City of Split, Owen Wilson, and Salma Hayek Star in New 'Bliss' Trailer

January 13, 2021 - The City of Split, Owen Wilson, and Salma Hayek are the stars of the new 'Bliss' trailer, released by Amazon Prime on Tuesday.

Amazon Prime will release the new film 'Bliss' on February 5, 2021. The sci-fi drama by director and screenwriter Mike Cahill transported Salma Hayek and Owen Wilson to Split back in July 2019. Wilson was often photographed with locals, which you can read more about HERE.

On Tuesday, the trailer for the film was finally released, and in addition to the two Hollywood stars, Split also takes the spotlight.

The main characters of the film are the unfulfilled Greg played by Owen Wilson and the mysterious Isabel embodied by the great Salma Hayek. In short, the two believe they live in a parallel, fictional reality, but that their perfect world soon begins to fade and turns into something utterly ugly. They both have to decide where they actually belong and what’s real in all of this, reports Telegram.hr.

The premiere of the film has been announced for February 5, 2021.

Hollywood Star Owen Wilson Enjoys Split

After filming the action scenes for The Hitman's Wife's Bodyguard in Rovinj and Zagreb with colleagues Samuel L. Jackson and Ryan Reynolds, Hollywood actress Salma Hayek returns to Croatia, and namely Split, to meet yet another Hollywood favorite - Owen Wilson.

Hayek and her new film crew will base in the southern Dalmatian city to film science-fiction film Bliss, directed by Mike Cahill. This is a project by Amazon Studios and Endgame Entertainment, whose filming has already started in Los Angeles. Owen Wilson, along with Selma, makes up the star-studded cast, reports Dalmacija Danas on July 19, 2019.

It is rumored that the celebrity actors will appear in scenes that will be filmed in the heart of Split. In Bliss, Salma will interpret the role of homeless woman, who will fundamentally change the life of a recently divorced Major Greg Gregory (Owen Wilson), whose life was ruined after his marriage fell apart.

Isabel (Hayek) is convinced that the world we live in is not real and that it is just a simulation within an ideal world in which good fortune and prosperity rule. Greg is at first somewhat suspicious, but Isabel eventually gains hist rust with charisma, and he becomes increasingly convinced that the truths are sound in her theories.

Dalmacija Danas exclusively wrote that actor Owen Wilson arrived at Split Airport on Friday at 4 pm on a Lufthansa plane.

Owen will stay in Split in the coming days to film a few scenes with Hayek in the very heart of Split - the Riva and Prokurative.

The Hollywood actor was spotted in several locations on Friday. While one fan snapped a photo with Wilson at a market in the center, Wilson also visited the famous Split restaurant Zrno Soli during the evening, where he enjoyed numerous delicacies of chef Stjepan Vukadin and was eager to photograph with staff and restaurant guests, reports Dalmatinski Portal.

“He ate fish and had no problem taking photographs with everyone; he reused nobody. The children enjoyed it and in the end, he praised the food and staff of the restaurant,” said Katarina Ševo from the Split restaurant.

Salma Hayek and Hollywood Co-stars Reveling in Rovinj (PHOTOS)

April 13, 2019 - As you may already know, “The Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard,” which is the sequel to the 2017 action comedy “The Hitman's Bodyguard,” began filming in Rovinj at the beginning of the month. The film, which is directed by Patrick Hughes, features Hollywood stars Ryan Reynolds, Salma Hayek, and Samuel L. Jackson to name a few. Set to debut in 2020, it is one of the largest film projects Croatia has seen, reported Jutarni List at the beginning of April.

“The filming in Croatia, which is planned for 49 days, will last until the end of May. In addition to Rovinj, locations in Zagreb, Rijeka and the surrounding area of Karlovac will be used for the film,” said the producer of the film, Igor A. Nola, from MP Film Productions.

Our locations, Nola adds, play Italy, the Mediterranean, as well as Croatia. More than 220 Croatian film professionals are part of the production, and more than 760 extras will be engaged.

As the Croatian Audiovisual Center (HAVC) points out, the project was reported as an incentives program to encourage investment in the production of audiovisual works, which was carried out by HAVC in cooperation with the Ministry of Culture.

The famous cast hasn’t been shy about sharing the beauty of Croatia on their Instagram pages. Notably, Hayek has managed to share a photo every day from the Rovinj film set to her 9.7 million followers.

Hayek called Rovinj a “magical location”, and was even seen grocery shopping on Friday. Namely, one of the scenes was filmed at a market located at the entrance to Rovinj’s old town center.

Some of the local products even caught the actor’s attention. You can see the photos on T.portal

Hayek also shared a new friend she made in Croatia, which you can see below.

Samuel L. Jackson also couldn’t help but share the beauty of Rovinj with his 5 million Instagram followers.

“This new location looks promising! Croatia is lovely at first glance,” Jackson wrote.

The crew is excepted to visit Croatia’s capital on May 1.

"The Hitman's Wife's Bodyguard" should hit cinemas in the first half of 2020.
