Croatia's Coronavirus Update: 4,520 New Cases, 69 Fatalities

ZAGREB, Dec 9, 2020 - In the last 24 hours, out of 12,596 tests performed for coronavirus, 4,520 (36%) have returned positive in Croatia, and 69 people have died of the complications linked to the COVID-19 disease, the national COVID-19 crisis management team reported on Wednesday.

There are now 23,750 active cases, and of the 2,703 are receiving hospital treatment, including 280 patients placed on ventilators, or 23 more than on Tuesday, according to a tally kept by the crisis management team.

Croatia's COVID-related death toll stands at 2,367.

Since February 25, when the first case was confirmed in the country, 159,372 people have been infected with the novel virus. A total of  837,619 people have been tested to date. More than 131,000 have recovered.

Currently, 57835 people are in self-isolation.

Krapina-Zagorje County Head Says Epidemiological Situation Very Serious

ZAGREB, November 21, 2020 - Krapina-Zagorje County head Zeljko Kolar said on Saturday that the epidemiological situation in the county was very serious, with 104 new coronavirus cases and four fatalities in the last 24 hours.

The county head told a news conference that the county health system was functioning only owing to extreme efforts by medical workers.

"Forty-nine people have died since October 23. If that is not reason enough for people to get serious and start complying with epidemiological measures, I don't know what is. We do not want the scenario that is happening in Varazdin County to happen here," Kolar said in reference to Varazdin County being among the European regions with the highest seven-day incidence of coronavirus, with 944 cases per 100,000 inhabitants.

There are currently 1,043 active cases in Krapina-Zagorje County and 1,453 people are self-isolating, the local COVID-19 response team said.

Croatia's Coronavirus Update: 2,179 New Cases, 16 Fatalities

ZAGREB, November 1, 2020 - In the last 24 hours, of 8,026 coronavirus tests conducted in Croatia, 27% , that is 2,179, have returned positive, the country's COVID-19 crisis management team stated on Sunday.

In the last 24 hours, there have been 16 COVID-related fatalities, bringing the death toll to 562.

Currently, there are 15,894 active cases, including 1,097 patients who are being treated in hospitals. Of them, 81 are placed on ventilators.

Since February 25, when the first case of the coronavirus infection was confirmed in the country, 51,495  people have tested positive for the novel virus and  35,039  of them have recovered, including 2,221 in the last 24 hours.

Currently, 29,338  people are self-isolating.

To date, 502,048 coronavirus tests have been conducted in Croatia.

Coronavirus Update: 2,769 New Cases, 15 Deaths

ZAGREB, October 31, 2020  - In the last 24 hours, 2,769 new coronavirus cases and 15 related fatalities have been confirmed, the country's COVID-19 crisis management team said on Saturday.

There are now 15,952 active cases, including 1,049 patients who are receiving hospital treatment, of whom 82 are on ventilators.

With the 15 latest fatalities, the death toll has climbed to 546.

Since February 25, when the first case of the coronavirus infection was confirmed in the country, 49,316 people have tested positive for the novel virus and 32,818 of them have recovered, including 1,908 in the last 24 hours.

Currently, 27,940 people are self-isolating.

Since the onset of the epidemic, Croatia has conducted 494,022 tests.

Croatia Reports Record 1,563 New Coronavirus Cases, 13 Deaths in Last 24 Hours

ZAGREB, October 22, 2020 - A total of 1,563 new coronavirus cases and 13 related deaths have been confirmed in Croatia in the last 24 hours, the national coronavirus response team reported on Thursday morning. 

This is the largest single-day number of new infections and deaths since the start of the epidemic in the country.

The current number of active cases is 7,380. Among those infected, 661 are receiving hospital treatment for COVID-19 and 46 of them are on ventilators.

Since February 25, when the first cases was confirmed in Croatia, 29,850 people have contracted the novel virus, 406 of them have died and 22,064 have recovered, including 629 in the last 24 hours.

Currently, 25,620 people are in self-isolation. To date, 418,821 coronavirus tests have been performed, including 6,874 in the last 24 hours.

Record High of 1,424 New Coronavirus Infections Reported in Croatia

ZAGREB, Oct 21, 2020 - Over the past 24 hours, Croatia has registered a record high of 1,424 new coronavirus infections and there have been 11 deaths, the national COVID-19 response team said on Wednesday.

Currently, 622 COVID patients are being treated in hospitals, and 38 of them are on ventilators. The number of active cases stands at 6,459, and there are 24,242 people in self-isolation.

Since February 25, when Croatia registered its first case of the infection, 28,287 people have contracted coronavirus, 393 of them have died, and 21,435 have recovered, including 473 in the last 24 hours.

To date, 411,947 people have been tested for the virus, including 8,255 over the past 24 hours.

This is the third time in a week that the number of single-day cases has exceeded one thousand.

Croatia's Coronavirus Update: 508 New Cases and Seven Deaths

ZAGREB, October 11, 2020 - Over the past 24 hours, Croatia has registered 508 new cases of the SARS-CoV-2 virus infection, as well as seven fatalities, and the number of active cases on Sunday stands at 2,818.

According to the national COVID-19 response team, 384 COVID patients are being treated in hospitals, and 26 of them are on ventilators.

Since 25 February 2020, when Croatia registered its first case of the infection, 20,440 people have contracted the disease, and 324 of them have died, while 17,298 people have recovered, including 345 in the last 24 hours.

Currently, 14,363 people are self-isolating.

To date, 358,515 people have been tested for coronavirus, including 4,989 over the past 24 hours, the press release said.

363 New Coronavirus Cases and 5 Dead Reported in Croatia

ZAGREB, Oct 7, 2020 - Over the past 24 hours 363 new coronavirus cases have been registered in Croatia, bringing the number of active cases to 1,830, and five persons have died, the national COVID response team said on Wednesday.

Currently, 344 patients are hospitalized, including 26 on ventilators, while 9,675 persons are self-isolating.

Since February 25, when the first infection was registered in Croatia, 18,447 persons have been infected with the virus, of whom 309 have died, while 16,308 have recovered, including 116 in the last 24 hours.

To date, 338,594 persons have been tested, including 5,353 in the last 24 hours.

Croatia's Coronavirus Update: 138 New and 1,466 Active Cases

ZAGREB, October 5, 2020 - Over the past 24 hours, there have been 138 new cases of the coronavirus infection and two fatalities in Croatia , and the number of active cases stands at 1,466, the national COVID-19 management team said on Monday.

There are 326 COVID-19 patients in hospitals, including 24 who are on ventilators.

Since February 25, when the first case was registered in Croatia, 17,797 people have contracted the coronavirus infection, of whom 300 have died, while 16,031 have recovered, including 182 who have recovered in the last 24 hours.

Currently, 8,923 people are self-isolating.

To date, 328,392 people have been tested for coronavirus, of whom 2,233 over the past 24 hours.

234 New Cases and Four More Deaths Reported in Croatia

ZAGREB, Oct 1, 2020 - Over the past 24 hours, of 5,322 tests performed for coronavirus in Croatia, 234 new cases and four more deaths are reported in Croatia. Currently, there are 1,325 active cases, the national COVID-19 crisis management team said on Thursday.

Hospitals are treating 297 COVID patients, including 26 on ventilators.

Over the past 24 hours,161 persons have recovered.

Also, 7,903 persons are self-isolating.

Since February 25, when the new virus was first registered in Croatia, 16,827 persons have been infected, including 284 who have died, and 15,218 have recovered.

To date, 312,406 persons have been tested for coronavirus.
