Croatia Still Bosnia's Main Trade Partner

ZAGREB, May 7, 2018 - In the first quarter of 2018, Croatia remained Bosnia and Herzegovina's (BiH) main trade partner, followed by Serbia, according to data published by the Foreign Trade Chamber of BiH on Monday.

Croatian exports to BiH in Q1 2018 totalled 343 million euro, while BiH exports to Croatia reached 172 million euro. Croatia's main exports to BiH were oil and oil products, bituminous coal, electricity, beer and chocolate, while main imports were electricity, raw aluminium, seats and wood.

Serbian exports to BiH totalled 305 million euro, followed by Germany (223 million euro), Slovenia and Italy.

BiH's foreign trade in Q1 2018 totalled 3.73 billion euro, with the export-import ratio at 64%. European Union member states are BiH's main trade partners, accounting for 70% of the foreign trade, followed by Central European Free Trade Agreement countries. Turkey and Russia are at the bottom, although BiH's trade with them and China is increasing by the year.
