With the Days of Diocletian taking place on August 28-31, there will be plenty events to choose from over the weekend. There is a rich and interesting program again this year and for some events wearing a toga will be highly recomended. The Diokles Musical is one of those. Actually, you could probably wear a toga during those 3 days non-stop in Split. Now, isn´t that something? There are only so little opportunities to wear a toga in a lifetime..

But back to the the Diokles Musical. It wiil take place on August 29, 2015 at 20:30 on Peristil. Tickets can be bought at Adriatickets.com. Here is some information translated from the Diokles Musical Facebook Page abou the musical:
"A musical about the history of Split, but not as a reconstruction of the historical events. Not only because that wouldn´t be possible, but because it is not the purpose of a theatre. The nature of this genre is to change it and to adjust it to gag, comedy and all those others acts that make the performers (and hopefully the audience) happy.
The history of our city is a great treasure. On the Roman foundations of the magnificent palace, the Christian culture has sedimented, a culture over which arrows from all over the world had flown. Split truly is one of the centres of the world and it´s history is a cheat sheet of the whole Western civilization.
The Split tourist board becomes an active shaper of the Culture of the city, not just it´s presenter. We want you to have fun, wonder and inspire at the Days of Diocletian, during which we present you Diocles again."
To get a taste of what it looks like, here is a video from last year´s performance. Enjoy wearing your toga and the musical!!
