Yoko Nishii Piano Concert in Sinj Tomorrow

Tomorrow at 20.00, after the Holy Mass, at the Church of Our Lady of Sinj, a concert will be held by the renowned Japanese pianist Yoko Nishii.

 

On the occasion of the 130th anniversary of the birth of Dora Pejačević, this Japanese artist recorded her entire piano works on a double CD album. Amont many cities and towns in Croatia, Sinj will have the honor of hosting Yoko Nishii tomorrow (September 22, 2015).

According to Ferata.hr, prof. fra Blaž Toplak is explaining why the date of the concert was chosen very specific to be on September 22.

With this concert, we will start a one-year program for the Great Jubilee, which will be celebrated exactly on September 22, 2016. After the great victory over the Ottomans, the commander of the city Zorzi Baldi suggested to the soldiers to make a voluntary donation to thank Our Lady in a way. Collected were 80 coins and in Venice a crown was made for Our Lady´s image, which was blessed by the Split Bishop on September 22, 1716, explains Toplak.
