Instead of the number of passengers increasing owing to the cheaper ticket prices, they've fallen...
According to the collected data on the subject, on the level of all lines and all weekend traffic, Jadrolinija had nine percent less passengers and five percent less vehicles use its ferry services.
As Poslovni Dnevnik writes on the 18th of April, 2018, the much talked about twenty percent cheaper weekend ferry ticket offer on both Jadrolinija and Rab's Rapska plovidba vessels, which began on January the 19th this year, did not produce the desired result, as neither ferry company managed to increase the number of tickets sold, in spite of the lowering of the price.
Despite significantly lower ticket prices, there were fewer passengers and vehicles using the services, so both passenger ferry companies recorded less revenue from ticket sales at weekends, according to a report from Novi List.
As previously mentioned, Jadrolinija experienced nine percent less passengers and five percent less vehicles during the weekends, and at the company level, Jadrolinija's income decreased by approximately 900,000 kuna in comparison with the same period last year.
Similarly, Rapska plovidba experienced such trends, experiencing a considerable drop in income, which, over the period of a total of eight weekends with cheaper ticket prices, resulted in reduced sales revenue of 57.924 kuna.
