More Croatian innovation. Hate queuing? Meet SaveTime.
SaveTime is a mobile and web application which solves the problem of waiting in long queues. By simply clicking on your mobile device or personal computer, you log in to the queue in which you want to "wait". It is somewhat similar to bank queues which use numbers written on pieces of paper, but with much larger benefits for users, reports Poslovni.hr on October 5, 2015.
You can log in from home or wherever you are and you can see how many people are ahead of you in the queue without having to come to the location. The main advantage is that you can use your precious time as you see fit. SaveTime has been developed by a young computer engineer Matija Stepanić who has been involved in the development of web applications and various computer programs since high school. Naturally, the idea struck him while he was waiting in a queue.
"I do not like wasting my time waiting in queues. I can use that time to do something or have a useful meeting. Since personally I do a lot of web and mobile application development, and today almost everyone has a smart phone, I have decided to create an online system which will save me and other people some valuable time. No one will be waiting anxiously in waiting rooms, and the app will let me know when I should arrive to the location", said Stepanić.
The main goal of SaveTime is virtual waiting, waiting in a queue without physically being there. The application sends you status reports on the progress of your queue. This can save you a lot of time. Large screens in waiting rooms will display the same information about the queue that you will have on your mobile device.
Importantly, people who do not use smart phones or personal computers can wait in queues in old-fashioned way. Such users, after arrival to the waiting room, take their number as before. Their arrival is updated within the app. Furthermore, owners of the establishments, if they want to, can allow dynamic advertising content, which the users will see on their mobile devices. Those clients who want to use the system with no advertising will have to pay a subscription.
This app is designed for clients such as banks, hospitals and government institutions. There are several existing solutions, but they do not cover all the possibilities. SaveTime offers to the end-user the possibility to use one single account and a single application to access all queues in their vicinity which are included in the system.
