134 Cadets Promoted At Croatian Military Academy

June 25th, 2021 - President Zoran Milanović attended a promotion ceremony for 134 cadets at the Croatian Military Academy in Zagreb on Friday, saying that in their future work, they should "safeguard the Constitution, the holy scripture of the Croatian state."

Among the cadets who completed training programs for commissioned and non-commissioned officers were 11 cadets from the Croatian Army, one from the Ministry of the Interior, one from the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs, one from the Croatian Fire Service, as well as 20 from foreign countries (10 from Bosnia and Herzegovina, 2 from Montenegro, 2 from Kosovo, 4 from North Macedonia and 2 from Slovenia.). Among them were also 24 women, who accounted for 20 percent of the cadets.

Milanović said he was pleased to see the cadets from the neighboring countries and welcomed the government's idea to establish a defense and security university.

Defence Minister Mario Banožić said that the knowledge the cadets had gained at the Military Academy was of great importance. Building an alliance and partnership with the armed forces of other countries was an opportunity to promote international relations and security further.

Banožić said that the law establishing the defense and security university would lay the foundation for an important segment of education that would guarantee the sustainability and quality of personnel in the defense and homeland security system.
