By 14 April 2017

A Center for Youth Health (Centar za zdravlje mladih) was officially opened by the mayor Milan Bandić, reports zagreb.info on April 13th, 2017.

The center will be part of the existing Health Center Zagreb – East and will provide counseling and services to school children and young adults in areas of mental health care and reproductive health, including a clinic for free anonymous HIV and AIDS testing.

The Mayor emphasized the fact that all individuals who turn to the new health center for help can expect to get free professional advice even without a referral from their GP.

Mirna Šitum, head of the City Office for Health, stated that future activities and projects will be carried out in cooperation with all health institutions in Zagreb, headed by the Andrija Štampar Teaching Institute of Public Health.

The Center for Youth Health is one of the first institutions of its kind on the European level.
