April 30, 2021 - The latest flight news to Croatia as Lufthansa flights to Zadar and Pula resume this weekend! 

Croatian Aviation reports that German national airline Lufthansa will operate again today to Pula and tomorrow to Zadar.

Germany's Lufthansa is resuming traffic on two more lines to Croatia. After the company reconnected Frankfurt and Zagreb and regularly operates on routes from Munich and Frankfurt to Split and Dubrovnik, as of this weekend, Lufthansa includes two more destinations in Croatia - Pula Airport and Zadar Airport!

From today, Pula Airport will once again have a regular route to Frankfurt. Lufthansa will operate the first flight on this route in the late afternoon, then again tomorrow, and flights throughout the week are announced once a week, every Saturday. The number of weekly flights should increase in June, and then the Munich-Pula-Munich route will be introduced.

On Saturday, May 1, Lufthansa will make its first flight in this summer season on the Frankfurt - Zadar - Frankfurt route. An E190 aircraft has been announced for the first flight, and flights will take place once a week, every Saturday, until the end of May. A larger number of weekly operations is expected on this line in June as well.

Next Saturday, May 8, Lufthansa will resume traffic on the line between Zadar and Munich once a week (Saturday).

This weekend, Lufthansa will have as many as 7 international routes to 5 Croatian airports, and as of next weekend, 8 of them. Rijeka Airport, another Lufthansa destination in Croatia, will not have flights for some time. Namely, scheduled flights on the route from Munich and on the new route from Frankfurt have been postponed to the beginning of July.

Tickets are on sale on the airline's official website, and, as with most other companies, travel date changes are allowed if you are unable to travel on the originally planned date.

March 16, 2021 - The latest flight news for Croatia: Lufthansa flights to Dubrovnik and Split for the Easter holiday have been announced!

Croatian Aviation reports that German National Airline Lufthansa will resume traffic to two Croatian airports - Dubrovnik and Split - around the Easter holidays.

Lufthansa will resume traffic to two Croatian airports around Easter

The airline will strengthen the existing flights and renew traffic on several lines from Germany to traditional tourist destinations in Spain, Greece, Italy, and Croatia. Despite the restrictive measures in travel, Lufthansa records an increase in bookings around Easter, and consequently, there will be a resumption of traffic to the airports in Split and Dubrovnik.

The airline has already resumed traffic on the line from Frankfurt to Zagreb and has also canceled the line from Munich to Zagreb.

The Munich - Split - Munich line will be in operation from Saturday, March 27. Three flights a week have been announced, until April 15, every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Additionally, a flight is available on Monday, March 29.

The Frankfurt - Split - Frankfurt line will operate from Thursday, April 1. By April 18, 8 return flights have been announced. After the holidays, the line will operate on Saturdays and Sundays.

The Munich - Dubrovnik - Munich line will operate from Sunday, March 28. From April 1, two flights a week are available, every Thursday and Saturday.

On the routes to Split and Dubrovnik, E190 aircraft with a capacity of 100 passengers have been announced. If necessary, the airline will react and increase the capacity following the bookings.

September 14, 2020 - The latest news for flights to Croatia as British Airways cancels Zagreb in October, TAP Portugal returns to the capital in 2021, and Lufthansa operates 14 fewer flights than in August.

Croatian Aviation reports that British Airways has made changes to its flight schedule for October, and there was a further reduction on the London Heathrow - Zagreb line.

As announced earlier, British Airways operated its last flight on the London-Zagreb route on September 6 and withdrew all flights until the end of this month. Until a few days ago, the company again offered daily flights on this route from October 1, though passengers were advised to wait to purchase tickets on these flights because they could be canceled, which has now happened.

British Airways has canceled all flights until the end of October on this route, and the company will not operate to Zagreb for the rest of this year's summer flight schedule.

However, a change has been made that leaves the possibility of returning to the winter flight schedule. Namely, from Sunday, October 25, the company offers direct flights on the London Heathrow-Zagreb line four times a week, every Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Flights on Tuesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays are in the afternoon, while the flight on Fridays is announced in the morning. A320 aircraft have been announced on the route.

Regular aircraft traffic on this route will depend solely on the booking status and the yield itself. British Airways offers return tickets on this route from the end of October for less than 700 kuna, and just a year ago, it was almost impossible to find a direct flight between Zagreb and London for such an amount.

Once again, the company failed to achieve satisfactory business results on this line in September. The question arises about how this will then be possible in the winter flight schedule when demand is significantly weaker than the summer months. Thus, further flight cancellations on this route and the complete withdrawal of British Airways from Zagreb by the spring of next year is possible.

Furthermore, Croatian Aviation reports that the Portuguese national airline TAP has announced its flight schedule for the 2021 summer season. The Lisbon - Zagreb line is being re-introduced!

Namely, TAP Portugal has announced its new routes for next year's summer flight schedule, and Zagreb is among several destinations. The company already operated regularly on the line Lisbon - Zagreb, but it was discontinued in March 2016.

Flights on the line Lisbon - Zagreb have been announced since the beginning of the summer flight schedule, on March 28, 2021, and will operate three times a week, every Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday. Tickets are already on sale on the airline's website.

Departure from Lisbon is planned for 8 am, with arrival in Zagreb 2 hours later. A319 and A320 aircraft with a capacity of 144 and 174 seats, respectively, have been announced on the route.

Croatia Airlines operates seasonally on this route, but this year, due to the pandemic's impact, the route was not in operation. TAP Portugal is the first airline to announce a new route to Zagreb Airport for next year's summer flight schedule.

Finally, Croatian Aviation reports that German Lufthansa has reduced traffic to four Croatian airports, and the same number of flights was retained only to Zagreb. We bring you the current flight schedule for September.

Lufthansa will continue to operate to five Croatian destinations until the end of September; Zagreb, Pula, Zadar, Split, and Dubrovnik, but certain departures were canceled on almost all routes. Compared to August, the company will have 14 fewer flights a week to Croatia.

The Frankfurt - Dubrovnik line will operate twice a week until the end of September, on Saturdays and Sundays, one flight less per week than August (flight canceled on Wednesdays).

The Munich - Dubrovnik line operates 4 times a week, on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. The flight was canceled on Saturday.

The Frankfurt - Split line operates 3 times a week, every Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday. The flight was canceled on Friday.

The Munich - Split line will operate 4 times a week, on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays, until the end of September, while the flight is canceled on Fridays.

The Frankfurt - Pula line operates 2 times a week, on Fridays and Saturdays. The flight was canceled on Monday.

The Munich - Pula line operates once a week, on Saturdays. The flight was canceled on Sunday.

The Frankfurt - Zadar line operates twice a week, on Saturdays and Sundays. The flight was canceled on Wednesday.

The Munich - Zadar line operates once a week, on Saturdays. The company retains the same number of flights as in August on this route.

The Munich - Zagreb line operates 5 times a week, on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. Lufthansa kept the same number of flights on this route as in August.

The Frankfurt - Zagreb line is not in operation, and the company does not plan to launch it until the spring of next year. On this route, flights are operated by Croatia Airlines, and Lufthansa has them on sale thanks to a code-share agreement between the two companies.

The Frankfurt - Zadar line operates twice a week, on Saturdays and Sundays. The flight was canceled on Wednesday.

The Munich - Zadar line operates once a week, on Saturdays. The company retains the same number of flights as in August on this route.

Until the end of September, Lufthansa will offer 48 flights a week on its nine routes to Croatia, or 14 fewer flights than in August this year. The company has not yet finalized its flight schedule for October, but it is to be expected that there will be further cancellations on the routes to the mentioned airports.

August 24, 2020 - The latest news from around Croatia’s airports for flights to Croatia with updates for Zagreb and Split.

Croatian Aviation reports that in the cancellation of many routes, German Lufthansa will not return to Zagreb Airport on the Frankfurt route anytime soon. 

For many years, Lufthansa has been a regular user of Zagreb Airport, to which it operates from its two German hubs - Munich and Frankfurt. While traffic on the Munich-Zagreb route resumed this summer, the same will not happen on the Frankfurt route.

The company suspended traffic on the line during the coronavirus pandemic, and it has not been launched to date. According to the latest announcement by Lufthansa, all flights on this route have been canceled until March 28, 2021!

Lufthansa has thus completely left the Frankfurt-Zagreb route to its Star Alliance partner, Croatia Airlines, which operates on this route several times a day. We remind you that the Croatian national airline operated on this route during the "lockdown".

In the summer flight schedule in 2021, Lufthansa is again announcing two daily flights on the Frankfurt-Zagreb route. Until then, you will be able to travel with this company from Zagreb only to Munich.

Furthermore, Croatian Aviation reports that Air France has announced its flight schedule for September this year, in which there will be some operational changes on the routes to Croatia.

In this year's summer flight schedule, the company resumed traffic to three destinations in Croatia - Split, Dubrovnik and Zagreb. As the end of the summer season approaches, an increasing number of companies will stop operating on their seasonal routes, and so will Air France.

Namely, the Split-Paris line currently operates six times a week (every day except Saturday) and this will continue until the end of this month. After August 30, Air France will suspend traffic on this route and will not offer direct flights between the two cities until next summer season.

Dubrovnik Airport is currently connected to Paris four times a week, but Air France will continue to offer direct flights on this route in September. Thus, Dubrovnik and Paris will be connected three times a week, only one flight a week less than in August.

The Zagreb-Paris line continues to operate daily in September, with a morning departure from Paris to Zagreb. The company has previously given up on introducing a second daily flight on this line.

August 11, 2020 - The latest news from around Croatia’s airports for flights to Croatia with updates for Zagreb, Split, Dubrovnik, Zadar, Pula, Rijeka, Osijek and Brac.

Croatian Aviation reports that although Air France announced the introduction of a second daily flight on the Paris-Zagreb route, it did not materialize.

Before the coronavirus pandemic, Air France announced the introduction of a second daily flight to Zagreb, and the company planned to offer as many as 14 direct flights a week between Paris and Zagreb, but due to reduced demand, the plans have been canceled. The second daily flight was to land from Paris to Zagreb in the late evening, overnight in Zagreb, and depart on the return flight to Paris early the next morning.

However, in July, the company announced traffic on the Paris-Zagreb route 11 times a week, where two daily flights were planned every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday, but this also did not materialize. Air France thus operates seven times a week between the two cities, with one flight a day.

Air France still operates to Split and Dubrovnik, where flights take place as planned; to Split six times a week (every day except Saturday), and to Dubrovnik four times a week (Mondays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays).

Croatia Airlines operates to Paris from Split once a week, from Dubrovnik three times a week, and from Zagreb every day.

Croatian Aviation reports that France isn't the only country that is well connected with Croatia. Last weekend (August 8 and 9), just like every peak season weekend, Croatian airports were well connected with Frankfurt. 

Frankfurt Airport received and dispatched over 70 million passengers (70,556,072) in 2019, ranking fourth among the busiest airports in Europe (ahead of only Amsterdam Schiphol, Paris Charles de Gaulle, and London Heathrow).

Last weekend, Split Airport had the largest number of seats offered on the lines to and from Frankfurt. On Saturday, German Lufthansa used an A321 aircraft with a capacity of 215 passengers (430 seats in both directions), while Croatia Airlines operated an A319 aircraft with a capacity of 144 passengers (288 seats in both directions). On Sunday, Lufthansa again used an A321 aircraft with a capacity of 200 passengers, while Croatia Airlines offered the same capacity on the route as on Saturday. However, on Sunday, German Condor flew to Split on a B757 aircraft with a capacity of as many as 275 passengers, so only this airline offered 550 seats in both directions, for a total of 1956 seats available!

The second airport in terms of the number of seats offered on the route to Frankfurt is Zagreb Airport. As Lufthansa has not resumed traffic at Zagreb Airport, only Croatia Airlines operates on this route. Last Saturday and Sunday saw three flights a day. Croatia Airlines used A319 aircraft with a capacity of 144 passengers on all flights, while one flight was performed every day with a 9A-CTN aircraft with a slightly larger capacity, 150 passengers. In total - 1752 seats on sale on direct flights between these two airports.

The third airport in Croatia in terms of connections with Frankfurt was Dubrovnik Airport. Lufthansa landed in Dubrovnik on Saturday on an A321 aircraft with a capacity of 200 passengers, while Croatia Airlines flew to Frankfurt on an A319 aircraft. On Sunday, Croatia Airlines offered the same capacity as the previous day, while Lufthansa used a smaller A320neo on the route, which has a capacity of 180 passengers. There were 1336 seats available on direct flights between Dubrovnik and Frankfurt.

This year, Croatia Airlines does not offer direct flights from Zadar to Frankfurt, but Lufthansa has resumed traffic to Zadar Airport, and the line is available on both Saturdays and Sundays. On Saturday, the A319 aircraft with a capacity of 138 passengers operated on the route, while on Sunday, the A320neo with a capacity of 180 passengers operated. In total, in both directions, 636 seats were available.

As is the case at Zadar Airport, this year, Croatia Airlines does not operate direct flights from Pula to Frankfurt. Lufthansa restored traffic, but only on Saturdays, so there was no direct flight between Pula and Frankfurt on Sunday. The Embraer E190, with a capacity of 120 passengers, landed in Pula on Saturday, so a total of 240 seats were available on this line.

Other airports in Croatia - Osijek, Brac and Rijeka, do not have direct flights to Frankfurt in this year's summer flight schedule. It should be mentioned that Rijeka is connected to Frankfurt Hahn Airport, where Ryanair operates, and the line is available on Saturdays.

In conclusion, a total of 5,920 seats on as many as 36 flights were available between the five Croatian airports and Frankfurt last weekend! Given that Frankfurt is a well-known European and world hub, the number of seats offered is no surprise, especially when the number of direct flights to Croatian airports has been reduced this year, so many passengers are forced to change at one of the European airports to arrive in Croatia.

June 1, 2020 - The latest news from around Croatia’s airports for flights to Croatia with updates from Zagreb, Split and Dubrovnik, Pula, Zadar, Rijeka.

Croatian Aviation reports that German national airline Lufthansa has announced flights to a number of European destinations, and among others, the company will launch flights to Dubrovnik and Pula.

From June 20, the company will fly from Frankfurt to Pula and Dubrovnik, only once a week, for now.

The Frankfurt - Dubrovnik line is being reintroduced (from June 20), once a week in June, every Saturday. It will operate an A320neo aircraft with a capacity of 180 passengers.

The Frankfurt - Pula line is being reintroduced (from June 20), once a week in June, every Saturday. There will be a slightly smaller aircraft (100 passengers) on this route - the Embraer190.

Lufthansa is not currently planning flights to the region from Munich, but will gradually add flights from Frankfurt. Lines to other airports in Croatia are expected to be introduced in July.

Croatian Aviation adds that Croatia Airlines is launching another domestic route. Along with Dubrovnik and Split, from June 8, the line Zagreb - Zadar - Pula will be in traffic.

The route normally operates twice a day in the summer flight schedule, but the domestic national airline is now reintroducing it with one daily flight between the mentioned cities.

From June 8, the line will operate daily, in the evening, with departure from Zagreb at 9 pm and arrival in Pula at 11 pm. Of course, this line, just like before, has a stopover in Zadar. The return flight from Pula departs at 6 am for Zadar, from where the DashQ400 plane continues its journey to Zagreb, where it should land at 07:40 am.

Passengers from Pula and Zadar will be able to continue their journey to Copenhagen, Amsterdam, Zurich and Frankfurt with minimal time in Zagreb. In the opposite direction, from the mentioned cities to Pula and Zadar via Zagreb, the waiting time between flights is long and demotivating for passengers.

Latvian national carrier Air Baltic has made operational changes to its seasonal routes to Croatia. Namely, Croatian Aviation reports that the long-term seasonal line Riga - Rijeka, which mainly operated twice a week, this year will operate only once a week from July 29 to September 16.

Air Baltic also announced the introduction of the Vilnius-Rijeka route, which was originally scheduled to operate twice a week, but was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Riga - Split line will operate once a week from June 29, and the second weekly flight will be introduced from July 31. The original plan of this airline was to fly on the line Riga - Split three times a week, but the number of weekly departures was reduced in accordance with demand.

The Riga - Dubrovnik line will operate twice a week from July 27, there has been no reduction in capacity and weekly departures on this line, but the start of traffic has been postponed until the very end of July.

The Vilnius - Dubrovnik line, which was supposed to operate for the first time this year (just like the Vilnius - Rijeka line), has been completely canceled for this summer season. The two-week flight on this line was originally planned.

This airline will complete the entire summer flight schedule with a unified fleet in order to reduce operating costs, so A220 aircraft are expected on all routes to Croatia, which have a capacity of 145 passengers in the fleet of this carrier.

Finally, Transavia, the low-budget subsidiary of the Air France group - KLM, announced the re-launch of certain lines from France to destinations in Croatia.

Croatian Aviation reports that from June 29, Transavia will launch a total of four routes to the airports in Dubrovnik, Split and Pula.

The Nantes - Dubrovnik line is being reintroduced with two weeks of departure (Wednesdays and Saturdays). The company currently plans to maintain that number of rotations through July as well.

The Paris Orly - Dubrovnik line is being reintroduced, three times a week (Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays). The number of weekly flights is expected to increase to a total of four in July.

The Paris Orly - Split line is reintroduced, three times a week (Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays). The company intends to increase the number of flights to as many as six a week in July.

The Paris Orly - Pula line is also being introduced, twice a week, and it is likely that this number of flights will be maintained in July.

Transavia has B737 aircraft in the fleet, versions 700 and 800, with a capacity of 149 and 189 seats.

ZAGREB, May 5, 2018 - Lufthansa, Europe's biggest passenger airline, on Saturday introduced a Frankfurt-Zadar flight which will operate on Saturdays and Sundays until October 27.
