Croatian Women's Bowling Team Wins Bronze At World Bowling Championship

ZAGREB, 19 May 2022 - The Croatian national women's bowling team on Wednesday won a bronze medal at the World Bowling Championship in Elva, Estonia, having knocked over 3,541 pins.

The gold went to the German team, which knocked over 3,650 pins and the silver to the Slovenian team, which had a score of 3,543.

Croatia's Ljutić Takes Bronze In World Junior Alpine Ski Championships Giant Slalom

ZAGREB, 10 March 2022 - Croatian ski racer Zrinka Ljutić won a bronze medal in the women's giant slalom at the FIS Alpine World Junior Championships in Panorama Mount Resort, Canada on Wednesday.

The gold went to Magdalena Egger of Austria, who was by 1.01 seconds faster than Ljutić, and the silver to Emma Aicher of Germany, who was by 0.22 seconds slower than Egger.

On Tuesday, the 18-year-old Ljutić became the world champion in the slalom event.

Croatian Shot Putter Filip Mihaljević Wins Bronze at European Indoor Championships

ZAGREB, 6 March, 2021 - Croatian Filip Mihaljević grabbed a bronze medal at the European Athletics Indoor Championships in the Polish city of Torun on Friday evening, with a throw of 21.31 metres.

Czech Republic’s Tomas Stanek became the European champion with his fifth round mark of 21.62m, while home favourite Michal Haratyk finished second with a throw of 21.47 metres. Polish Haratyk is the current European track and field outdoor champion in the shot put event.

Mihaljević is now the second Croatian track and field athlete to win a medal at European indoor championships. Before him it was runner Branko Zorko with a bronze medal in the 1,500 metre race at the  22nd European Athletics Indoor Championships in Genoa, Italy, in 1992, and a silver two years later in Paris in the same event.
