ZAGREB, 19 June 2021 - In the past 24 hours, 84 coronavirus cases and one death have been registered in Croatia, the national COVID-19 crisis management team said on Saturday.

There are 666 active cases, including 291 hospitalized patients, 24 of whom are on ventilators.

To date, Croatia has registered 359,115 coronavirus cases, including 8,169 deaths and 350,280 recoveries, with 117 in the past 24 hours.

To date, 2,106,145 people have been tested for the virus, including 4,316 in the past 24 hours.

As for vaccination, 2,318,428 doses have been administered, including 1,442,925 persons who received one dose and 875,503 both.

ZAGREB, 17 June 2021 - In the last 24 hours, of 5,192 tests performed for coronavirus in Croatia, 95 (1.8%) have returned positive, the country's COVID-19 crisis management team reported on Thursday.

The COVID-related death toll has increased by three to 8,165.

There are currently 745 active cases, and 342 of them are hospitalized patients, including 25 placed on ventilators. As many as 4,344 are self-isolating.

Since the first registered case of the infection with this novel virus in Croatia on 25 February 2020, 2,097,393 people have been tested, and 358,918 of them have contracted the virus. To date 350,008 have recovered, including 148 recoveries in the last 24 hours.

June 12, 2021 - In case you missed it, the vaccine rules in Croatia changed on Friday as well, and waiting 14 days after your second dose is no longer needed to cross the Croatian border for EU citizens.

The Croatian Civil Protection Headquarters decided on Friday on the temporary prohibition and restriction of border crossings and thus changed the border crossing measures for citizens of European Union countries, i.e., countries and/or regions of the Schengen area and countries associated with the Schengen area, reports HRTurizam.

The new decision will allow entry to the Republic of Croatia for people coming from the Schengen area, who are vaccinated with two doses of vaccine, as soon as they are vaccinated with the second dose, and will not have to wait 14 days.

With the new decision, cafes can now work up to midnight, but still only outdoors, not indoors.

"This is primarily about the working hours of catering facilities, but also other activities that have so far been limited to 11 pm. From tonight, midnight on June 12, they will be able to work up to midnight. This includes catering facilities, bakeries, casinos, slot machine clubs. This also applies to public events, gatherings, and manifestations," said Davor Bozinovic.

It was pointed out at the press conference that the Council's recommendation would be that Covid recovery is recognized plus one vaccine dose for Covid confirmation to be obtained. For European confirmation, it is a PCR test and one dose, and in Croatia, it can be an antigen test plus one dose.

More than 2 million doses of vaccine have been used.

On Thursday, June 10, 2021, 55,960 doses of vaccine were used, of which 16,250 were the first doses. Thus, the total number of vaccine doses used reached 2.04 million, while 1.39 million people were vaccinated with at least one dose.

The highest coverage of vaccinated with the first dose was achieved in the City of Zagreb (40.2% of the total population, or 48.8% of the adult population), and the completed vaccination was achieved in the highest coverage in Sisak-Moslavina County (22.3% of the total, ie 26, 8% of the adult population).

ZAGREB, 11 June 2021 - In the last 24 hours, of 4,083 tests performed for coronavirus, 3.3%, that is 134, have returned as positive, and there have been 13 more COVID-related deaths increasing the death toll to 8,123, the Croatian COVID-19 crisis management team reported on Friday.

Currently, there are 1,207 active cases in Croatia, including 456 hospitalised patients of whom 44 are placed on ventilators.

Since the first registered case of this infectious disease in the country on 25 February 2020, 2.07 million tests have been performed, showing that 358,379 people have contracted this novel virus, and of them 349,049 have so far recovered, including 204 recoveries in the last 24 hours.

ZAGREB, 10 June 2021 - In the past 24 hours, Croatia has registered 184 new COVID cases while seven people have died, the national COVID-19 response team said on Thursday.

There are currently 1,290 active cases in the country, including 482 hospitalized patients, 48 of whom are on ventilators.

A total of 358,245 cases of coronavirus have been registered since the outbreak of the disease in February 2020 and 8,110 people have died. A total of 348,845 people have recovered, with 217 of them recovering in the past 24 hours.

ZAGREB, 27 May 2021 - Croatia has registered 375 new cases of coronavirus infection and ten more infected people have died in the past 24 hours, the national COVID response team said on Thursday.

There are currently 2,968 active cases in the country and 968 hospitalized patients with 95 of them on ventilators.

To date, a total of 1,994,545 people have been tested for the contagion, with 6,319 tests conducted in the past 24 hours and the share of the positive tests being 6%.

As of Thursday, 1,645,332 doses of vaccines have been administered. To date, 1,221,109 people have received at least one dose of a vaccine while 424,223 have received both shots.

ZAGREB, 21 May 2021 - The head of the Croatian COVID-19 crisis management team, Interior Minister Davor Božinović, said on Friday that the authorities would next week start considering possible relaxation of anti-epidemic rules as of 1 June.

The current rules are in force until 31 May and we will see which course to take considering the relaxation, the minister said.

Božinović added that Croatia wanted the application of the EU Digital COVID certificate to start as soon as possible.

Being a tourist destination, Croatia would like to see the implementation of the COVID travel pass as soon as possible.

Apart from serving as a travel pass, the digital COVID certificate can be used for some other purposes, and this depends on decisions to be made by individual member-states, Božinović said.

He went on to say that the technological system was equal at the EU level, and it would be known who was authorised to develop the QR codes for certificates, he explained.

During a news conference in Zagreb today, the head of the Croatian Institute of Public Health (HZJZ) Krunoslav Capak, informed that all the participants in two pilot projects -- a business lunch and a wedding party  -- tested negative to coronavirus seven days after the participation in those events.

Overall in Croatia, the number of new positive cases fell by 38% over the week, he added.

Croatia's current incidence rate  per 100, 000 inhabitants is 262.5.

As for the vaccination of foreigners, Capak said that Croatia enabled foreign citizens to get vaccinated.

For instance we have vaccinated 500 diplomats and their families' members, they have no Croatian documents, and information about their inoculation has been entered into the relevant data base, Capak said.

ZAGREB, 20 May 2021 - Over the past 24 hours, Croatia has registered 695 new cases of coronavirus infection and 36 related deaths, the national COVID-19 crisis management team said on Thursday.

The number of active cases stands at 5,084. There are 1,416 COVID patients in hospitals, 148 of whom are on ventilators, and 17,490 people are in self-isolation.
