ZAGREB, July 23, 2018 - The Croatian Chamber of Commerce (HGK) will co-finance the attendance of Croatian companies at China's international imports fair this autumn and will organise a business forum and talks between Croatian and Chinese companies.
China plans to increase its imports through the first China International Import Expo, which is due to be held in Shanghai on November 5-10. With a population of 1.3 billion, the country expects to import over 10,000 billion dollars in goods and services in the next five years.
The fair will be an opportunity for companies to present their goods and services, including intelligent and high-end equipment, consumer electronics, household appliances, clothing, consumer goods, automobiles, food and farm products, medical equipment and instruments, medicines and healthcare products, as well as emerging technologies, service outsourcing, innovative design, culture, education, and tourism services. They will be able to make deals with Chinese companies and those from other countries.
Companies will also be to present their goods and services via an on-line transaction platform. About 2,000 companies have signed up to attend the fair.
Croatian companies are showing an increasing interest in exporting their products to China. Most of the queries received this year referred to exports of food products, tourism services and natural cosmetic products. There is also an interest from energy and IT companies, the HGK said.
