Specialised Shop with School Uniforms Opens in Zagreb

By 8 September 2017

The uniforms are made by URIHO, an institution for rehabilitation of disabled persons by professional rehabilitation and employment in Zagreb.

URIHO, Institution for Vocational Rehabilitation and Employment for Persons with Disabilities opened a specialised shop for school uniforms in Zagreb’s Držićeva Street, Politika plus reports on September 8, 2017.

Deputy Mayor Olivera Majić emphasised during the opening ceremony that URIHO is the leading institution when it comes to professional rehabilitation and employing people with disabilities and the institution’s innovative projects keep improving its business.

The project of introducing school uniforms in primary schools is the result of cooperation between the City of Zagreb and URIHO Institution and it has proven to be very successful.

URIHO has made uniforms for 50 Zagreb schools so far, and their S-Chool by URIHO brand has gotten praise both from the students and from clothing manufacturers.
The clothes and shoes are simple, modern, comfortable and adjusted to the season. It’s a Croatian product made by people with disabilities.

Research has shown that uniforms contribute to lowering bullying among schoolchildren and wearing similar clothes is comparable with sports teams wearing the same jerseys, while students become more focused on their education than on what they look like.

This way, URIHO enables persons with disabilities a right to be employed and educated, and it enables schoolchildren to learn in a safe and comfortable environment.
