March the 6th, 2023 - The Jadran hotel group is set to reconstruct the famous Crikvenica Hotel International after having applied for the large project under the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NPOO).

As Poslovni Dnevnik writes, the large hotel group Jadran has successfully applied for a project under the NPOO worth an enormous 22 million euros, of which they could use grants in the amount of 6.6 million euros.

Jadran, as a leading company in the entire Croatian tourism sector for the use of grants, submitted their project for the reconstruction of the much loved Crikvenica Hotel International. The project is called "Step into the hotel of the future/Zakoracite u hotel buducnosti" because the aforementioned funds are aimed primarily at encouraging the green and digital transition of companies working within the wider tourism sector.

The green and digital transition has been a huge talking point for a considerable amount of time across all fields in Croatia, and the coronavirus pandemic has only worked to push things along in both regards. The tourism sector, Croatia's largest economic branch, accounting for around 20 percent of the country's GDP, is far from an exception to the transition. Numerous projects with the green and digital transition firmly in mind have been launched across the wider sector, and hotels aren't immune from the changes Croatia hopes to implement.

Thanks to these very handsome funds, the well known hotel group Jadran will be able to modernise the Crikvenica Hotel International and introduce the latest technologies on offer. The start of the hotel reconstruction is planned for November this year, and it is expected that the works will be finished completely by June 2025, just in time for the very height of that year's summer tourist season.

November the 16th, 2022 - The Israeli Brown Hotels group has taken over the Rijeka-based Jadran Hotels, becoming the new majority owner of the company which boasts numerous hotels and other facilities. Ambitious plans are now in the works.

As Poslovni Dnevnik writes, the Israeli investor Brown Hotels Group is officially the new majority owner of Jadran Hotels from Rijeka, which includes seven hotels, two restaurants and a campsite in the wider Kvarner area, including Rijeka, Kostrena and Kraljevica.

The investors intend to carry out a comprehensive rebranding process at all seven locations where facilities owned by Jadran Hotels are currently located. This is otherwise their second investment in the Republic of Croatia, they are the owners of Trogir's Brown Beach House Hotel, and they bought Jadran Hotels from Ivan Franolic and Zoran Lustica.

"The potential of Rijeka as a city are absolutely enormous, we are convinced that it can become an important tourist centre in both the Croatian and global contexts and a destination that will attract tourists from all over the world. This is strongly supported by the significant investments made by foreign investors in the wider Rijeka area," stressed Leon Avigad, the founder and co-owner of the Israeli Brown Hotels Group, which also operates in Germany, Cyprus, Greece and of course outside of Europe in Israel.

In the coming period, the Israeli Brown Group will implement its model of lifestyle, cultural and nightlife attractions, along with bringing in internationally famous restaurant chefs, attractive rooftop bars, clubs, swimming pools, spa zones and other similar recreational activities.

The first focus of the new owners will be on three hotels: Continental, which will be renamed Brown Continental Rijeka, Jadran, which will become Brown Beach Jadran Rijeka, and Neboder, which will become Brown Lighthouse Rijeka.

Despite a generally dire prognosis owing to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, many Croatian companies actually ended up doing unexpectedly well in July. The Crikvenica-based Jadran is one of them.

As Novac/Andrea Koscec writes on the 8th of August, 2020, the tourism company Jadran d.d. from Crikvenica managed to generate an encouraging 78 percent of the revenue it earned back in July 2019 last month In the first seven months of this year, Jadran's total operating revenues reached 53 percent of last year's turnover during that same period, the travel company stated yesterday.

This result is all the more valuable, they pointed out, given the fact that the Esplanade Hotel was the first open facility in Crikvenica only from May the 29th, when the epidemiological situation in Croatia enabled the continuation of tourism and hospitality/catering facilities. All accommodation facilities managed by Jadran d.d., in addition to the three smaller facilities, the Zagreb, International and Delfin hotels, are currently in full function, boasting a total of 141 rooms.

In addition to hotels and camps owned by the company, Jadran d.d. is also managing three new hotels - Lisanj, Noemia in Baska Voda and the Garden Palace Resort in Umag. All of these facilities, with a total of 343 rooms and high-class four-star apartments, opened their doors to guests during June and July.

"Despite the coronavirus epidemic and all of the restrictive measures that were enforced, we at Jadran have been intensively preparing for this year's tourist season, believing that at least in July, August and September we will manage to record a period of visits and financial results," Jadran's Goran Fabris explained: "In these circumstances, we completed our investments and works to raise the level of our category of accommodation and related activities, which allowed us to exceed more than three quarters of last year's result in that period in July."

"We still have a good occupancy level and I believe that this year's season will be much better than the forecasts that were made in the spring at the time when the coronavirus crisis was at its worst,'' stated Goran Fabris of Jadran.
