In the land of seafood, mixed meats, charcuteries & crusty breads, and all of the vegetables you can imagine, we usually leave our meals overly content, stuffed to the max, and wanting to refuse the sight of anymore food possibly coming our way...unless it’s dessert. If you’re in Split, you’re in trouble - here are some of the top dessert destinations you won’t want to miss.

It seems that just a few years ago it was nearly impossible to get a good breakfast in Split. Sure we had omelettes and basic eggs, but a real, hearty breakfast was hard to come by. Today, it is hard to believe the amount of breakfast options we have in the city, many serving their takes on classic egg dishes and fan favorites like French toast and pancakes. Because we don’t want anyone to go hungry before lunch time, here are some great breakfast options for you to frequent during your early mornings in Split.

Because we would never want to be phased with a task as hard as rating the best burgers, nor would we want to take on that challenge considering the current burger revolution in Croatia -  so instead we give to you the best institutions to burger up in Split.

Brasserie on 7, one of our favorite Riva restaurants, is always a necessary go-to while you’re in Split. The laid back ambience, chic atmosphere, and undeniable quality have propelled this restaurant to be a leading force in the Split restaurant scene. Another thing that separates B7 from the rest? Our Split Riva can be enjoyed as one of the most picturesque settings in the city; palm trees line the Adriatic, cafes permeate the smells of coffee through the air, and perhaps, most importantly, Brasserie on 7 has the front row seat.

The summer may be over and most of the best gourmet evenings of the year behind us, but there are still some gems to be had before Split launches itself into another Advent in Split early next month. 

Of all the wineries I have visited in Dalmatia, one of the stand-out performers, both in terms of style and quality, has been Stina from Brac. Located in a majestic huge stone house on the Bol waterfront, home to the oldest wine association in Dalmatia, dating back to 1903, passers-by would be forgiven for thinking there was nothing going on inside, but nothing could be further from the truth. 

Traditional old Dalmatian stone building on the outside, very snazzy and modern upcoming winery on the inside, and the stylish interior and presentation of the Stina brand takes most visitors by surprise. And that is before they come across the award-winning labels, one of the cleverist I have seen. Check out the video below - art at work. 

And what does all this have to do with Split, I hear you cry? There is no doubt that one of the most popular places in Split for tourists is the waterfront in front of Diocletian's Palace. Called Riva, it is a stunning and stylish location, with wall to wall cafes vying for your businesses. With such spectacular views in a historic setting, it is the perfect place to people watch over a coffee.

But what if you are hungry?

Riva is Cafe Central, and dining options are limited. I don't think I would be doing a huge disservice to Hotel Adriana by saying their restaurant food is a little way off Michelin Star status, and so it was great news to hear about the opening of a new restaurant on Riva - the first dedicated restaurant - earlier this year.

Brasserie on 7 has made an impressive start and is a welcome addition to the city's gastronomic scene. From breafast to brunch, fine dining to coffee and one of their excellent range of cakes, B7 as it is known to their growing number of regulars, offers perhaps the most diverse dining options in Split. In a prime, prime location. I am still salivating over the cold sea food platter at the recent photoshoot.
