September the 20th, 2022 - The Zadar company Turisthotel is set to make some considerable investments, expand, and further develop the quality of what they already offer.

As Poslovni Dnevnik/Marija Crnjak writes, the Zadar company Turisthotel recently celebrated 40 years of the operation of the popular Zaton Holiday Resort, all while announcing new investments in the hotel business set to come.

Around 6,000 guests are currently staying at the aforementioned resort, and the largest percentage of them come from Germany, Poland, the Netherlands and Austria, all of whom are responsible for this year's record tourism results after a horrendous two years dominated by a global public health crisis.

The next five years

"Turisthotel is now entering a new investment cycle, which is more oriented towards investing in the additional improvement of the quality of the existing infrastructure, as well as the expansion, upgrading and modernisation of our existing facilities. These investments, which will be realised in different phases over the next five years, have been made possible thanks to the stable and continuous growth of the business.

I believe that this is a key imperative for the company's further development, as well as in terms of additional positioning on the market, both for the resort itself, as well as for Nin, the City of Zadar and the entire wider Zadar region as an attractive and desirable tourist destination," said the president of Turisthotel's Management Board, Meri Matesic Sicic.

In the coming period, the reconstruction of 159 apartments ranging from 3 to 4 stars will begin in the Zaton Holiday Resort, the construction and the introduction of new hospitality and entertainment facilities, as well as the complete renovation of the main street of the resort is planned.

As Matesic Sicic revealed, the plan is to build a city hotel located within the centre of Zadar itself, in the building which once housed the former Pobjeda (Victory) cinema, and to convert Boutique Hostel Forum into a hotel.

In addition to all of the above, the plans also include the construction and arrangement of a multi-purpose office space that would include catering and hospitality facilities as part of the Visnjik Sports Centre.

April the 12th, 2022 - The renovated Hotel Diadora Zadar will boast some spectacular new facilities aimed at promoting the interest of children in marine biology. A new ''underwater world'' will undoubtedly make this Zadar hotel stand out from the rest.

As Poslovni Dnevnik/Marija Crnjak writes, the Family Hotel Diadora in the Falkensteiner Resort Punta Skala has received a fifth star, and this summer the first guests have more than 1250 m2 of space waiting for them. This huge area will be primarily for children's entertainment, new children's playrooms, dormitories for children, multimedia and cinema halls, renovated rooms and spacious suites, the new Acquapura SPA wellness world, numerous sports fields and a swimming pool with slides, the company announced.

“The project of reconstruction of the existing four-star Hotel Diadora Zadar required a very specific approach, with an emphasis placed on design and content adapted to children. All 230 rooms and suites, as well as all the surrounding spaces and playrooms, are specially adapted for families, from sizes to decorations. The playrooms, rooms and other spaces are filled with interactive entertainment for children, and the goal was to create the most fun family place on the entire Adriatic,'' stated Otmar Michaeler, the CEO of the Falkensteiner Michaeler Tourism Group.

''The main theme of the renovated Diadora Hotel Zadar is the truly unique and innovative underwater world, this interesting concept of marine biology will allow children to explore the underwater world with the Falky mascot, through games and entertainment, and at the same time educate children and adults about the importance of preserving the underwater environment and maintaining our seas and oceans,'' the company said when explaining the philosophy of this ''edutainment'' concept. In 2023, a large Aquapark will also be built as part of the wider resort.

The company as yet isn't disclosing the amount of investment in this reconstruction.

February the 18th, 2021 - The old Zadar Maraska building which is well known all over Dalmatia and the rest of the country for its representation of 500 years of tradition is soon to become a high category hotel, with construction beginning this autumn.

As Morski writes, Zadar Mayor Branko Dukic recently met with the President and Chief Executive Officer of the Turkish Dogus Group Ferit F. Sahenko and his associates. The topic of conversation was the announcement of a new cycle of Dogus Group investments in the Dalmatian city of Zadar.

The Dogus Group is well known across Croatia for its numerous previous investments, and the conversion of the old Zadar Maraska building is sure to be a topic of conversation over the coming months.

''We're close to a partnership with a strong Croatian partner. We're planning to start the first phase of the hotel's construction in the autumn of this year. We're also finalising the blueprints for the living space around the hotel. We were pleased to be able to inform Mayor Branko Dukic about the further phases of the Maraska project,'' said the regional director of Dogus Croatia, Burak Baykan.

In addition to exchanging information on current projects for the development of Zadar's tourist offer and new business opportunities, the Mayor of Zadar expressed satisfaction with the announcement of the imminent start of construction of what will become highest category hotel in Zadar when completed.

''The City of Zadar, as an extremely tourist-oriented coastal city, urgently needs hotel accommodation of the highest category. I'm looking forward to the start of work on the future hotel in the old Zadar Maraska building beginning, which will confirm the correctness of the previous efforts of our city administration to attract new investments in the field of tourism, of which, I'm convinced, will be more and more.

We must continue to invest in our infrastructure, beaches, sport and recreational facilities, the restoration of cultural attractions and everything that will lead us raise the overall quality we can boast of and expand our range of destination products. All these efforts will contribute to the reduction of seasonality and create more new jobs. Zadar lacks accommodation in high category hotels and all investors whose projects can raise the value of Zadar's tourist product are ver welcome. The coronavirus pandemic will pass, people will start travelling again and it's up to us to welcome it and be read,'' Dukic concluded.
