Accused of Causing Maritime Accident, But Not Rich? 22 Months in Prison

The recent verdict of the Municipal Court in Šibenik in favour of Tomislav Horvatinčić, who stood accused of causing a maritime accident in 2011 that killed two people, led to a furious backlash in the Croatian public. Apart from setting a dangerous precedent to all future cases of similar nature where the defendants might now resort to a 'syncope' defence, the verdict caused a stir in relation to previous cases of such accidents.

Horvatinčić: Croatian Millionaire Kills 4 People in 3 Incidents, Serves No Time

On Friday 13th October 2017, Croatian businessman and millionaire – Tomo Horvatinčić was acquitted of all charges relating to the 2011 maritime accident where he killed two people. This is not the first such case, he has killed two people in two separate incidents in the past and has served no time for any of it. Which, begs the question – how many people can a millionaire kill and get away with in Croatia?

Horvatinčić Is Lying in Court, Says Son of Italian Couple Killed in Maritime Accident in 2011

Federico Salpietro, son of the Italian couple who passed away after the fatal maritime accident caused by Tomislav Horvatinčić in August 2011, reached out to TCN to share his official statement before the final verdict is passed tomorrow, October 13. According to Salpietro, Horvatinčić has been openly lying in court.
