February 8, 2021 - The latest news for flights to Croatia as Ryanair offers 18 lines from Zadar this summer.

Croatian Aviation reports that in cooperation with Lauda (Laudamotion), Ryanair plans to base one A320 at Zadar Airport in the upcoming summer flight schedule!

Namely, according to the original plan from 2019, this was supposed to happen in the summer season of 2020. However, after the outbreak of the global pandemic, the airlines temporarily abandoned that plan.

In the last few days, an increasing number of international destinations to and from Zadar Airport has been added to Ryanair's official website. Lauda will operate a larger number of flights.

Ryanair and Lauda will offer as many as 18 destinations from Zadar Airport in the upcoming summer flight schedule:

Berlin (from July 2, 2 times a week),

Brussels (from May 1, up to 4 times a week),

Cologne (currently unavailable for booking),

Dublin (from May 2, up to 2 times a week),

Gothenburg (from July 3, up to 2 times a week),

Karlsruhe (from July 3, up to 2 times a week),

Krakow (from May 2, up to 2 times a week),

London (from June 1, up to 4 times a week),

Manchester (from June 1, up to 2 times a week),

Marseille (from May 2, up to 2 times a week),

Memmingen (from July 3, up to 2 times a week),

Naples (from June 4, up to 2 times a week),

Paris (from July 3, up to 2 times a week),

Poznan (from May 2, up to 2 times a week),

Prague (from May 1, up to 2 times a week),

Vienna (from July 2, up to 3 times a week),

Weeze (from March 30, up to 3 times a week),

Wroclaw (from July 2, up to 2 times a week).

These are significantly more international destinations to Zadar Airport than in the summer flight schedule in 2020. Although as many as six lines will operate only in the peak season, from the beginning of July, Ryanair and its subsidiaries will once again confirm their primacy at Zadar Airport, where they will, if epidemiological measures allow, confirm their role as carrier number 1 this summer.

February. 5, 2021 - The latest news for flights to Croatia as KLM and Air Serbia reduce Zagreb services.

Croatian Aviation reports that KLM has temporarily suspended sales on a new, second daily flight between Zagreb and Amsterdam.

The world's oldest airline has thus suspended sales on its second daily flight between Zagreb and Amsterdam due to low demand thanks to the introduction of restrictive measures for travel between countries. 

We remind you that on December 4, 2020, KLM announced the news that it would introduce a second daily flight to Zagreb, operating between the two cities from February 14, 2021, 14 times a week, with an overnight stay in Zagreb.

The new, second daily flight has been temporarily withdrawn from sale and is not available for booking, but as Croatian Aviation learns, the airline has not completely given up on this plan. KLM is expected to offer 14 weekly flights when there are no restrictive measures in place that greatly limit the possibility of travel, which is automatically maintained on the booking status.

Recall that on all flights to or via Amsterdam, it is currently necessary to have a negative PCR test and a "rapid" test, which must not be older than 4 hours before the start of the trip. For this reason, rapid testing is also possible at Zagreb Airport, given that Zagreb is currently the only Croatian airport that has a direct connection to the Dutch capital (daily flights of Croatia Airlines and KLM). Passengers pay 250 kuna for a quick test at Zagreb Airport.

Croatian Aviation also reports that the Serbian national airline Air Serbia has reduced the number of weekly flights between Belgrade and Zagreb this month.

Although the airline generally had 3 to 4 and even more weekly flights in the previous months, as of February 8, only two flights a week are available on this route. 

Until the end of this month, Air Serbia will operate on the Belgrade-Zagreb-Belgrade route twice a week, on Mondays and Fridays (Monday mornings, Friday evenings) with ATR75 aircraft.

From February 8 to 28, Air Serbia will operate only six return flights, with approximately 850 seats available to passengers in both directions.

It is expected that Air Serbia will renew a larger number of routes to Croatia in the summer flight schedule, with destinations that operated even in the summer of 2020 (Dubrovnik and Split), it is possible to return routes from Belgrade to Pula and Zadar.

February 3, 2021 - The latest news for flights to Croatia as Turkish Airlines reduces Istanbul-Zagreb in February. 

Croatian Aviation reports that the Turkish national airline has again reduced the number of weekly rotations between Istanbul and Zagreb.

Due to reduced demand and restrictive measures, Turkish Airlines is again offering only four weekly flights between Zagreb and Istanbul. As a reminder, in the first half of January, the airline operated between the two mentioned cities up to 7 times a week. Still, the number of operations then started to decrease.

This month, Turkish Airlines will again operate between Zagreb and Istanbul four times a week.

Flights between Istanbul and Zagreb operate on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. Flights on Mondays and Fridays fly in the evening, while flights on Wednesdays and Sundays are scheduled in the morning.

Turkish Airlines continues to use the same types of aircraft on the route to Zagreb. On Mondays and Fridays, A321 aircraft with higher capacity have been announced, while on Wednesdays and Sundays, B737-800 will operate.

The company is actively considering the resumption of traffic to Dubrovnik Airport in the upcoming summer flight schedule. Still, the realization of these flights will primarily depend on the development of the epidemiological situation and passenger restrictions that will be in force in the coming months.

Turkish currently offers very favorable prices for return air tickets on the Istanbul-Zagreb route in several terms, which you can find on the airline's website.

Recall, as of December 30, 2020, all passengers entering Turkey are required to have a negative PCR test. The test result must not be older than 72 hours from the planned start of the trip. This measure applies to all passengers over 6 years of age, except seafarers and passengers in transit in Istanbul,

February 1, 2021 - The latest news for flights to Croatia as Air Baltic operates to Rijeka, Split, Dubrovnik this summer. 

Croatian Aviation reports that Air Baltic, Latvia's national carrier, plans to operate to three Croatian airports this summer.

Namely, in the upcoming summer flight schedule, the Latvian national airline plans to connect the Baltic with three leisure destinations in Croatia. In total, it will offer slightly more weekly operations to Croatia than was the case in the previous crisis year.

Two lines to Dubrovnik
Direct flights between Riga and Dubrovnik are available from May 1. The airline will operate on this line twice a week, on Thursdays and Saturdays, until the end of the season, on October 30. In total, over 15,000 seats will be available between Riga and Dubrovnik in both directions. 

Dubrovnik will also be connected with Vilnius. The Vilnius - Dubrovnik line will be open from June 4 to October 29, once a week. All Air Baltic routes will be operated by A220-300 aircraft with a capacity of 145 seats. The airline will offer just over 6,300 seats on this line.

Line to Split three times a week
Air Baltic will re-establish the Riga-Split route. The start of traffic on this line is announced for May 3, twice a week, on Mondays and Fridays. From June 30, the third flight of the week is introduced, every Wednesday. In total, in the upcoming season, Air Baltic will have as many as 60 return flights between Split and Riga, with as many as 17,400 seats on sale in both directions. 

Riga - Rijeka from July
Much later than in previous years, this carrier will establish traffic to Rijeka Airport. The Riga - Rijeka line will operate from July 1 to October 4, twice a week, on Mondays and Thursdays. During this period, Air Baltic will offer just over 8,000 seats between Kvarner and the capital of Latvia.

Air Baltic will operate A220-300 aircraft with a capacity of 145 seats on all routes to Croatia.

January 30, 2021 - The latest news for flights to Croatia as Luxair returns to Dubrovnik, Split, Zadar this summer.  

Croatian Aviation reports that Luxair has announced the return to three Croatian airports in the 2021 summer flight schedule.

Luxembourg Airlines, also known as Luxair, plans to operate three international routes to Croatia from Luxembourg this summer.

The airline plans to resume international traffic to Croatia at the beginning of the 2021 summer flight schedule, but the number of weekly operations remains minimal at all Croatian airports.

Lines to Dubrovnik, Split and Zadar
In the summer of 2021, Luxair will connect Luxembourg with Dubrovnik, Split, and Zadar, and all lines will operate only once a week.

The Luxembourg - Dubrovnik - Luxembourg line will be in operation from April 28 to October 2, once a week, on Saturdays. Between these two cities in the summer of 2021, Luxair will operate 24 return flights and offer a total of almost 3,650 seats.

The Luxembourg - Split - Luxembourg line will also operate once a week, on Sundays, from May 2 to October 10. Luxair will offer the same number of seats on the line to Split as to Dubrovnik.

The Luxembourg - Zadar - Luxembourg line will operate on Saturdays, from May 8 to October 2. Twenty-two return flights have been announced, with Luxair offering just over 3,300 seats between the two cities.

Luxair announced a few days ago that it is introducing the Luxembourg-Belgrade line. When asked about the possibility of introducing a line to Zagreb, the airline said that it actively monitors the market in Croatia and does not rule out the possibility of introducing a direct line to the Croatian capital in the near future.

On all routes to Croatia, Luxair will use DashQ400 aircraft with a capacity of 76 seats.

January 29, 2021 - The latest news for flights to Croatia as Croatia Airlines reduces international traffic in February.

Ex Yu Aviation reports that due to entry restrictions and requirements in European Union member states, Croatian national airline Croatia Airlines will reduce its international network of destinations next month. 

Namely, in February, Croatia Airlines will connect Zagreb with Amsterdam, Frankfurt, London, Rome (via Split), Brussels, Copenhagen, Zurich, Paris, and Skopje, reducing its network to nine international destinations. Croatia Airlines will not run to Sarajevo and Vienna next month, even though the airline operated to those destinations in January.

Non-stop flights will be maintained from Split to Frankfurt, Rome, and Munich, and it will maintain its extensive domestic network next month. 

Ex Yu Aviation adds that the Croatian airline concentrates on flights where passengers can continue to connect through its partners. 

“Croatia Airlines is a regional carrier with the prime purpose of connecting Croats with Europe and the rest of the world through major European hubs with connections to the networks of our Star Alliance partners. We will continue to connect major European hubs as this is our strategy, and it will remain unchanged. However, we will also provide connections for Croatian people to fly within the country, and we will continue to provide direct links to Croatian holiday destinations from around Europe. We believe that the hub and spoke system will survive. Croatia Airlines is a strong regional operator with a clear goal. It is also well connected with many other airline partners through its interline and codeshare agreements and part of the best alliance in the world - Star Alliance," Croatia Airlines' CEO, Jasmin Bajić, had said. 

Commenting on the airline’s expectations in the post-pandemic era, Bajić added:

"Being a small airline may be an advantage to surviving the global turmoil - we can be more flexible during this time and more daring in seizing any new opportunity on the market. There is a downside as well - there are fewer means for investment compared to the bigger carriers. We are considering a few scenarios for the post-pandemic Croatia Airlines and each of them has the goal of positioning the company onto new markets and strengthening its position in existing markets."

January 28, 2021 - The latest news for flights to Croatia as Windrose operates to four Croatian destinations this summer. 

Croatian Aviation reports that Windrose Airlines, a Ukrainian airline that has made a major expansion in the region in the past few months, has announced a summer flight schedule for Croatia.

Windrose will operate at four Croatian airports this summer, connecting Kyiv directly with Pula, Split, Dubrovnik, and Zagreb.

Kyiv to Pula
The Kyiv - Pula - Kyiv line will operate from June 5 to September 25 this year. Three flights a week will be available on this route every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday from mid-June. On Tuesdays and Saturdays, A321 aircraft will operate between Kyiv and Pula, while on Thursdays, the two mentioned cities will be connected by smaller capacity aircraft - E145.

Kyiv - Split
On the same date, the line to Split will start operating, and as the line to Pula, it will operate three times a week, on the same days (Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays). A321 aircraft have been announced on Thursdays and Saturdays, while E145s will operate on Mondays.

Dubrovnik only once a week
In the summer of 2020, Windrose launched the Kyiv-Dubrovnik line, which will continue to operate this summer. The first flight is announced on June 18, once a week, every Friday. E145 aircraft will operate on the route.

There is no increase in Zagreb
The Kyiv - Zagreb line was introduced in the winter flight schedule 2020/2021. The company currently operates on this route twice a week, and although it had announced an increase in the number of weekly flights, it never came to fruition. The company has temporarily given up on that plan and will continue to operate between Zagreb and Kyiv twice a week, on Wednesdays and Sundays, this summer as well. On the route to Zagreb, Windrose will use E145 and ATR75 aircraft.

January 26, 2021 - The latest news for flights to Croatia as Wizz Air adds another Split route in its summer flight schedule. 

Croatian Aviation reports that only five days after it announced a new line from Gdansk to Split, Wizz Air has added another to Dalmatia's busiest airport. 

Wizz Air, a Hungarian low-cost airline, launched another new route to Split Airport, specifically in this year's summer flight schedule.

Namely, from June 6, the Oslo - Split - Oslo line will be introduced, which will operate twice a week, on Thursdays and Sundays, departing in the evening from Split Airport. 

Norwegian and SAS also connect Oslo and Split with direct flights in the summer flight schedule.

In its summer flight schedule, Wizz Air will offer over 15,000 available seats between Oslo and Split!

Wizz Air will operate A320 aircraft on the route, which has a capacity of 180 passengers in the fleet of this carrier. The line will work until the end of October (October 28, 2021), and the airline will perform 42 return flights on this route. 

Tickets are on sale on the airline's official website from today. 

Croatian Aviation reported last week that Gdansk - Split - Gdansk would operate from June 17 to mid-September, twice a week, in the evening on Thursdays and Sundays.

The new route between Gdansk and Split will be operated by A320 aircraft with a capacity of 180 seats in the Wizz Air fleet.

The airline has 26 return flights on sale on this new route, making more than 9,300 seats available between Split and Gdansk.

Split is the only destination of this well-known low-cost airline in the Republic of Croatia, for now. In the summer flight schedule, the airline will operate to Split on six international routes, two of which are new - Gdansk and Oslo.

January 24, 2021 - The strict control of passengers from countries marked as epidemiologically high-risk countries began in Germany on Sunday. Germany no longer considers Croatia an epidemiologically high-risk country.

Index.hr reports that checks have been carried out systematically at all airports since Sunday morning, and individual checks are being carried out at road and rail border crossings.

"Today, we conducted a check of passengers from 17 aircraft that flew in from one of the high-risk countries," a Federal Police spokesman at Frankfurt Airport said.

Travelers from these countries must present a negative coronavirus test upon arrival in Germany. Despite the negative test, all passengers coming to Germany must spend 10 days in self-isolation.

Before traveling to Germany, all passengers are required to report to the German health authorities online, and carriers are required to check whether passengers have a negative test on hand before traveling.

The Robert Koch State Epidemiological Institute currently treats 25 countries as high-risk.

The high-risk area is a new category that applies to countries where the seven-day incidence exceeds the value of 200.

Among these countries are almost all Southeast European countries, with the exception of Croatia. The list also includes Spain, Portugal, the Czech Republic, and the Baltic countries.

Croatia is still treated as a risk area, which means that travelers from Croatia do not have to present a negative test immediately upon arrival in Germany but must present it within 48 hours after their arrival.

Over the past 24 hours, Croatia registered 352 new COVID-19 cases and 28 related deaths, the Civil Protection Headquarters announced on Sunday.

The number of active cases in Croatia is currently 2,996, including 1,474 COVID-19 patients in hospital, 138 of whom are on ventilators.

Since 25 February 2020, when Croatia registered its first case of the infection, 228,920 people have contracted coronavirus, and 221,097 have recovered, including 560 in the last 24 hours. The COVID-19 death toll is 4,827.

There are currently 15,729 people in self-isolation.

To date, 1,154,033 people have been tested, 4,342 of whom in the last 24 hours.

January 23, 2021 - The latest news for flights to Croatia Eurowings connects four Croatian cities with Berlin Brandenburg in summer.

Croatian Aviation reports that Rijeka, Zadar, Split, and Dubrovnik will have a direct line to Berlin's new airport this summer!

In its timetable for the upcoming summer season, Eurowings has announced these four routes as new. However, almost all of the above-mentioned Croatian airports previously had a connection to Berlin Tegel Airport. Since the airport is closed, traffic to Croatia will be transferred to the new airport, and for the first time, four Croatian cities will be directly connected to the new Berlin Brandenburg Airport.

The first line will be the Berlin - Split - Berlin line, before the Easter holiday. The flight will mark the start of the season on Saturday, April 3. The airline plans to operate on this route until October 30, every Saturday, and from June 1, the number of weekly flights will increase to two. Namely, an additional flight is introduced on Tuesdays. In this period, Eurowings will operate over 50 return flights between Split and Berlin and offer more than 17,500 seats in both directions. A319 and A320 aircraft have been announced on the route and all other routes to Croatia.

The Berlin - Dubrovnik - Berlin line will start operating on May 9 and run until the end of the summer flight schedule, October 24. One flight per week is available every Sunday, so Eurowings will offer around 8,200 seats on this line during the season.

The Berlin - Rijeka - Berlin line will be in operation from May 15 to October 30, also once a week, on Saturdays. Twenty-six return flights are planned, with Eurowings currently offering more than 8,500 seats between Berlin and Kvarner.

The Berlin - Zadar - Berlin line has been announced from May 22 to October 30 and will also operate on Saturdays once a week. The 25 announced return flights guarantee over 8,200 seats in both directions.

Eurowings will offer over 43,000 seats between Croatian airports and Berlin in the 2021 summer flight schedule.

Recall that in the summer of 2019, Eurowings operated from Berlin (ZL Tegel) to almost all airports in Croatia. In the summer season of 2020, only the Berlin-Split-Berlin route operated briefly. According to current announcements, Croatian airports will again be directly connected to the new Berlin Brandenburg Airport. 

The airline currently offers cheap tickets on routes from Croatia to Berlin, starting from 50 euros, with all prices on the official Eurowings website.
