The 18th “Marjanski Đir” is This Weekend - Are You Ready?

Marjanski Đir has been held every year for the last 18 years and is a triathlon that is separated into 3 categories: Olympic, Super Sprint, and Aquathlon. The triathlons take place at SRC Bene, Marjan Forest Park in Split.

The Olympic Triathlon begins at Bene with two laps of 750 meters in the triangle. From there you hit the bicycle path which requires 5 laps of 8 kilometers. Following that is the speedway, where competitors must run 4 laps of 2.5 kilometers.

 

The Super Sprint Triathlon also begins at Bene with one lap of 375 meters in the triangle. From from there you hit the bicycle path which requires 1 lap of 8 kilometers, followed by the speedway for 1 lap of 2.5 kilometers.

 

The Aquathlon, being the less intensive, begins at Bene with 1 lap of 150 meters, followed by the speedway for 1 lap of 600 meters.

 

The races will be held this Saturday, August 27th beginning in the morning. With cash prizes and medals for the winners, all participants must be aged from 18 years to 80+.

 

Many can still apply for the races here, but for the non-participants this always makes for an exciting spectacle to watch!
