The World's Biggest Welcome, an ambitious adventure tourism project in 2011 in Croatia enters Day 30 of this 2019 appreciation of one of the finest tourism promotion projects ever in Croatia.  

The plan? To showcase the diversity and fabulous offer of adventure tourism in Croatia by following a GPS route the length of the Croatian coast in the shape of the word 'Welcome' - thereby creating the biggest welcome in the world from a hospitable tourism country. 

Day 30 moved from Sali to Kurba Vela on foot and kayak. 

52 kilometres for the day: 10 km on foot from Sali to Telaščica, followed by a 42 km kayak ride from Telaščica to Kurba Vela to continue forming the ‘C’ in ‘Welcome’.

Day 29 moved from Zadar to Sali by kayak and on foot. 

27 kilometres for the day: 6 km from Zadar to Kali by kayak, followed by 3 km on foot from Kali to Ugljan Plaža, before another 18 km kayak ride from Ugljan Plaža to Sali to continue forming the ‘C’ in ‘Welcome’.

Day 29 started on the Zadar Riva.

Day 28 moved from NP Paklenica to Zadar by kayak and bike.

35 kilometres for the day: 10 km from Starigrad Paklenica to Ražanac by kayak, followed by a 25 km bike ride from Ražanac to Zadar to continue forming the ‘C’ in ‘Welcome’.

Day 28 began with  Lacko setting off towards Razanac.

Day 27 continued in NP Paklenica for day two of big wall speed climbing. 

No significant movements were made on this day as Lacko and his team continued enjoying the Big Wall Speed Climbing competition in the Velika Paklenica canyon. They are currently forming the ‘C’ in ‘Welcome’ on their journey. 

According to NP Paklenica, the “Big Wall Speed Climbing” competition has been going on in the canyon of Velika Paklenica since 2000. There are only a few rules to join the competition, like being over 18 years old and having teams that consist of two male, female, or mixed members. 

This year, the upcoming 20th International Climbers' Meeting and the “Big Wall Speed Climbing” competition will take place from April 26 to 28, 2019.

Day 27 continued with the men's part of the competition.

Day 26 stayed in NP Paklenica for a day of big wall speed climbing.

Day 24 continued from Lovinac to Vaganski vrh on foot and bike. 

27 kilometres for the day: 20 km bicycle ride from Lovinac to Raduč, before 7 km on foot from Raduč to Vaganski vrh to continue forming the ‘C’ in ‘Welcome’.

Day 24 kicked off with Lacko and children from the Lovinac primary school.

Before looking at a map to see where their journey would take them next. 

They set out into the fog. 

And arrived in Raduč where Lacko nearly got attacked by a pack of wild dogs.

Which was worth it for the view over Lika.

Bunovac is a meadow in the middle of Velebit which unfortunately hasn't been cleared of all the mines. The hiking path is the only "clear" part of the area. Getting off the path is seriously dangerous and is strictly forbidden.

After taking a break on Day 21 and 22, Day 23 continued from Zrmanja Vrelo to Lovinac on foot and bike. 

55 kilometres for the day: And really, just 55 km on foot and by bicycle from Zrmanja Vrelo to Lovinac to begin forming the 'C' in 'Welcome'. 

After two days off, the journey continued at the spring of the Zrmanja river.

The Zrmanja river is located in Lika-Senj County and is 69 km long.

Day 18 moved on foot and kayak from Zavižan to Novalja. 

40 kilometres for the day: 20 km on foot from Zavižan to Jablanac, followed by a 20 km kayak ride from Jablanac to Novalja to continue forming the ‘L’ in ‘Welcome’.

Day 18 began at the Northern Velebit National Park.

Lacko claims the wind blew so hard at times it made it hard to breathe.
