A great performance by the band from Split on the main Bol square last night!
There are a few things that are for certain in Split: We love our music, we love our dancing, and we love to have a good time. It is no surprise to anyone then that the music scene in Split has flourished, and the bands coming out of this area right now are first class. Which brings me to my next point, a native Split band that has been around since early 2001 and has been making waves in the live music scene here ever since: Justin’s Johnson.
Having been around for nearly 15 years, Justin’s Johnson was initially founded by Miro Alač (guitar and vocals). Over the years the lineup has changed, with current members Miro (guitar), Frane Mihalj (trumpet), Marin Cecić (saxophone), Ivan Boban (trombone), Cyro Gastone (drums), and Bernard Andrijašević (bass). Playing the music of skabilly, punkabilly, swing, and a sense of humor on stage that can’t be topped, Justin’s Johnson knows how to paint the town red. With over 300 concerts played throughout Croatia, across borders, and at some of the largest music festivals such as EXIT in Novi Sad, Justin’s Johnson has left their mark in the ears and hearts of their fans.
They are currently signed to Croatia Records and are managed under Split music agency Street Pulse, run by Šime Barbarić. Justin’s Johnson are currently in the process of recording their next full length album, which will hopefully be released within the coming months.
Tonight, they are hosting an album fundraising event at Split Circus in hopes to raise enough for the completion of the album. As Split Circus is also closing its doors very soon, we are sure that tonight is the place you want to be, and that everyone will be going out with a bang!
Show begins at 9pm, tickets will be sold at the door. Split Circus is located at Dosud 6 i Jadranska 1. Be sure to bring out your dancing shoes, it’s going to be one hell of a show!
