Second Croatian Glovo Express Store Opens Doors in Zagreb

October the 18th, 2022 - The second Croatian Glovo Express store has opened its doors here in the City of Zagreb, more precisely on Zagrebacka cesta.

As Poslovni Dnevnik writes, Glovo, one of the world's leading applications for the delivery of multiple categories of products, including food from a very wide variety of restaurants, has opened a second Croatian Glovo Express store in the heart of the capital city.

This means that more than 2,500 different products from different categories are now available to customers from the western part of the City of Zagreb within the Glovo application, such as: fruit and vegetables, drinks, dairy products, snacks, sweets, personal hygiene products, home cleaning products, while the product range is listed exclusively in the Glovo application itself.

The first Croatian Glovo Express store was opened back in November 2021 on Zagreb's Radnicka cesta and, according to representatives of Glovo, it has been an exceptional success so far. The two stores in the City of Zagreb are strategically positioned to ensure optimal coverage of the Croatian capital, and users also have the option of personal pickup should they do wish.

"The launch of another Croatian Glovo Express store and the transition to a new, higher level of on-demand delivery is a key moment in time for us, but also a positive impact on the level of interest of our users. This is just a continuation of our focus on listening to our customers' needs and providing ultra-fast delivery for a wide range of products. Thanks to our well-organised in-store operations, our team will prepare a customer's order in less than three minutes and deliver it to their doorstep in less than thirty minutes. With this second store, Glovo Express' delivery area will cover more than 80 percent of the City of Zagreb, which is a guarantee ofthe  quality and timely delivery of products to our customers," said Drago Cota, general director of Glovo Hrvatska/Croatia.

The working hours of the new Croatian Glovo Express store are from Monday to Sunday from 09:00 to 00:00 and as stated by Glovo, the plan is to further expand the network and assortment in accordance with consumer needs as we go forward.

After Conquering Zagreb, Glovo Takes to Another Croatian City

If you've spent any time in the Croatian capital of Zagreb over the last year or so, you'll likely have noticed a growing abundance of people riding around on bicycles with yellow bags on their backs. The now very popular Glovo delivery service, which delivers everything from food to medical supplies and... well... anything and everything else, began operating in Zagreb not so long ago.

Glovo is otherwise a Spanish startup founded back in 2015 in Barcelona. Its mobile app allows users to make purchases, arrange pick ups and deliveries, with food delivery being naturally among the most popular reasons to use the service.

The delivery service soared in popularity when it came to Zagreb, offering employment as well as ease of access to typically very quick delivery services, and in an environmentally friendly way, by bike, on top of all that. McDonald's restaurants in three city locations recently decided to use the service to deliver their food to customers, and the move of Glovo being the one to finally bring the old desire for McDonald's to do home deliveries has of course proven successful.

Now that Glovo has its claws well and truly into the Croatian capital, it wants to expand to yet another Croatian city, the second largest - Split.

As Poslovni Dnevnik/Darko Bicak writes on the 13th of September, 2019, Teo Širola, General Manager for Glovo Croatia pointed out that in Zagreb they were convinced that Glovo's entry had been a complete and utter transformation of the fast delivery domain in the Republic of Croatia.

As such, Glovo is taking to Dalmatia and their main delivery services will be available in Split as of this coming Monday, as was found out from the headquarters of the company in Zagreb. As stated, in just six months, this service has become very popular in Zagreb, where thousands of citizens order food through Glovo, and allow the service to perform a variety of micro-deliveries, from food from the store, medication from the pharmacy, to forgotten keys or the delivery of other packages.

Teo Širola stated that after Glovo's experience in over a hundred cities in twenty countries and across three continents, the company is now secure and is ready for Split.
