From Thursday, July 16, flydubai will operate on the Dubai - Dubrovnik - Dubai line twice a week, every Thursday and Sunday, on a B737-800 aircraft. Given that there is currently no direct connection between Dubrovnik Airport and any of the previously planned airlines for this season, by which Asian tourists could come to Croatia to a greater extent (Qatar, Turkish), the start of traffic on the line to Dubai is certainly good - and important news.
LOT has announced changes related to its flight schedule to Croatia, and in addition to launching routes from Warsaw to Zadar, Split and Dubrovnik, the company will introduce as many as 13 completely new routes to Croatian cities. The latest announcement is the introduction of the Warsaw-Rijeka line.
This is an entirely new LOT line from Warsaw to Croatia, and Rijeka will be connected to the Polish capital once a week, every Sunday, from July 5. E195 aircraft with a capacity of 112 passengers will operate on the route.
Furthermore, Ex Yu Aviation reports that Croatia Airlines will launch a seasonal charter service from Brac to Linz via Graz once a week, aiming to bring Austrian tourists to the Croatian island.
The charter services will be operated by Austrian tour operator Gruber Reisen and will begin on Saturday, June 27. The charter service will run until early October.
Ex Yu adds that Croatia Airlines will resume its service between Zagreb and Brac on July 7, running twice a week, on Tuesday and Saturday.
June 26, 2020 - The latest news from around Croatia’s airports for flights to Croatia with updates from Zagreb, Split, Dubrovnik, Pula, and Zadar.
Croatian Aviation reports that Germany's Lufthansa has announced its flight schedule for July. In June, the company started operating again towards Dubrovnik, Split and Pula, but with a very limited number of weekly flights, and only from Frankfurt.
From July, Lufthansa will increase the number of destinations to which it flies in Croatia, introduce new routes, and intensify weekly operations on existing routes. In addition to flights to Dubrovnik, Split and Pula, the company will again operate to Zadar and Zagreb.

Lufthansa will fly again to Zagreb again
From July 1, the Munich - Zagreb line will be introduced three times a week, on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
Croatia Airlines, with which Lufthansa has a code-share agreement, is already operating on the route to Munich, as is the case with the route to Frankfurt.
Lines to Split
Lufthansa launched the Frankfurt - Split route in June, but with only one weekly flight. From July 3, this line will be in traffic 3 times a week, every Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Also, Lufthansa is introducing the Munich - Split route, from July 4, with as many as four weeks of flight, every Tuesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Dubrovnik connected with Frankfurt and Munich
As is the case with Split, Lufthansa also operates to Dubrovnik on the Frankfurt - Dubrovnik line, which will operate twice a week (until now once), every Saturday and Sunday, from 5 July.
The Munich - Dubrovnik line is being introduced, from July 1, four times a week, on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.
Lufthansa to Pula
The existing line Frankfurt - Pula will get another rotation from July 3, and will connect Istria with Frankfurt twice a week, on Fridays and Saturdays.
The Munich-Pula line is also being introduced, from July 5, once a week.
The company is coming to Zadar
The company has not yet flown to Zadar in this year's summer flight schedule, but that will change from July.
From July 4, the Frankfurt - Zadar line will be introduced three times a week, on Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays.
From the same date, Munich - Zadar will be introduced once a week, while from July 12, there will be two weeks of flights on the line, every Saturday and Sunday.
The only Lufthansa line to Croatia that is not yet in operation is the one to Rijeka Airport. Namely, in the summer flight schedule, the company operates once a week on the Munich - Rijeka line, but it is not on sale for July this year. Croatia Airlines also operates on the same route, the Croatian national company has not yet announced the start of operations on this route.
Lufthansa will use aircraft of various capacities on all these routes, from the smallest CRJ900 with a capacity of 90 passengers, to the A321 aircraft with a capacity of 200 passengers.
Croatian Aviation also reports that Polish LOT has announced as many as 13 new routes in this year's summer flight schedule from numerous Polish cities to destinations in Croatia.
The company previously announced the return of lines from Warsaw to Zadar, Split and Dubrovnik, but now it has announced a completely new set of lines that have not been in traffic so far.

Krakow - Dubrovnik is introduced once a week, every Friday, from July 3,
Poznan - Dubrovnik is introduced once a week, every Saturday, from July 5.
E195 aircraft have been announced on the routes to Dubrovnik.
June 25, 2020 - There are currently 246,000 tourists in Croatia, Tourism Minister Gari Cappelli reported on Thursday.
"There are currently 246,000 tourists in Croatia, and the number is growing by 20,000 to 30,000 a day," Cappelli said at a government session, as reported by Glas Istre.
He added that this is a sign that Croatia is a "safe and recognizable" tourist country.
Cappelli presented these data as part of the discussion on the adoption of the Decree amending the Law on Islands, which increases the amount of healthy water for human consumption at a subsidized price from 45 to 85 cubic meters per year per islander.
Novi List reported yesterday that the new border rules would slightly tighten controls on entry into Croatia from Serbia and BiH, where the epidemiological picture has been disturbed, while the rule for 10 European countries agreed before remains the same, Tourism Minister Gari Cappelli said during a visit to Crikvenica and a tour of Crikvenica's tourism company Jadran d.d. Crikvenica.
When asked by journalists whether there were cancellations of accommodation in Croatia due to the coronavirus outbreak at the Adria Tour in Zadar, he answered that there were no cancellations, but that there was a little more pressure on questions asked by the media from nearby countries such as Slovenia and Austria.
"The fact is that there is a delay in order to see in a day or two whether something special will change, so far, there are no major connotations and I think that the new climate that has been created could be stopped in a few days.
We have to be ready for such events, either here or on the islands, these situations will be and from the first day, I say that we just have to be well prepared and have quality protocols to know who is doing what at what time. This goes for hotels, camps; everyone has their rules of conduct and what to do in case of infection to make tourists feel safe as if they were in their own country.
For these 10 EU member states, a health care system has been developed for who pays whom," Cappelli said.
Austria and Slovenia have threatened to introduce self-isolation for their citizens when they return from Croatia, journalists reminded him.
"No, today I spoke to my colleagues from Great Britain where we will define the entry of British tourists into the Croatian market so if they still insist on entering, there is no reason not to trust our first neighbors with whom we have very good relations.
A Slovenian government spokesman said Slovenian citizens would not have any restrictions when they returned from Croatia. I visited a hotel in Opatija this morning, it is practically full, there are no free rooms and 99 percent of foreign tourists are in it.
From what I heard in conversations with people from agencies and tour operators, there are no cancellations of arrivals, only now everything is a bit slow. Not that tourists do not want to come, but they want more information and they want to wait a day or two to see if the epidemiological situation in Croatia may worsen," Cappelli said, adding that there are still no canceled flights.
As many as 66 foreign flights will be launched in a few days and 11 Croatia Airlines flights; with Frankfurt alone, we will have 32 lines a week and in this way, we prove that we can connect with the whole world via Frankfurt.
Today, Great Britain is still being specified, so the British should start arriving soon. Jet2.com insists on that and has quite good bookings, especially for Split and Dubrovnik, and I believe that we will achieve good results there," said the Minister, and when asked by journalists how risky it is, considering that Great Britain currently has the most severe epidemiological corona situation in Europe with 2,000 to 2,300 patients a day, the minister said the control rules would apply as everywhere else.
"If our competition opens for Britain - Spain, Italy, Portugal and France, I think it would not be a good message to be the only one to close the door to them, because the British market is very important to Croatia, but with additional quality epidemiological measures that will certainly be in airports.
After we agree with the British Ministries of Tourism and Foreign Affairs and get the green light to fly to Croatia, then we will further analyze the epidemiological situation. I call on all of us in Croatia to act a little more responsibly, we relaxed, and the recommendations are still valid," said Minister Cappelli.
He pointed out that airlines are crucial for Croatian tourism because Split-Dalmatia County and Dubrovnik are practically dependent on airlines.
"In Split-Dalmatia County and Dubrovnik, America and Britain are the strongest markets, only then do the Germans and everyone else come. The return of tourists from these markets will automatically revive Split-Dalmatia County and Dubrovnik, which is why these flights are important to us.
There is also Zadar for which Ryanair is running 40 percent of its activities compared to last year, and they are opening these permanent lines, to begin with. The fact that we are opening about 90 airlines next week is really good in these circumstances," Cappelli said.
Also, the Minister announced that CRO cards will start on July 1 and that they will already be assigned to some companies.
"The cards have been printed, the first two banks have signed, and later we will contract with other banks, we have talked to eight other banks and they are ready to cooperate. We will discuss giving the cards additional benefits in the future.
In fact, they are now not only valid for catering facilities, hotels and camps, but we have expanded their use to nautical and family accommodation. Due to the situation in the country caused by the coronavirus, we expect a decline in interest in the CRO card this year, according to a survey we conducted earlier this year, there were more than 63 interested in using the card, and now that number will drop dramatically to ten percent," concluded Minister Cappelli.

June 25, 2020 - The latest news from around Croatia’s airports for flights to Croatia with updates from Zagreb, Split, Pula, Rijeka, and Zadar.
Croatian Aviation reports that Qatar Airways, the state-owned Qatari airline, will operate on a direct route between Doha and Zagreb from July 1.
Qatar Airways has been operating on the Doha - Zagreb route since May 2012, initially operated with a stop in Budapest, but with the development of demand, the company launched a direct line between the two cities, and since then only increases the number of flights and capacity on the route to the Croatian capital.

Until the coronavirus outbreak, the line operated twice a day, in the morning and in the afternoon, mainly with narrow-body aircraft type A320 and A321.
Due to weak demand and international restrictions, and in order to prevent the spread of the virus, the line has been suspended, and the company will renew it from July 1.
The line will be in traffic only three times a week, on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, with an afternoon departure from Zagreb. A320 aircraft with a capacity of 144 passengers have been announced on the route.
As the company resumes traffic to other destinations, passengers will be able to travel from Zagreb to numerous destinations in Asia, Australia and Oceania.
The return of Qatar to Zagreb is certainly an addition to the tourist season, given that these flights will provide a very simple connection to distant destinations from which we have been growing the number of visitors for years.
As we wrote earlier, the new Qatar Airways line between Doha and Dubrovnik has been completely canceled for this year and the company plans to launch it in the 2021 summer season.
Croatian Aviation also reports that Eurowings announced its flight schedule for July. We remind you that this airline was among the first to re-establish traffic to Croatian airports.
The company already operates from German airports to Zagreb, Pula, Rijeka, Zadar and Split, and from July it will increase the number of weekly flights on many routes to Croatia.
Lines to Zagreb
The existing Cologne - Zagreb line will now operate three times a week, on Mondays, Thursdays and Sundays,
The Stuttgart - Zagreb line is reintroduced, twice a week, on Thursdays and Sundays.
No changes in Pula and Rijeka
Eurowings will operate to Pula and Rijeka in July without changes, as follows:
Dusseldorf - Pula, once a week, on Saturdays,
Dusseldorf - Rijeka, once a week, on Saturdays,
Hamburg - Rijeka, once a week, on Sundays.
New line to Zadar
In addition to the existing Cologne - Zadar line (once a week, on Saturdays), Stuttgart - Zadar (from July 5, once a week) will be introduced, which will operate twice a week, on Wednesdays and Sundays, from the second half of July.
New lines to Split
From July, Split Airport will have as many as 13 weekly international flights.
Hamburg - Split will continue to operate twice a week and in July (Tuesdays and Sundays),
Stuttgart - Split will operate twice a week (once so far), on Wednesdays and Saturdays,
Dusseldorf - Split will operate three times a week (once so far), on Tuesdays, Saturdays and Sundays,
Cologne - Split is introduced, it will operate as many as five times a week (Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays), and on Saturdays, the two cities will be connected twice a day.
Eurowings has no plans to launch international flights to Dubrovnik and Osijek in July.
June 24, 2020 - The Croatian Headquarters reported on new coronavirus cases and made two new decisions. The first refers to the mandatory self-isolation for everyone coming to Croatia from BiH and Serbia, and the second that masks are now required when using public transport in the country.
Index.hr reports that in the last 24 hours, 22 new coronavirus cases were recorded, bringing the total to 2,388. So far, 2,145 people have recovered. One hundred and seven people died. Another 136 people are being treated.
Everyone coming from BiH and Serbia must go into self-isolation
New border rules have been established for people traveling from BiH, Kosovo, Serbia and North Macedonia, as they will be required to undergo self-isolation for 14 days. The obligation does not apply to those transiting through these countries. This rule applies to anyone coming from these countries, regardless of citizenship.
Masks required!
The second decision refers to a change in public transport, according to which drivers and other employees and passengers must use medical masks and adhere to general measures.
The following are questions to the Croatia Headquarters from journalists:
What about tourists?
"As for the decisions, they are based on the opinion of the medical profession. These decisions were made based on the recommendations of epidemiologists with regard to the situation in neighboring countries. We have an increase in the number of infections, and most of these people came from the direction of BiH and Serbia. We will continue to monitor everything that happens daily. We will make decisions faster and change them if necessary."
About Beroš's statement that the virus mutated
"Analyzes are being done about it, the situation is being monitored. The situation at the moment is not as it was before. Most new patients now have very mild or no symptoms, which is good. We don't have anyone on a ventilator or seriously ill. A lot of them have only a positive result, without symptoms. The amount of the virus that can be transmitted to another person is important. For now, it seems that it is not so strong. People move in the open, and there is no constant close contact. When you are apart in the open, it is harder to transmit larger amounts of the virus to someone. For now, it seems that the situation is more favorable, but it is a perception, we will see. There is no information that the clinical picture is more severe in infected countries and other countries. But distance and hygiene remain," said Markotic.
About Zadar
"Several hundred tests have been conducted. Seven positive people have been identified. Zadar has been brought under control, congratulations to colleagues," Markotic said.
Has there been a local transmission in Zagreb?
"Croatia has been on the list of countries with local transmission for some time now. We are talking about a pandemic and an epidemic. This is a completely normal thing," she added.
As for the wedding arrangements, there will be no changes, for now, she added.
Masks do not have to be medical; they can also be canvas
"It is a measure to maintain physical distance, but it is impossible in a tram. That is why it is mandatory to wear masks; they do not have to be exclusively medical masks, they can also be a canvas mask made of a thicker weave than usual. If we know that there is a crowd in public transport, we may need to leave 15 minutes earlier. People are being pushed by force. Don't do that. Face masks became inevitable. The responsibility is on us - whether we go in and work our way through the crowd or wait for the second tram," the press conference concluded.

From July 4, Scandinavian Airlines will introduce the Copenhagen - Pula route, once a week (every Saturday), though the route will probably be intensified with more weekly flights in the coming period. SAS announced the A320neo aircraft on this route.
Recall, yesterday, we announced that SAS released a modified flight schedule for July, in which the number of weekly flights to Split has increased significantly.
The company has decided to increase the number of weekly flights and add a route from Stockholm to Split, so SAS will connect Split with Scandinavia according to the following schedule:
Copenhagen - Split, from June 29, daily (so far twice a week)
Oslo - Split, from June 29, six times a week, except Thursdays (so far once a week).
SAS will also introduce Stockholm - Split, from July 1, which will operate daily.
From the same date, Jule 4, Windrose Airlines plans to launch the Kyiv-Pula route, also once a week (Saturday), with the A321 aircraft, but the second weekly flight (Tuesday) is also on sale, from July 21.
Furthermore, Ex Yu Aviation reports that Spanish airline Iberia will not resume the Madrid - Zagreb service until the start of the 2020/2021 winter season.
Namely, Iberia will resume the route on October 23 with three flights per week, on Tuesday, Friday and Sunday.
In 2019, Iberia carried 47,703 passengers between Madrid and Zagreb. Iberia will resume seasonal flights to Dubrovnik on July 17, though services to Split and Zadar have not yet been scheduled.
Update (July 11, 2020): While all of these were true when this article was written, a major change took place on July 10, when the new rules for entering Croatia were introduced. Please follow the article about those changes to get the latest information, as it becomes available.
June 23, 2020 - Can Americans visit Croatia now? Yes and no - a journey through the minefield.
A new article with updated information and experiences published on July 2, 2020.
One of the most common questions on the Total Croatia Travel INFO Viber community, which has been visited 100,000 times in its first month, is about Americans visiting Croatia for a holiday during the corona crisis. Is it possible, and if yes, what is the procedure?
This will be a hard article to write and get 100% accurate, as official information is hard to find. There are also, it appears, cases of Americans who have managed to come when the rules would seemingly prevent their entrance. This update has been compiled from official information, feedback from the Total Croatia Travel INFO Viber community, and the media. It is meant for informational purposes and comes with a disclaimer that you should not rely 100% on the information and get confirmation from official sources.
Let's begin.
If you are an American and currently inside the EU/EEA (27 EU countries, UK, Iceland, Switzerland and Norway), you are free to enter Croatia with a business invitation, proof of paid accommodation or the other reasons stated on the infographic below.
If you are an American with Croatian papers, you are free to fly from the USA to Croatia with no problem.
What does 'Croatian papers' mean? For 100% guarantee, a Croatian passport. Much less certain, but at least one case has worked, is to enter with your Domovnica. Once you get to the Croatian border, you will have no problem. Getting on the flight is the hardest part. If the airline is convinced that the Domovnica is good enough ID to establish your Croatian credentials, then you may enter. In order to give yourself the best chance of success with this route, ask your local embassy to confirm your Croatianness in an official letter in English. Please note, this is NOT a guarantee it will work, but it has on at least one occasion.
For all other Americans wanting to come from the USA (or Canadians from Canada), the external EU borders are closed until further notice. In a TCN interview with Croatian Minister of Tourism Gari Cappelli, the last official information was that the EU was targeting July 1 as the date to open external borders, BUT only for countries with a good epidemiological record.
Having said that, I have heard of anecdotal cases of Americans who have managed to come for business. I don't have details, but such cases do exist but are relatively rare in my opinion.
Please note that proof of paid accommodation and/or a flight ticket do NOT guarantee you entrance to the EU or Croatia, and there have been many cases of tourists being refused boarding at US airports. To give one really clear example, an American boyfriend of a UK national with a paid villa in Croatia for 2 months and a 45-day yacht rental fully paid was not allowed to board a Lufthansa flight to Frankfurt and Zagreb from Los Angeles. If he had been immediate family (with a cohabitation document), he would have been allowed on board.
It seems that certain airlines are stricter than others with the rules (feedback from our Viber community), with Lufthansa the strictest. Some are reporting easier procedures with Swiss Air to Zurich, which is outside the EU but inside Schengen.
If you contact the Croatian border police, it is likely that they will say Americans can enter with paid accommodation, which is true. Their job is to deal with people crossing the borders, and if Americans can get to the border, they can enter. It is NOT their job to determine if Americans can cross external EU borders.
When flying either to the EU or within the EU to Croatia, I would advise that you bring with you the following things:
This last one is important as there is such confusion at the moment that the Viber community has reported that some people have been denied boarding because airline check-in staff do not fully understand the rules for entering Croatia. If you have the IATA regulations to show them, it can only help.
The US Embassy in Zagreb is also a resource https://hr.usembassy.gov/covid-19-information-2/

The Netherlands - as of July 21, Croatia is placed on the "Orange" list by the Dutch government, which means that both the Croatian nationals and the Dutch nationals returning to the Netherlands from Croatia are strongly advised to self-quarantine for 14 days.
June 23, 2020 - The latest news from around Croatia’s airports for flights to Croatia with updates from Zagreb, Split, Dubrovnik and Zadar.
Croatian AviationCroatian Aviation reports that Scandinavian Airlines, better known as SAS, has announced a modified flight schedule for July, in which the number of weekly flights to Split has increased significantly.
As we announced earlier this month, the company launched flights to Split from Copenhagen and Oslo in a reduced form, only once a week from Oslo and twice a week from Copenhagen.

SAS will also introduce Stockholm - Split, from July 1, which will operate daily!
On the routes from Copenhagen and Oslo, the company will use A320neo aircraft, while B737-800 aircraft will operate from Stockholm. The A320 in the fleet of this carrier has a capacity of 174 passengers, while the B737-800 has a capacity for 181 passengers.
Furthermore, Croatian Aviation reports that Austrian Airlines changed its flight schedule for July, and there were some operational changes on the routes from Vienna to Croatia.
Austrian made its first flight this summer to Dubrovnik on Sunday and will operate twice a week on the route to Vienna until the end of the month. On Wednesday, Austrian will launch a line to Split. As of June 29, a daily connection between Vienna and Zagreb will be introduced.
In July, there will be some changes to these lines. Namely, Austrian Airlines will increase the number of weekly flights to Dubrovnik and Zagreb and decrease it to Split.
Vienna-Dubrovnik will be increased from the existing two flights a week to four (Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays),
Vienna-Split will be reduced from the existing four flights to three (Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays),
Vienna - Zagreb will continue to operate daily, but on Thursdays, there will be two daily flights on this line (a total of 8 flights per week).
The Vienna-Zadar line will not be in operation in July either, so its launch this summer season is questionable.
The announcement of Lufthansa, which is part of the group that also includes Austrian Airlines, is expected soon, so we believe that Lufthansa will increase the number of flights to Croatia.
June 22, 2020 - The new Total Croatia Travel INFO Viber community passes 100,000 visits in its first month - thank you!
It is just over a month since I visited the main Bregana border crossing between Croatia and Slovenia with PR guru, Kresimir Macan. It was certainly an educational trip, which showed the realities on the ground.
On the way back to Zagreb, I asked Macan why Croatia did not have a Viber group for the latest travel information, as it did for corona updates. The corona Viber updates have been an invaluable service in keeping about half a million subscribers fully informed. With so much confusion regarding travel in these uncertain times, why did the Ministry of Tourism not follow the Ministry of Health's excellent example?
"Let's do it ourselves and create our own Viber community. Come to the office on Tuesday, and we will do it."
And with the help of these two Manjgura interns initially, Macan of course, and several other members from the TCN and Manjgura teams (huge thanks to all), our little Total Croatia Travel INFO Viber community became quite a fascinating project, and one which I have learned a lot from in the last month.
Yes, we were giving out lots of free information, but the community was also giving us gold - real-life experiences of border crossings (successful and unsuccessful), of flights boarded and flights where boarding was denied.
It is, I believe the place where the most accurate information in this very uncertain time can be found about travel to Croatia, and I am immensely proud of the whole team involved for what we have achieved.
Especially since I got word from Viber today that our little community has been visited 100,000 times in its first month. Many thanks to all of you who have joined the community and shared your experiences, so that we could build a more comprehensive and accurate picture for tourists who are yet to arrive.

22. lipnja 2020.
U prvom razgovoru s mojim nećakom u Velikoj Britaniji pitao sam ga kako izgleda njegova svakodnevica ovih dana.
