December 30, 2021 - The latest flight news to Croatia as LOT Warsaw-Zagreb flights will run daily in January, and NYE charter flights have departed from Zagreb to Italy and Portugal. 

LOT Polish Airlines will operate daily on a regular route between Warsaw and Zagreb in January 2022, reports Croatian Aviation.

Unlike last winter when LOT drastically cut and temporarily suspended traffic to Zagreb, this airline has been operating regularly towards Zagreb Airport - the only destination in Croatia in the winter months, since the beginning of this year's winter flight schedule.

On the Warsaw-Zagreb line, daily flights have been announced for January, in the morning and afternoon, depending on the day of the week. The Embraer fleet, type E195, E190, E175, and E170, will operate on the route. These aircraft have a capacity from 76 to as many as 118 seats.

LOT will offer a total of 5,072 seats on 31 return flights between the capitals of Poland and Croatia in January, and one-way tickets can be purchased in January for 960 kuna.

In addition to passengers traveling directly between the two cities (business, tourists, and VFR passengers), this airline is also used by a relatively large number of transfer passengers who continue their journey through Warsaw to other destinations in Europe and the world. Furthermore, before the pandemic, several tourists from Asia, mainly from Japan and South Korea, came to Croatia with this airline.

Croatian Aviation also reports that Croatian private airline Trade Air operated two charter flights from Zagreb on Wednesday. These are organized New Year's trips to Italy and Portugal (Catania and Porto).

At 9 am, B737-800 aircraft departed from Zagreb for Porto. The return from Porto is scheduled for January 2, 2022. 

An F100 aircraft, registration number 9A-BTE, departed from Zagreb at 10 am to Catania, Italy. The return flight is also expected on Sunday, January 2, 2022.

The flight to Porto is organized by Idea putovanja from Zagreb, while the flight to Catania is organized by Palma Travel, also from Zagreb. Croatian Aviation reports that the flights are well filled, despite the current passenger restrictions.

On December 30, at 9 am, a Croatian Airlines aircraft type A320 should take off from Marrakesh.

March 22, 2021 - The latest flight news to Croatia as LOT Warsaw-Zagreb flights will be renewed from March 28, 2021! 

Croatian Aviation reports that Polish airline LOT stopped traffic on the Warsaw-Zagreb route in January this year but has announced it is re-introducing a direct line between the two cities after just over 2 months.

Namely, due to weak demand and passenger restrictions, LOT briefly suspended traffic on the line between Warsaw and Zagreb, the only year-round line to Croatia.

The airline introduced a regular line between the two cities back in 1994, and traffic on it was interrupted three times, as the airline went through a restructuring process following the introduction of a complete lockdown in Europe. This winter, the line was interrupted due to weak demand.

The airline will resume traffic on this route from Sunday, March 28 (with the first day of the summer flight schedule). Four flights a week have been announced, every Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday.

The Embraer E170 and 175 aircraft were announced on the route in April, with the E170 having a capacity of 70 passengers, while the E175 can accommodate 82 passengers.

Lines from Warsaw to Split and Dubrovnik are currently announced from the end of April, and lines to Zadar from the beginning of June. Last year's new line between Warsaw and Rijeka is currently not on sale for this summer season.

LOT aircraft landed on Krk from the beginning of July to the middle of September 2020.

Although introducing this line in the 2020 summer flight schedule was a bold move by the airline, it is not clear why LOT decided not to continue operating to Rijeka in the summer of 2021. Namely, whatever result the airline achieved on this route last summer cannot be relevant given that at the time of the global pandemic, the occupancy of aircraft on almost all routes was extremely low.

The loss is not great considering that LOT to Rijeka operated briefly and only once a week. Still, even such a minimum frequency enabled direct air connections between Kvarner and the Polish capital.

December 23, 2020 - The latest news for flights to Croatia as Polish airline LOT temporarily suspends Warsaw-Zagreb from mid-January.

Croatian Aviation reports that from mid-January 2021, the Polish airline LOT will temporarily suspend traffic on the Warsaw-Zagreb line.

Namely, from January 13, the Polish national carrier will stop traffic on the Warsaw - Zagreb - Warsaw route.

LOT Polish Airlines launched its regular route between Warsaw and Zagreb this summer after completing the lockdown, and the line continued to operate in the winter flight schedule after October this year.

However, due to the development of the epidemiological situation, reduced demand, and the introduction of restrictive measures, the airline will suspend traffic between the capitals of Poland and Croatia for just over a month and a half.

The Warsaw - Zagreb - Warsaw line will operate until January 13, 2021, and by that date, the airline will perform 8 return flights and offer a total of 1120 seats in both directions. From January 13 to March 1, 2021, the airline will not operate on this line, and in that period, there will be no direct flights between the two mentioned cities.

On the eight return flights in January, LOT will operate E170 aircraft with a capacity of 70 passengers.

The temporary suspension of the Polish national airline is not a surprise; the company is not satisfied with the occupancy of the aircraft on this route, which is expected at the moment.

Zagreb Airport will temporarily be without another foreign airline from mid-January. Recall, many other foreign airlines have temporarily suspended flights to Zagreb in the winter flight schedule this year.

From March 1, 2021, LOT plans to resume traffic on the line to Zagreb with four flights a week, the realization of which will depend, above all, on the epidemiological situation that directly affects passenger demand.
