February the 1st, 2022 - The Croatian company Agrivi is set to take to the demanding and much sought after American market, according to founder Matija Zulj.
As Poslovni Dnevnik/Lucija Spiljak writes, founder and CEO of the Croatian company Agrivi Matija Zulj said that he's happy to announce the opening of Agrivi's office in the United States, where the highly experienced industry leader Bob Westbrook will work on their team as the sales manager. The Croatian company Agrivi, an agrotech company, has otherwise had its eye on the market of the USA for a considerable amount of time.
So far, they have already collaborated with the American company Driscoll’s, the largest berry producer in the world, and this will be Agrivi's fifth office after the ones they have in Zagreb, London, Bucharest and Warsaw.
Zulj pointed out that their US office wants to provide even greater value to its existing customers on the US market and thus remain a favorite digital partner in agriculture to large US and global agricultural and food companies in the transformation of agricultural production.
In addition to all of the above, they want to strengthen their market position as a global leader in software solutions for the digitalisation of agriculture. Namely, their software is among the top ten solutions in the agrotech industry in the world and among the top three in Europe.
It is estimated that the social impact of the Croatian company Agrivi directly and indirectly reaches more than 100 million people, and users from all over the world use Agrivi's solutions to optimise their agricultural production or the production of subcontractors.
There is a growing interest from investors on top of all of that as well. Around one month ago, the Feelsgood fund announced that it was investing 5.6 million kuna in Agrivi. This closed the funding cycle that began back in 2020.
The Croatian company Agrivi already has two open positions across the pond in the United States - for Executive Director of International Sales and Customer Success Manager.

September the 29th, 2021 - The Croatian Agrivi company has had its agriculture innovation recognised, praised, and chosen as the very best by no less than the United Nations (UN).
As Poslovni Dnevnik/Lucija Spiljak writes, with software such as that created by the Croatian Agrivi company, farmers can work to successfully reduce risks and increase their overall yields while simultaneously increasing their product quality and creating additional savings.
Back in July this year, the Croatian Agrivi agritech (agricultural technology) company was among the 27 impressive finalists of the Digital Excellence in Agriculture in Europe and Central Asia competition organised by the Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations (UN) from which it returned home as the winner in the Agricultural Innovation Systems and Sustainable Agriculture - Related Systems farm management category.
"I'm proud that Agrivi has once again been recognised as an innovative technological solution that contributes to the long-term sustainability of agricultural production, not only in Croatia, but on global scale. This award is yet another confirmation of the efficiency and quality of Agrivi's software, which brings numerous benefits to farmers and consumers in the long run.
With software such as that created by Agrivi, farmers reduce risks and increase their yields while increasing their product quality and creating savings. On the other hand, the implementation of this software in production ensures the constant control of the production process, which enables traceability, so that consumers have a completely transparent insight into the production process of the food they're consuming. This is no longer our future, but the present,'' said the founder and director of the Croatian Agrivi company, Matija Zulj, adding that he hopes that in the coming period, an increasing number of producers will begin to digitise their production.

As Poslovni Dnevnik writes on the 18th of November, 2020, AGRIVI, a Croatian agro-technological company that has developed a globally leading platform for agricultural production management, has been provided with additional financing, namely, HRK 30.2 million in Series A financing, whose holders are the South Central Ventures Investment Fund (SCV) and the European Investment Fund, and the Croatian Bank for Reconstruction and Development (HBOR).
In addition to the aforementioned, Fil Rouge Capital and AgriTech Hub also participated in this round of financing. The funds will help Croatia's AGRIVI expand its market reach to key more European markets and even to the United States.
The AGRIVI solution is one of the most complete platforms for managing agricultural production globally and helps farms and agri-food companies to achieve economically and environmentally sustainable agricultural production, which is of enormous importance in current times.
This new round of financing continues into an extremely successful period for AGRIVI, during which it recorded rapid growth in the number of clients, strengthened key managerial positions and gained greater market recognition and momentum, and all that at a time when the food and agricultural sectors are in increasing public focus. Key analytical reports position AGRIVI among key global leaders in farm management. Their user portfolio has grown significantly and today it includes very large brands such as Nestle, Driscoll’s, Kimberly-Clark and BNP Paribas. In addition, the consulting firm EY has recommended AGRIVI solutions as a quick-return project for all countries looking to increase the sustainability of their local production and reduce their impact on climate change.
"AGRIVI has made impressive progress since our first investment back in 2016. They've positioned themselves on the map of the world's leading agro-technological companies as one of the leading platforms for agricultural production management. I'm delighted that the European Investment Fund also recognised the opportunity and participated in our first direct joint venture. I'm convinced that the funds of this round of financing will enable AGRIVI to further accelerate its activities in several business areas and thus increase its contribution to the production of healthy food,'' stated Jure Mikuz, a partner in the South Central Ventures fund.
''The strong progress we've made and the outstanding clients we support have prepared us for the next phase of our growth. We're grateful to South Central Ventures, the European Investment Fund, the Croatian Bank for Reconstruction and Development, Fil Rouge Capital and AgriTech Hub for supporting our mission to digitise global agriculture. Recent events around the world have attracted additional attention to the food and agricultural sectors, so investor interest in AGRIVI is enormous, which is why we're considering expanding our circle and realising additional funding,'' added Matija Zulj, CEO and founder of AGRIVI.

As Poslovni Dnevnik/Lucija Spiljak writes on the 13th of October, 2020, Matija Zulj, the director of the Croatian agro-technological company Agrivi, which has developed one of the most successful applications for agricultural production management, recently presented his innovation in business and stressed the importance of the digitisation of Croatian agriculture, its production and the increase of food safety.
Agrivi, whose software in the agtech industry is today among the top 10 solutions in the world and the top three in all of Europe, cooperates with more than 500 clients across Croatia, and Zulj revealed that they also successfully cooperate with the Ministry of Agriculture, which educates on digitalisation.
"On their part, there's great interest in the benefits that digitalisation can bring to Croatian agriculture and as such to the entire economy. The benefits are abundant because investing in digitisation pays off quickly; by implementing the solution alone, earnings grow by 50 and 100 percent, thus ensuring the necessary investments.
It gives consumers a detailed insight into production, allows room for greater and better choice and increases food safety. The digitisation of agriculture can be a solution to significantly increase the competitiveness of domestic agriculture and the Ministry of Agriculture has an understanding of this,'' said Agrivi's Marija Zulj, who believes that Croatia should use part of the available 22 billion euros of European Union funds for the digitalisation of agriculture, which has proven to be important across the world.
Agrivi's boss also announced that his company has implemented a solution for the traceability of food production with a company in Dubai - a QR code allows a user to obtain all of the necessary information about a product. As Zulj explained, this solution is already showing great market potential and represents a revolution in the food industry.
"The consumer gets the opportunity to get key data on the origin, cultivation and nutritional composition of the product by scanning the code, and the manufacturer gets to achieve premium quality and thus higher prices," explained Zulj, adding that they're ready to implement this solution anywhere in the world, and it would be possible to do that here in Croatia as well.
Agrivi's software is otherwise the most complete solution that, in addition to being easy to use, is also localised in fifteen languages, and is used by farmers of all sizes, food companies, agro-banks and other stakeholders in the agricultural and food industry. Users can get all the information about each stage of production, production plan and timely implementation of agro-technical measures in a mere few clicks.
They work with global leaders such as Driscoll’s, the world's largest berry producer, then Nestle, which uses Agrivi software to ensure fruit quality for its baby food factories, and Helvetas, which ensures rice traceability for more than 4,000 small farmers in Asia.
The consulting company Ernst & Young recommended Agrivi's solution as an ideal project that could have a positive impact on agriculture and the entire economy in Croatia in just two years.
Agrivi is celebrating seven years of business this year, coming from humble beginnings as a startup and growing into a technology company, globally established and present in more than 100 countries, with offices in Zagreb, Warsaw, Bucharest and London, with the aim of expanding into the European and American markets where they have a strong customer base and where additional sales offices are expected to open.
They currently have 40 employees and in the last two months they have hired eight new ones in spite of the ongoing pandemic, and at this moment in time, three more positions have been opened. Recently, Agrivi and Agroklub signed an agreement and became strategic partners, thus further positioning themselves as key leaders in digitalisation in agriculture in the Adriatic region.
