ZAGREB, March 12, 2018 - Prime Minister and HDZ party leader Andrej Plenković on Monday dismissed media reports that he would run for President of the European Commission, saying that it was his job to be Croatia's prime minister, and noting that a majority in the HDZ leadership did not see gender ideology in the Council of Europe Convention on preventing and combating violence against women and domestic violence, the so-called Istanbul convention.

ZAGREB, March 9, 2018 - Prime Minister Andrej Plenković said on Friday that he understood the sensitivity of some social groups regarding the Istanbul convention which, he said, for him "is primarily a convention that should promote national mechanisms for protection against violence against women and domestic violence" and he believes that the parliament will ratify the document.

ZAGREB, March 9, 2018 - On the occasion of the International Women's Day, several thousand Croatians took to the streets of Zagreb on Thursday evening, demanding the ratification of The Council of Europe Convention on preventing and combating violence against women and domestic violence (Istanbul convention), the right to abortion and gender equality.

ZAGREB, March 8, 2018 - Demography, Family, Youth and Social Policy Minister Nada Murganić said on Thursday that regarding the ratification of the Istanbul convention, the government would put forward a document containing allowed reservations and special statements conveying respect for values promulgated by the Croatian Constitution.

In two days, the project has received 10,000 dollars in funding.
