ZAGREB, April 20, 2018 - Croatia recorded for the first time a general government surplus of 2.7 billion kuna in 2017, while the debt to GDP ratio fell below 78%, figures from the national statistical office (DZS) show.

ZAGREB, January 24, 2018 - At the end of the third quarter of 2017, Croatia's government debt totaled 291.6 billion kuna, 4.2 billion more than in Q2, as a result of which the government debt to GDP ratio increased from 80.9 to 81%, according to Eurostat data released on Wednesday.
ZAGREB, January 24, 2018 - At the end of November 2017, there were 322,782 Croatians whose bank accounts had been frozen due to default payments, owing a total of 42.80 billion kuna, and Zagreb had the largest number of debtors - 63,316, owing 12.36 billion kuna.
