In 2016 in Croatia, a project that this year increased their number of users from one to 15,000, while receiving an investment of one million dollars for further expansion, has been voted the best startup in Croatia for the Central European Startup Awards.
The Central European Startup Awards are a series of events in CEE countries to recognize and celebrate the entrepreneurial spirit and startup ecosystems of the colorful and diverse region.
The National Awards for Croatia went to: Agrivi for startup of the year in Croatia, Microblink as the best FINTECH startup, Sentinel as best IoT startup, MashPoint as best social impact startup, and VOLLO as best startup in the early stage of development. The jury for the Central European Startup Award (CESA) will announce the overall winner for the entire region on December 1.
In addition, the award for the most influential woman in the startup world in Croatia was given to co-founder of Bellabeata - Urška Sršen, and Vitastiq was awarded the startup with the best user experience, which in a very simple way, measures the level of vitamins and minerals in the body.
Zagreb entrepreneurship incubator (ZIP) was named the best incubation and acceleration program in Croatia while ImpactHUB Zagreb won the best coworking space in Croatia.
The best Croatian startup, according to CESA, was Agrivi from Kutina, which offers a cloud solution by which farmers can easily improve their production. This year, Agrivi received an investment of one million dollars from VC fund South Central Ventures. Agrivi was founded by Matija Zulj, who also leads as a CEO. Zulj’s plan by the end of the year is to hire 30 people.
