Forrest Stilin

Forrest spent his early childhood in a small town in Northern Wisconsin 40 km south of Lake Superior, where he was a short bike ride away from his Croatian grandmother, great aunt, uncles and many cousins. He arrived in Zagreb by train in 1989 and spent the summer learning Croatian in Pionirski grad (now Grad mladih). Over the next three decades, Croatia remained his number one travel destination. After working in art departments on indie films, trade shows and events; he spent twenty years producing commercial catalog photography for several US retail brands. In 2017, he moved to Zagreb where he enjoys biking to the top of Medvednica, binge-watching “sapunice” on Nova TV and eating “roly polys” (sarma) whenever he can.
