ZAGREB, February 23, 2018 - Prime Minister Andrej Plenković said in Brussels on Thursday that decision on the procurement of combat jets would be made in the next few weeks. The process is nearing its end, we have examined all the bids that have arrived and in the next few weeks the decision will be announced, Plenković told a press conference after meeting with NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg.
ZAGREB, February 17, 2018 - Croatian Defence Minister Damir Krstičević has invited NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg to visit Croatia and thus be acquainted with the preparedness of the Croatian Armed Forces.
The soldier died on Tuesday at the barracks in Lithuania.
The soldier was in Lithuania as part of the NATO mission.
The soldiers were participating in a NATO mission in Poland.
The first part of the unit which will take part in the NATO enhanced Forward Presence mission is on its way.
While the President is travelling to Moscow to allegedly improve relations with Russia, Croatian soldiers are going to Poland to defend it from possible Russian aggression.
The 78 soldiers will be part of the NATO force there.
The government approved four new foreign missions for the Croatian military.
For Croatia to reach the 2% GDP target, it would have to increase defence spending by additional 3 billion kunas a year.
