Trilj Summer Program Announced, Events Begin June 8!

At the hotel Sveti Mihovil in Trilj, a press conference was held where the ‘Trilj Summer Program’ was presented. In addition to mayor Ivan Šipić, the conference was attended by the director of the Trilj Tourist Board Andriana Ivković, the head of the City of Trilj Marko Župa and the president of the City Council of Trilj Ivana Živaljić, reports Dalmacija Danas on June 5, 2019.

At the very beginning, mayor Ivan Šipić pointed out the activities that the City of Trilj has undertaken concerning planning Trilj center and enhancing the quality of tourist infrastructure, with particular emphasis on arranging cycling paths and walking trails.

“Every year you have witnessed that in the case of arrivals and overnight stays in the Trilj region, we have had more than a 100 percent increase in four years. Of course, this requires more quality content and better infrastructure,” said the mayor.

To further enrich the tourist offer, they have devised a vibrant Trilj summer program.

“All of our villages that have their own cultural associations have received significant support through our budget, but also, the City of Trilj and the Tourist Board with their partners and sponsors have designed a high-quality program, for younger to more serious visitors, patriotic to serious music lovers. All this contributes not only to the beautiful image of Trilj but also to the content that must grow year after year and be as good as possible and better,” said Šipić.

The 'Trilj Summer Cultural Program' starts on Saturday, June 8, when Trilj will host the 9th Folklore Festival of the Split-Dalmatia County. Until September, the people of Trilj and their guests will be able to enjoy numerous music events, including the 3rd Thrill Blues Festival and the concerts of Mate Bulic, Miroslav Škoro, and Marko Perković Thompson.

“On July 20, we will have a spectacular concert by Marko Perković Thompson. This concert will be humanitarian in a way that we will help the family of a Croatian defender. The City of Trilj will donate funds from ticket sales directly to the Red Cross account to help the family who lost their father, a Croatian defender, on the Trilj bridge a few months ago,” emphasized Šipić.

Director of the Trilj Tourist Board Andriana Ivković also spoke about the increase of the quality of tourist services in the area.

“In 2014 we had two holiday homes, and in 2019 we have 35. It shows that there is more and more interest in this area. And that is the long-term aim for us, to turn more and more people into tourism, to get everyone from the OPGs to restaurants and the local population, so that anyone that visits can taste all the charms of this region,” Ivković concluded.
