Croatia is Returning to Eurosong After Three Years

By 26 November 2015

HRT withdrew from the competition in 2013 because of financial crisis and years of bad results

Well, lovers of glitter, bad taste and songs of questionable quality, rejoice, Croatia is coming back to Eurosong! As it was announced by Croatian Radio Television on November 26, 2015, Croatia will have its representative at the Eurovision Song Contest 2016 which will be held in Stockholm.

"At this moment we can confirm that Croatian Radio Television has secured a spot for a Croatian representative at the 61st Eurosong in Stockholm" was a brief statement given by HRT to Telegram.hr.

Since no other details were shared with the public, we still don't know the method in which our representative will be selected, whether we will have a competition like we used to or will we just send the winner of the first season of The Voice Nina Kraljić.

One thing is for sure, Croatia already has one representative at the big glitzy event in Stockholm, Ana Rucner, famous Croatian cellist will represent Bosnia and Herzegovina along with Deen.

In case you have forgotten, after 21 years of successive appearances, Croatia hasn't participated in the Eurosong competition since 2013 when Klapa s Mora, an ad hoc project concocted by HRT and few music producers, failed to impress the public and reach the finals. So, get your popcorn ready, we know you like watching this kitsch fest. I for one admit to it being one of my guilty TV pleasures. And if we decide to send Let 3, fun is almost guaranteed!
