Colours of Pazar are hard to resist - we bring you more photos from our favourite Instagram account
We continue looking at Split in history with the help of the Facebook group Split kroz povijest.
The famous characters from Pazar, arguably the most vibrant attraction in Split, are getting a 21st-century upgrade through the Instagram account Harperspazaar.
The famous bura visits Split this weekend, part two...
After a week of sunshine and (almost) t-shirt weather, Split was hit hard over the night and through the morning with rain, thunder, and lightning. While the rain finally stopped around 9am this morning, a cold wind picked up which left the normal weekend Riva coffee-goers indoors.
Warm weather is the magentic force that pulls Splićani onto the streets, and it's safe to say that warm weather in winter magnifies that force even more. After Croatian crops (and Croatians) suffered a bit of frostbite in the earlier part of this month, we can happily say that our beloved Green Market is once again full with crops and full with people, thanks to some warmer rays of sun.
The winter season, while wonderful for bundling up with a hot cup tea, is not the ideal time for produce. Shopping locally at the Green Market (also known as Pazar) is one of Split's treats, but it's always good to know what's fresh, what's in season, and what is being imported. Here are the best bits of the Green Market this week.
It is one of the defining tourist attractions of Split, as well as one of the symbols of the freshness of Dalmatian cuisine, but unlike some tourist businesses, the Green Market is open 12 months a year, offering the finest in Dalmatian natural produce to locals and tourists alike.
And with the quality, plenty of colour. A selection of photos from another gorgeous autumnal day at Split's Green Market.
