Zagreb Company DOK-ING Presents Anti-terrorist Robotic Vehicle MV-3 Hystrix

April 27, 2023 - The Zagreb company DOK-ING presented an innovative, multipurpose anti-terrorist robotic vehicle MV-3 Hystrix, currently the only one of its kind in the world, developed over the course of three years, in a project worth HRK 18 million.

As Index reports, the founder and owner of DOK-ING, the innovator Vjekoslav Majetić, pointed out that the vehicle is unique and has already received users' support. "During development, we changed the characteristics of the machine and adapted it to the needs of future users," said Majetić.

He emphasized great interest in Hystrix on the world market and that the price of the robotic vehicle has not yet been established. To develop the entire project to the current level, he said, HRK 18 million was spent, of which EU funds were nine million.

The vehicle is intended for the police and the army. Its primary purpose is to operate in closed spaces, and it has strong ballistic protection on the front. It can work in daytime conditions and conditions of reduced visibility. It is equipped with a series of cameras - infrared and thermal, so it can operate even at night. When using the machine, the special forces have maximum security.

What kind of vehicle is it?

The use of Hystrix reduces intervention time because the perpetrators can be located and reached in a short period, and, among other things, it is also used to extract the wounded. The advantage of Hystrix is that it has complete special equipment intended for solving crises. It has built-in gas sensors, allowing it to detect propane and butane, so it can work even in conditions of attack by toxic agents.

Since it is an electric vehicle, it is important to note that its autonomy is around eight hours, but it can also be powered by electricity in the field.

Defense Minister Mario Banožić also pointed out that the Hystrix project is proof of how much the DOK-ING company participates in the research and development of machines for the needs of the military industry, but also how much it contributes to the safety of citizens, all those who live in the EU and outside it. According to him, the company DOK-ING is one of the flagships of the domestic defense industry, which, apart from the production itself, also participates in developing defense products.

"Their truly innovative solutions contribute to all the tasks we have, and they also contribute to other components of homeland security," said Banožić. He is certain vehicles like the Hystrix will find their place on the market, and the Ministry of Defense will support them.

Dorsi: Zagreb Company Designs Protection for Protective Masks

As Poslovni Dnevnik/Darko Bicak writes on the 5th of November, 2020, there is almost no company in Croatia, and certainly in the world, which hasn't been affected by the coronavirus crisis, and mostly negatively. Dorsi, a Zagreb company, has gone as far as to make sure that your protection - is protected.

From the first days of the pandemic and all of its many social and economic consequences, entrepreneurs have had to quickly adapt to the new circumstances or fail, either by strengthening their online presence and delivery methods, or by updating their range with what are now sought-after items. This primarily refers to relatively simple and cheap products such as protective equipment, mainly masks, and disinfectants, which became the most sought after products on a global scale back in mid-March. Over time, the situation, primarily with the opening of logistics supply chains, has normalised to an extent, but some companies have found niches in the market that will allow them to keep selling well long after the coronavirus crisis passes.

One of them is certainly the Zagreb-based company Dorsi, which trades in promotional items and business gifts as well as outdoor branding and printing, and which, now very seriously, has positioned itself here on the Croatian market as a manufacturer of protective cases - more specifically protective cases for protective masks.

As Sinisa Dorotic, the director of Dorsi, explained, we usually wear protective masks when entering shops, closed indoor spaces, public transport and the like, and the need to wear them is usually reduced to a shorter period. Therefore, most people don't throw away their disposable mask after one use and there is a need for a mask case so that we can store it in a hygienic way, and not carry it in our pockets, bags or wallets.

"We first made about a hundred cases for our own needs and distributed some to our acquaintances, partners and friends. We received positive feedback and decided to commercialise the product and put it on the market,'' stated Dorotic, adding that they are satisfied with the current market interest, but they're sure that it will increase, primarily due to the need for such a product, as well as its practicality.

''We're currently printing 12 motifs, 12 new motifs are being prepared, and cases can be personalised as a promotional gift for business partners. The cases are currently only available in pharmacies through the wholesale drugstore we work with. We're currently in negotiations with some retail chains and other retail stores,'' Dorotic pointed out. Asked if they're afraid that with the discovery of the vaccine against the new coronavirus and the slowing down of the spread of the disease, this business niche will be called into question, they point out from Dorsi that such cases have their use value for as long as people have to use protective hygiene masks.

Given the fact that Dorsi already has ample experience with occasional corporate gifts, there is no doubt that for the upcoming Christmas period, despite the coronavirus pandemic and all of the unfavourable limitations brought by the pandemic and the economic crisis itself, this will be among the more popular Christmas gifts that companies will, of course in branded form, distribute to their employees and business partners.

According to Poslovna Hrvatska/Business Croatia, Dorsi has a dozen employees, and last year they generated impressive revenues of HRK 13.3 million.

The result is recorded through three patents combined in a technology application we called the MLA DLP. Croatian Software Development Company Impresses Western Europe and USA

More Croatian innovation continues to impress not only those in nearby Western Europe but those across the Atlantic in the United States.

As Marta Duic/Poslovni Dnevnik writes on the 22nd of June, 2019, the Croatian company Agency04 agency is a Zagreb-based software development company that generates more than sixty percent of its revenue on the markets of Western Europe and the USA.

This successful Croatian company was founded five years ago, and today their team consists of seveny experts from Mobile, Web and Java development, user experience-UX, automatic quality control and so-called Agile counselling.

"All of [the company's] founders are people from the world of development, and we believe that this is one of the reasons why the quality of the solutions we deliver is primarily recognised. Our greatest achievements are our colleagues, all of seventy of them. Last year, that year was once again marked by the growth in the number of people in our team and an increase in the number of our clients. We ended [2018] with a 137 percent larger team than we had in 2017, and this year we expect to go down a similar path,'' stated Domagoj Madunić, the director of Agency04

This Croatian company is going from strength to strength, and it is currently focused on the markets of Switzerland, the USA, Austria, and Germany where they work for companies such as Strabag and ELCA, XebiaLabs, and in Croatia, they work for large companies including Iskon and A1. New markets that interest them are other European ones, and they include the British and Scandinavian markets, as well as those of Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg.

"We gave our vision the name five star service, namely, we want to offer customers something that they'll be impressed with process of, as well as with the communication and the quality of the products they're buying from us. Something that sets us apart from all of their previous experiences. Our industry is changing quickly, and that level of service is like a moving target. The growth of our size and portfolio is likely, but only if we stay true to the highest level of service,'' explained Madunić.

Growth is clearly visible when looking at this company's impressive figures, revenues have risen from 6.95 million kuna back in 2017 to a massive 13.5 million kuna last year, with more than double the growth of employees, from 29 in 2017 to 71 who are currently working for this Croatian agency.

"We recently started working on our new website, and we decided on a somewhat brave concept and asked all of our customers for a video statement or a written statement. When we made a contact list, we counted that seventy percent would be willing to give a written statement, and maybe fifty percent would be willing to stand in front of a camera and record a video statement.

Not everyone likes such exposure, and it's not easy to get in front of the camera. We have taken into account that our customers are big companies and that we will have challenges and a long process of approving such statements. We were shocked when we got literally all positive responses, and 100 percent of the people asked about cooperation with us in some way or another. Such a relationship with customers can't be purchased with good sales and marketing, but only with good deliveries,'' said the company's director.

''This year, for the second summer in a row, we'll host a free summer school that will provide students with a theoretical and practical insight into Java application development using the Spring Boot library suite during five weeks. The course will take place online during the week, with personal meetings with lecturers taking place at weekends, and at the end of the school, participants will be able to show off what they learned during their time at our summer school in a two-day hackathon.

We've been looking for young and ambitious people because there's a large gap between academic and practical knowledge in Java programming, and among other things, we want to give young people the opportunity to learn something that will be practical to use.

Along those same lines, it's a great opportunity for us to reach some high-quality employees, last year, thirty attendees participated in this summer school, and from them, we've given permanent employment to four people,'' noted Domagoj Madunić.
