July 19, 2022 - The latest flight news to Croatia as British Airways Zagreb flights see further reductions in September and October this year. 

After reducing its August schedule, British Airways has revised its flight schedule for September and October, announcing that further changes are possible, reports Croatian Aviation. 

It was recently announced that the British Airways route between London (Heathrow) and Zagreb had been reduced for August, but the airline has now reduced the number of planned flights for September and October as well. 

On July 17, the airline changed its flight schedule for July and August on several European routes. Namely, until September 11, the rule of Heathrow Airport is in force, which limits the number of passengers at this airport daily due to the lack of workforce. 

Many flights on the line between London (Heathrow) and Dubrovnik have been announced for September. However, instead of 20, the carrier will operate 22 return flights on this route, which is why flights between Heathrow and Zagreb have been reduced. Namely, that line was initially planned with 39 return flights in September, but now it has been reduced to 36, which is an almost negligible number.

However, in October, British Airways is significantly cutting operations on the route to Zagreb again. Until July 17, the carrier had planned 52 monthly flights to the Croatian capital, but the flight schedule was reduced again. Namely, 52 flights were initially planned for October, but 12 were canceled, so now 40 flights are available for booking in October.

It is likely that by September, the airline will further reduce the number of monthly flights for October, not only to Croatia but at the European level, so additional cancellations are undoubtedly possible. However, unlike Zagreb, given that we are in the peak summer season, the flight schedule to the airports on the coast (Pula, Split, and Dubrovnik) has no significant cancellations, except for Split, where several last-minute cancellations were recorded.

August 6, 2021 - As announced in previous months, and now added to the flexibility of travel measures and restrictions between England and Croatia, British Airways flights to Croatia will have around 11,000 seats available for passengers arriving in August from English territory.

Jutarnji List reports that, with the abolition of corona measures in Great Britain, the expansion of flights of local airlines to Croatia began. As of yesterday, British Airways flights to Croatia between London City and Split have started.

Flights on this route will operate three times a week with an E190 aircraft. But that is just the beginning. According to the announcements, British Airways will soon connect Split and London Heathrow nine times a week.

Starting tomorrow, the two-week flight of this company between London (Heathrow) and Pula will start. The company is reintroducing a two-week flight. This week, 12 weekly flights between Heathrow and Dubrovnik should start. Towards Dubrovnik, it will use A321 aircraft and will offer up to 5,232 seats between the two cities on a weekly basis.

The number of flights on the route from London to Zagreb will not increase and BA will still have five weekly flights to the Croatian capital. Given this increase in the number of flights, BA will have 31 flights this month to four Croatian airports with more than 11,000 seats available.

It will operate to Croatia on 6 routes with a total of 9 weekly flights. Apart from the British, this month the number of international flights to Croatian airports will be further strengthened by the German low-cost company Eurowings.

Thus, in addition to Rijeka, Split, Pula, Zagreb, Dubrovnik, Split, and Zadar, this month it will open a new line between Düsseldorf and Zagreb. Given the new route, the company will have 57 weekly flights on 25 routes to six of our airports this month.

July 20, 2020 - The latest news from around Croatia’s airports for flights to Croatia with updates from Zagreb, Split, Dubrovnik and Pula.

Croatian Aviation reports that British Airways, a member of the OneWorld alliance, will significantly increase the number of weekly flights to destinations in Croatia from August.

From August 1, the company will increase the number of weekly flights to Zagreb, Split and Dubrovnik, and will restart flights on the route London - Pula. All British Airways flights are operated from London Heathrow Airport, so flights to Dubrovnik (which operated from Gatwick) were transferred to Heathrow.

The London Heathrow-Zagreb route currently operates three times a week, but from August 1, British Airways will fly between the two cities daily.

The London Heathrow - Dubrovnik line started operating on July 16, also three times a week, but from the beginning of August, this line will also operate every day of the week.

The London Heathrow - Split route began operating four times a week from July 9, and from August 2, there will be as many as nine weekly flights on this route (every day of the week, Monday and Sunday, two flights a day).

British Airways will re-establish scheduled flights on the London Heathrow - Pula route. Due to the epidemic, this line has not yet operated in this year's summer flight schedule, but from August 1, two flights a week will be introduced, every Tuesday and Saturday.

June 17, 2020 - The latest news from around Croatia’s airports for flights to Croatia with updates from Zagreb, Split, and Dubrovnik. 

Croatian Aviation reports that well-known low-cost airline, Norwegian Air, which has so far operated to almost all airports in Croatia, announced it is resuming three routes to Split and Dubrovnik.

The company previously canceled its only line to Rijeka, and currently, there are no announcements of traffic to Pula, Zadar, and Zagreb. The company thus today confirmed the establishment of three lines to Dubrovnik and Split.

From July 4, Norwegian will fly again on the Oslo - Split route, twice a week, on Wednesdays and Saturdays,

From the same date, the company plans to establish the Stockholm - Split line, only once a week in July, on Saturdays.

From July 28, the Oslo - Dubrovnik line will be introduced, twice a week, on Tuesdays and Sundays.

At the end of July and the beginning of August, the introduction of more international routes to these two Croatian airports is expected, as well as the return of the company to Pula.

Furthermore, Croatian Aviation reports that British Airways will re-launch international routes in July, including three destinations in Croatia.

Although they planned flights to Croatia at one point even for June, this did not happen, mainly due to restrictions imposed by the UK government.

At the moment, 14-day self-isolation after arrival in the UK is still mandatory, but companies based in the UK are putting pressure on the authorities to lift this restriction, which would greatly facilitate the re-establishment of air traffic.

According to current information, British Airways intends to launch three routes to Croatia from July, to Zagreb, Split and Dubrovnik.

London (Heathrow) - Zagreb, from July 9, three times a week, on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays,

London (Heathrow) - Split, from July 9, four times a week, on Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays,

London (Gatwick) - Dubrovnik, from 16 July, three times a week, on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays.

London (Heathrow) - Pula line is not yet announced for this year's summer flight schedule.

July 16, 2019 - The latest news from around Croatia’s airports for new flights to Croatia with updates from Zagreb and Dubrovnik airports. 

Avio Radar reports that British Airways, a Oneworld member, will increase traffic on both lines to Croatia for their winter flight schedule. 

The route between Zagreb and London Heathrow Airport will have two additional flights, on Fridays and Sundays. A total of nine flights per week will be offered this winter.

The route between Dubrovnik and London Gatwick Airport will feature four flights per week in the period immediately after the end of the summer flight schedule. Thus, for the Christmas and New Year holidays, there will be three flights offered per week, or one more than last year. Likewise, in February and March next year, three flights will be on offer per week instead of last year’s two trips. British Airways will fly to Dubrovnik on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, and in November this year on Sundays. 

Furthermore, Avio Radar reports that Korean national carrier Korean Air, a member of SkyTeam, will further boost traffic on the Zagreb-Seoul Incheon line. In addition to the existing three flights per week, on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, the fourth-weekly flight will be introduced on Fridays. This reinforcement will operate from August 30 to September 20, 2019. 

Although the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft will fly on the existing flights in September, an Airbus A330-200 will work on the additional flight on Fridays. 

TCN recently reported that Croatia welcomed 81 new scheduled and charter routes from 24 different markets in the peak summer months, which are mostly operating from Germany, the United Kingdom, France, Italy, and the Netherlands. 

Thus, three of Europe’s biggest low-cost airlines - EasyJet, Norwegian Air Shuttle, and Ryanair, are said to be driving Croatia’s five busiest airports this summer.

Of the other airlines flying into Croatia, Ryanair and Norwegian both received a lower than four star rating.

The first flight from London Heathrow to Istria landed at Pula Airport around 8:30 PM on July 1.

Over the summer, Istria will have even more direct connections with London.
