August 27, 2021 - The Dobar Tek food delivery service keeps the Adriatic plastic-free with your orders!
The Dobar Tek food delivery service (dobartek.hr), the only Croatian-owned online food delivery service, is available in Šibenik, Split, Zagreb, Kaštela, Zadar, Solin, Sesvete, and Sinj. It offers more than 150 restaurants and is used by more than 100,000 registered users, reports Dalmatinski Portal.
To celebrate their 8th birthday, as part of the #EnjoyOffline initiative for a #PlasticFree Adriatic, they continue to preserve the cleanliness of the Croatian Adriatic.
Last year's promise, which stated that every dobartek.hr order results in at least one plastic bottle less in the Adriatic, has been kept.
For a year now, part of the funds from dobartek.hr orders have been set aside for cleaning the coast and marine world.
Nebojša Veron, the founder of dobartek.hr, said they had collected over 35,000 kuna that will be spent as part of the initiative.
"We are immensely grateful to our customers and partner restaurants who supported the #EnjoyOffline initiative for a #PlasticFree Adriatic! Although at first glance it seems that several people who make up one food delivery service cannot make a significant difference - they certainly can! By recognizing the importance of the initiative and raising awareness of the plastic waste surrounding us, we have already made a big step towards a cleaner Adriatic. Our work is not just about that, but we have been encouraging all our restaurants in recent years to increase the use of paper packaging, and we are trying to provide them with the same," said Veron.
After last year's cleaning action of Koločep in cooperation with Maritimo Recycling, this year they will continue with ecological actions, including cleaning Žnjan in Split, Molunat in Dubrovnik, and Drvenik.
They are joined by an experienced team of divers from UPA Rostrum from Split. The association itself is already known for its highly valued and strenuous environmental actions carried out to preserve the cleanliness of the seabed and beaches. UPA Rostrum is an excellent ally in the fight against plastic waste because it brings together excellent divers, has the right infrastructure, and has extremely great knowledge of cleaning the coast and seabed.
As mentioned, dobartek.hr celebrated their 8th birthday and on that occasion announced volunteer actions of cleaning the beaches as part of the initiative #EnjoyOffline for a #PlasticFree Adriatic.

September 30, 2019 - The Dobar Tek (dobartek.hr) platform enables fast and easy food ordering online and cooperates with more than 100 restaurants in several cities in Croatia. It is used daily by over 70,000 users.
Now, the popular online service has released a new product: Dobar Tek at work. Co-founder and CEO Nebojša Veron met with Dalmacija Danas to tell us more.
How did the idea come about for Dobar Tek at work?
“Ordering lunch at work is generally a sweet worry. Being able to order food online enhanced this experience because it eliminated telephone orders. However, it did not solve all the potential challenges. Namely, when there are a lot of people in the office, ordering can be a bit stressful because someone has to collect all orders and then order without skipping or forgetting something. Then, all the money to pay for the food should be collected. Managing cash on the spot can be a real hassle because it also involves a lot of squabbling and remembering who owes whom. Also, it is not uncommon for someone to be accidentally forgotten or for people to miss the delivery time that would suit them best. Thus, we have prepared a solution that has three key features:
- enabling group food ordering;
- issuing monthly invoices;
- providing records of orders and expenses.
Who is the primary candidate for Dobar Tek at work?
“We have developed a solution keeping in mind the employees who will use it to facilitate their daily ordering, but also the companies that provide their employees with hot meals. We wanted to address both needs, and we succeeded. Businesses that offer meals to their employees can easily do so thanks to monthly invoices, and monthly invoices also help employees who pay for the food themselves, as there is no longer the need to pay for the order daily.
Who can apply for Dobar Tek at work?
“Companies, but also employees of companies who often order food together at the office, can apply for dobartek.hr at work. Of course, it is not necessary for the order to be made by an official representative of the company. An online solution makes it easier for businesses to do business in this segment, and employees can easily organize and report on whether or not their employer pays for a hot meal. However, we hope that this will encourage more businesses to pay for meals. We process each application immediately upon receipt and strive to meet any specific needs that companies and/or employees may have.
It should be noted that dobartek.hr is already used by several companies at work, among them HR Cloud, HR Prodigy, Profico, and Rimac Automobili. New applications have already been received in the early days of launching the product, and the service is available in all cities in which dobartek.hr operates - from Split to Zagreb.”
Marko Marinovic, head of the Dobar Tek development team, concluded:
“We created dobartek.hr at work to make it easier to order food to the office every day. Simple group orders, cost records, and more. We have targeted this for companies and teams that often order together. We continue to work on this to never leave a team hungry at work.”

On August 22, 2019, online food delivery service Dobar Tek celebrates its 6th birthday.
Where will we get lunch delivered from today?
This is a question that was not so easy to answer in Croatia six years ago.
Namely, Dalmatinski Portal writes that the way we order food today, whether we are at home, at work or celebrating our birthday at the beach, began to change in 2013 when Nebojša Veron, then a graduate of computer science at FESB in Split, developed an online ordering service for restaurants.
Today, Nebojša's student project - dobartek.hr - is a platform that connects over 100 restaurants with tens of thousands of users in cities across Croatia: Split, Zadar, Dubrovnik, Kaštela, Solin, Trogir, Šibenik and Zagreb. Even today, he has a dedicated team that makes sure that the users of the platform find exactly what they want to eat and enjoy every bite.
In 2013, only a few restaurants whose menus and prices were listed could be found on www.dobartek.hr, and only a few enthusiasts had the opportunity to order food online. Mislav Tomić also worked with Nebojša on the software, and shortly afterward, they were joined by Ivan Jukić and Ivan Araš, and later by Marko Marinović. It didn't take long for them to understand that in addition to product development and design, they also needed to cover sales and customer relations, marketing, and business management segments.
“But that came later. The learning process is not easy, and new things are not mastered overnight if you want to work really well, consistently and as correctly as possible,” acknowledges Nebojša Veron.
Young, persistent, and motivated, they did not charge for their service at the outset, and later switched to a commission model from the orders completed. Because everyone had a permanent job at first, dobartek.hr would be done in their leisure time, when they would look for new clients, develop the product and explore new business models.
“The extremely dynamic and exciting food ordering market has managed to keep our interest, although, at the beginning, we only worked on our product in our spare time. We have continued to invest in the system and constantly adapt it to the needs of a growing number of users. And it is thanks to them, as well as the trust of our partner restaurants, that we are able to celebrate our sixth birthday this week,” said Ivan Araš excitedly.
Feedback from customers and restaurants is responsible for the continuous improvement of the service and its features, so over time, dobartek.hr has become a platform used daily by people across Croatia. Thus, there was a need for additional reinforcements, so dobartek.hr today has an established team of permanent employees and external associates.
“Although today the situation is much different than it was six years ago because we live in a time when we order and buy various services online, people say that they often feel safer when they receive a 'live' confirmation that their order has been received and that it will be delivered, especially when they’re hungry. Although dobartek.hr is a digital platform, we personally make sure that every order reaches the restaurant and that the food reaches the customer. We are constantly working on new functionalities, fixing what can be even better, and making sure the platform works 24/7. It is hard when something does not work out as we first imagined it, but we have learned that we should never give up, because often later we exceed our expectations,” said Mislav Tomić.
“Online ordering is preferable to ordering by phone because I can always review my order and I am less likely to blame the restaurant for missing something, which I did not add myself. But they can also rightly point to the restaurant for messing up if an error occurs on the other side. However, if it is written, then it is the law, and there is no such thing when ordering by telephone,” said Vedrana Biličić.
The dobartek.hr team sees great importance in supporting the community in which it operates, and proudly highlights the long-standing support of IT conferences such as Dump Days, the sponsorship of UniSport University Sports Association of Split and the futsal AFCU first team, and the #Donate FoodOnline campaign, which we can look forward to next.
“We do what is great to us, what we believe in and what we stand for, such as the #DonateFoodOnline (#DonirajHranuOnline) campaign or sponsoring student activities and teams from UniSport, which is really the only recipe for a great outcome. Sometimes we do not manage to cover everything that we would like, but that is why we always try to make every activity significant, no matter how small it may be,” Nebojša concludes.
Thus, on Thursday, August 22, 2019, dobartek.hr celebrates their sixth birthday and will honor their customers with a birthday discount, which canbe found on the website.
