ZAGREB, July 1, 2018 - Prime Minister Andrej Plenković has reiterated that the pension reform is being launched to make the system sustainable and pensions adequate so that people could live off them, saying the claim which has appeared in public, that second pillar retirees will lose the entitlement to a 27% supplement, is wrong as this entitlement does not exist.

ZAGREB, June 29, 2018 - Labour and Pension System Minister Marko Pavić reiterated on Thursday that the government did not plan to nationalise the second pension pillar but was rather proposing that investments in that pillar be increased and was willing to accept possible better proposals.

ZAGREB, April 24, 2018 - The Croatian Pensioners' Union (SUH) on Tuesday criticised the announced pension scheme reform, branding it as the continuation of the privatisation of the pension system to the detriment of pension recipients.

ZAGREB, April 19, 2018 - Labour and Pension System Minister Marko Pavić said on Thursday that a significant number of import labour quotas for third countries had not been used and underscored that this showed that the government's active employment policy measures had enabled employers to settle most of their labour needs by hiring local workers.

The new pension rules will apply to people born after 1966.

ZAGREB, March 14, 2018 - The Croatian government will launch a comprehensive pension reform in the second quarter of this year as part of which it will upgrade all three pension insurance pillars in cooperation with the social partners, academic community and interested public, the state secretary at the Ministry of Labour and Pension System Majda Burić said in Parliament on Wednesday.

ZAGREB, March 2, 2018 - The Croatian government on Thursday tabled draft amendments to the law on non-compulsory pension funds and to the law on pension insurance companies to incorporate recommendations of the Committee of Experts on the Evaluation of Anti-Money Laundering Measures and the Financing of Terrorism (MONEYVAL).

ZAGREB, January 22, 2018) - A 13 million kuna grant agreement on the establishment of an integral system for the management of Croatia's official documents, which would make those documents more available to the public, was signed at the Central State Office for the Development of Digital Society on Monday.

People are worried that the collapse in the prices of Agrokor’s shares could hurt pension funds.

The Croatian Chamber of Commerce seems to support the proposal.
