Worrying Numbers about Traffic-Related Deaths in Croatia

By 4 March 2018

ZAGREB, March 4, 2018 - In 2017, there were 331 fatalities in road accidents in Croatia, which was 7% more than in 2016.

These figures should give rise to concern, and Georg Davor Lisicin, the secretary-general of an association dedicated to road safety traffic, has said recently that the situation in this segment of transport was not satisfactory.

By 2020, Croatia is expected to reduce the road traffic fatalities to 213 per year.

In 2017, Croatia's traffic-related death rate was 7.8 per 100,000 inhabitants, as against the European Union's average rate of 5.5.
