Serbian Extremist Šešelj Fails to Hold Controversial Rally

ZAGREB, May 6, 2018 - Serbian Radical Party (SRS) leader Vojislav Šešelj said in Jarak on Sunday he came to provoke the regime and not to intimidate Croats in Hrtkovci, a village in the northern Serbian province of Vojvodina. "None of the Croats in Hrtkovci are in danger," he told a press conference he held in front of a police cordon, adding that Croats made up only 10% of the village population.

Serbian Police Block Access to Šešelj’s Rally

ZAGREB, May 6, 2018 - Serbian police on Saturday blocked access to the village of Hrtkovci, Belgrade media said, a day before a rally announced by ultra-nationalist anti-Croat politician Vojislav Šešelj and counter-rallies by two opposition parties which are against his policy of intimidation of local Croats.

Serbian Police Adamant to Ban Extremist Šešelj’s Rally

ZAGREB, May 4, 2018 - The Serbian Radical Party (SRS) headed by war crimes convict Vojisla Šešelj hasn't given up on its idea to hold a rally in Hrtkovci on May 6 despite the Interior Ministry's ban of the rally in that village in Vojvodina, Serbia, from which Croats were expelled during the 1990s.

President Talks with Leader of Croats in Serbia

ZAGREB, April 24, 2018 - Croatian President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović received the leader of the Democratic Alliance of Vojvodina Croats (DSHV) Tomislav Žigmanov on Monday in Zagreb for talks on how the issues are being resolved to improve the status of ethnic Croats in Serbia, according to a press release issued by the Office of the President.

Croatia Provides Support to Croats in Vojvodina

ZAGREB, April 22, 2018 - An agreement was signed in Sremska Mitrovica, Serbia, on Saturday between the Croatian government and the Croatian National Council (HNV) in Serbia on a donation for the "Hrvatska Riječ" (Croatian Word) publishing company which will be used to buy land in Subotica and will enable the combining of premises for the HNV and the Institute for Culture of Vojvodina Croats.

Croatia Condemns War Criminal Vojislav Šešelj’s Threats

ZAGREB, April 14, 2018 - The Croatian Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs on Friday strongly condemned threats which Serbian convicted war criminal Vojislav Šešelj had made against Tomislav Žigmanov, president of the Democratic Alliance of Croats in Vojvodina and a member of the Serbian parliament, and Nenad Čanak, president of the League of Social Democrats of Vojvodina, urging Serbia to take legal action against such outbursts of hatred and threats.

Vojislav Šešelj Makes Threats against Croat Leader in Serbia

ZAGREB, April 13, 2018 - Serbian Radical Party leader Vojislav Šešelj, who was given ten years' prison sentence by the Appeals Chamber of the Mechanism for International Criminal Tribunals (MICT) for war crimes against Croats in the early 1990s, said on Thursday that he was ready to repeat his crimes, this time against two lawmakers in the Serbian parliament - ethnic Croat leader Tomislav Žigmanov and Nenad Čanak, leader of the centre-left League of the Social Democrats of Vojvodina.
