared to the same month last year, the national statistical office said on Tuesday.
As compared to April 2021, the nominal increase was 0.3% and the real one 0.2%.
The highest average monthly net earnings per person in paid employment in legal entities for May 2021 were paid in Manufacture of coke and refined petroleum products (HRK 10,756), while the lowest were paid in Manufacture of wearing apparel (HRK 4,401).
Median net earnings for May 2021 amounted to HRK 5,966 kuna.
For May 2021, the average monthly gross earnings per person in paid employment in legal entities amounted to HRK 9,553, a nominal increase of 0.3% and a real one of 0.2% as compared to April 2021.
The average monthly gross earnings per person in paid employment in legal entities were nominally higher by 5.4% and really by 3.2% for May 2021 as compared to the same month last year.
The average monthly net earnings per hour for May 2021 amounted to HRK 41.57, which was 4.3% higher than in April 2021. As compared to the same month last year, they increased by 6.3%.
The average monthly gross earnings per hour for May 2021 amounted to HRK 55.90, which was 4.3% higher than in April 2021. As compared to the same month last year, they increased by 5%.
In May 2021, there were 167 paid hours on average, decreasing by 4% as compared to April 2021. The greatest number of paid hours was recorded in the Human health activities (178) and the smallest one in Social work activities without accommodation (152).

ZAGREB, 15 July 2021 - The average net pay of employees in legal entities in the city of Zagreb in April 2021 totaled HRK 8,266, which is an increase of 7.7% in the nominal terms year-on-year, show data provided by Zagreb's City Office for the Strategic Planning and the Development.
Compared with Croatia's average monthly net salary in April, which was HRK 7,082, the average net salary in Zagreb was higher by HRK 1,184.
The highest average monthly net pay in legal entities in Zagreb in April, which was HRK 15,313, was paid in the crude oil and gas extraction industry.
The lowest average salary for April in the capital city was paid in the clothes-making sector, HRK 4,510.

Compared with March 2021, the average net wage was lower by 0.8% in nominal terms and by 1.5% in real terms.
The highest average monthly net salary per person employed in legal entities for April 2021 was paid in Extraction of crude petroleum and natural gas, amounting to HRK 11,652, and the lowest was paid in Manufacture of wearing apparel, amounting to HRK 4,361.
The average monthly gross salary in April 2021 was HRK 9,529, which is a decrease of 0.7% in nominal terms and of 1.4% in real terms compared to March. Compared to April 2020, the average gross pay was higher by 5.2% in nominal terms and by 3% in real terms.

April 23, 2021 - Data analyzed by the Croatian Bureau of Statistics saw Croatian Employment in March 2021 rise compared to February but is overall lower than last year.
Employment in Croatia is overall down for 1.5% - concludes an article in Slobodna Dalmacija. This is the result of a statistical analysis conducted for this year's March compared to March 2020. The biggest fall in employment is evident in the hotel industry and hospitality. Last March, 410 people were employed in the sector, adding to the total number of 61,913, but that number is smaller for 5,087 people compared to last year when the number of employed in hotel tourism and hospitality counted 67,000.
„Compared to February, the total number of employed (in March) is up by 0.8% but compared to the same month last year; the numbers are down by 1.5%“, Slobodna Dalmacija quoted the explanation of Croatian Bureau of Statistics.
The process manufacturing industry also counts losses. Despite 2,129 newly employed people who boosted 225,287 workers in the sector, that number is down by 2000 workers less as last year the count was 227,287.
Merchants count a rise of 803 new workers, 201,117 in total. But, this time last year the total number was 205,167, so this year's there are 4,050 people less in the sector.
On the other hand, several sectors can celebrate victory over statistics from 2020.
The construction sector hired 1,060 new workers. 100,234 people in total this year gives a 5924 boost compared to last year's 195,193 employed people.
Education has 1,094 new workers this month, 120,246 in total. This time last year's there were 117,891 people in total, which suggest 2,355 people increase.
Public service, social security, and defense sectors increase by 648 people to a total of 111,785. In conclusion, 1,325 more people are welcomed to the sector, compared to 2020 when there was 110460 in the mentioned sectors.
Expectedly, health and social care sectors in March counted 102,636 employed, which is a 1,392 increase compared to last year's 101,244 employed people.
In absolute numbers, the mentioned sectors had the biggest influence on the total rise of employment in Croatia last month, which jumped to 11,302 people, 1,518,034 in total.
The Bureau added that when counting all minuses and pluses, last year's numbers are better, but the progress is happening in this year nonetheless.

ZAGREB, 13 March 2021 - The average wage earned in December in the City of Zagreb totalled HRK 8,162, rising 6.9% in nominal terms in comparison to December 2019, according to data recently provided by the city's office for the development of Zagreb.
Thus, December's average take-home pay in the capital city was 1,163 kuna or 14.25% higher than the Croatian average wage of HRK 6,999 for the last month of 2020.
Broken down by type of activity, Zagreb's highest average net pay for December was in the exploitation of crude oil and natural gas sector, amounting to HRK 20,283.
The average gross salary for December in Croatia's capital city was HRK 11,305, up 5.2% on the year.
