Croatian fries are becoming more popular around the world.
The most successful Croatian franchise Surf'n'Fries, which was started a few years ago by Andrija Čolak and Denis Polić from Rijeka, has just expanded its business operations to Iran, reports Index.hr on April 28, 2016.
Surf'n'Fries was founded in 2009 with the first sales outlet opened in Rijeka, and today the franchise is also present in Germany, Austria, Slovenia, Hungary, Romania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Macedonia and Vietnam.
The Iranian market, where they have just began their business operations, has an enormous potential. Iran is a country with as many as 80 million inhabitants, and after many years of international isolation, sanctions have been lifted so many companies now see an opportunity to expand their business there.
Last year, Surf'n'Fries received an award in the United States as the best new project in the franchise business, in competition with 300 franchises from 38 countries.
Also, last year they presented their own innovative technology SURFFRY, which make fries without a drop of oil. Their technology uses moisture from potatoes and hot air which at 250 degrees Celsius makes fries without using oil in just a few minutes.
