ZAGREB, March 19, 2018 - Health Minister Milan Kujundžić said on Monday that the Istanbul Convention on the prevention of violence against women contained a small problematic issue in connection with gender ideology, however, this was not crucial given that the document was primarily focused on the protection of women and prevention of domestic violence.
The convention contains a small problematic segment relating to gender and (civil society) associations, which causes some disputes, however I believe that this will be resolved," the minister said underscoring that the Istanbul Convention is primarily focused on the protection of women against violence and prevention of domestic violence.
Asked whether he could see gender ideology in the document, the minister answered that "it (ideology) is mirrored in the document a little, but it is not a crucial thing."
