By 12 December 2016

Adriatic Oil Pipeline (JANAF) signs contracts worth more than 125 million kuna.

Adriatic Oil Pipeline (Jadranski Naftovod, JANAF) reported on Monday that it had signed long-term contracts with VITOL from Great Britain, Unipetrol from the Czech Republic, and Crodux from Croatia, reports Poslovni.hr on December 12, 2016.

“JANAF continues with intensive business activities and has concluded valuable long-term contracts with VITOL, Unipetrol and Crodux, which will certainly result in its continuing good business results in 2017 and beyond”, announced the company in a statement.

With one of the world’s leading traders in oil, VITOL, JANAF agreed and signed a contract on a multi-year lease of storage facilities. Crodux and JANAF signed two multi-year contracts for additional capacities for storage of petroleum products at the Omišalj and Žitnjak oil terminals. JANAF also signed a multi-year contract on crude oil transportation with Unipetrol on the Omišalj to Gola section. The total value of these contracts exceeds 125 million kuna, said the company.

The signing of these contracts is another proof that foreign business partners recognize JANAF as a safe and reliable partner which can meet the highest international standards in providing transportation and storage services for oil, which enables continuing good business results in foreign markets.

At the same time, the company points out that JANAF recently organized an international oil conference “Challenges and strengthening of cooperation as drivers of growth”, which brought together JANAF’s business partners from Croatia and Central and South-Eastern Europe, as well as leading European oil experts. The participants exchanged their views, information and experiences on the latest developments and trends in the oil industry, especially in the oil transportation and storage of oil and oil products, with the goal to improve business cooperation and realization of projects of common interest.

All this will positively affect the stability of JANAF as one of the most important companies in Croatia and an important factor in the energy security of this part of Europe, concluded the company in the statement.

JANAF is headquartered in Zagreb and is managing an oil pipeline system designed and built in the period from 1974 to 1979, as a modern, efficient, and cost-efficient crude oil transportation system for both local and foreign users. In addition to crude oil transportation, other major activities of JANAF are reloading and storage of crude oil and oil products. It employs about 380 workers.
