The Seismological Service of the Republic and Seismologist Tomislav Kuk told Media Servis that the magnitude of the earthquake was 4.1.

"This is a series of subsequent earthquakes, which have decreased slightly, but are still ongoing," seismologist Tomislav Kuk explained to Media Servis.

"This one was much stronger," wrote one visitor to the EMSC website in Petrinja.

"Of course very inconvenient," reads another comment from a visitor in Petrinja.

Index.hr reports that part of the building in the city center collapsed. It is a building that was damaged in an earthquake at the end of last year.

Police confirmed to Index that they received a report that a part of the previously damaged building collapsed due to the earthquake. Police officers went to the scene.

Ministry Says Assistance Provided for Domestic Animals in Quake-Hit Area

ZAGREB, Dec 31, 2020 - The Agriculture Ministry has been coordinating activities with the relevant services in the areas hit by Tuesday's 6.2 magnitude quake in Sisak-Moslavina County to secure help in providing shelter for domestic animals and buying and distributing animal feed.

The ministry noted that family houses and barns in the areas of Glina and Petrinja had suffered extensive damage and that the collection of information on the damage was continuing.

Thirteen carcasses were removed on Wednesday, the ministry said, noting that if necessary, transport and accommodation would be secured to cater to 1,400 heads of cattle on farms in the area of Krizevci.

The ministry noted that sufficient quantities of animal fodder would be secured and distributed in the quake-hit area.

Local farmers will be able to renew their herds and production capacity with the help of measures from the Rural Development Programme, the ministry said, noting that application for EU funding would be expedited.

It also said that pets in the quake-struck area were being provided for in cooperation with animal shelters, associations and temporary carers.

PM: Sisak-Moslavina County Most Likely to be Rebuilt Under Existing Law

ZAGREB, Dec 31, 2020 - Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic said on Thursday that the post-earthquake reconstruction of Sisak-Moslavina County would most probably be covered by the law on the reconstruction of buildings in the City of Zagreb, Zagreb County and Krapina-Zagorje County that were damaged by the March 22 earthquake.

Speaking to the press after a meeting of the national council for the adoption of the euro, Plenkovic said that the law on the reconstruction of Zagreb and the two adjacent counties was a good basis for the reconstruction of Sisak-Moslavina County, which was struck by a string of devastating earthquakes on Monday and Tuesday.

He said that the 60-20-20 concept of reconstruction, with 60% of funds provided by the government, 20% by local communities and 20% by owners, was excellent.

Construction Minister Darko Horvat has been given until Monday to see which solution would be better - to extend the scope of application of the existing law or to draw up a new one.

Plenkovic said that the existing law could be amended within a day or two of Parliament reconvening.

Plenkovic announced that his HDZ party would donate HRK 1 million to the earthquake-devastated Sisak-Moslavina County, adding that the decision would be formally made at a meeting of the party's presidency and national council later today.

The prime ministers thanked everyone, both private individuals and legal entities, for donating funds for earthquake victims. "There is great solidarity art work," he noted.
